Hello! Apologies if there is a July thread already (I couldn’t find one). Is there anyone else due in July who would like to chat during the journey?

Went for 20 week scan today and thankfully everything is absolutely fine. Got my ds birthday coming up so once that's been, will start getting things for baby.

When is everyone else due their scans?

MrsBP15 · 20/02/2025 19:21

That’s so great @Duckwars did you find out the sex? Mine isn’t for another three weeks and I’m feeling a bit on edge about it all. I kind of wish I’d booked a private scan….

MrsS11 · 20/02/2025 20:26

@Whoosher yep people can say some pretty stupid things! I've only just started telling people, mainly for that reason. @Duckwars that's lovely you had your scan, do you know if you're having a boy or a girl? My anomaly scan is on Tuesday but I had a wellbeing scan this week. Still would like them to check all the details but I'm reassured by it. @MrsBP15 it's probably not too late to book one, there are lots of appointments available where I live.

mummasoph · 20/02/2025 20:32

Hey! I'm joining on here, I'm due 8th July. I had my 20 week scan on Tuesday and we are having a baby boy 💙 we have 2 girls already 5 and 4 so we are over the moon to be having a boy! Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies, I'm so excited to do it all over again 🥰

3rdbabytime · 20/02/2025 22:11

Hi everyone! Welcome @Whoosher @MrsS11 @mummasoph it's so lovely having new july mamas joining here.

@MrsBP15 glad to hear that all is well with your BP :)

@MrsS11 I'm really sorry about your little girl. I hope you're able to relax as much as you can during this pregnancy and lovely to hear that the hospital are looking after you.

@Whoosher Sorry that things aren't great with DH atm, do you have other support? I hope friends and family will be there for you once you do feel comfortable telling people. We are here too :)

I'm 17+1 and had my internal scan earlier in the week. It was a precautionary scan to check cervical length as I was fully dilated when I had an emergency c section with my 1st child. All was well and saw little one wriggling about and saw little heart pumping :) Hope everyone is doing well. I'm breastfeeding my soon to be 2 year old and it hurts like crazy because of how sore my breasts feel. I'm hoping she stops in the next month or so or I'll have to wean her fully off which will be hard as she absolutely loves the comfort of bf!

Duckwars · 21/02/2025 13:46

@MrsS11 ah we are not finding out until birth. Although during the scan when got told to look away, I was tempted until told baby had legs crossed so couldn't find out even if wanted to. Lovely you got to see baby this week and Tuesday will be here before you know it.

@mummasoph congratulations 🎊

@3rdbabytime glad everything went well 😊

Hi all I have a question for the group as this my first so it’s all new to me….anyone else absolutely shattered in the second trimester? I’m 17 weeks and exhausted by the afternoon. Not to brag but I found the first trimester a bit of a breeze. I had a tiny bit nausea for about a week and a bit of mild cramping but that was it. I’m working from home today and have had to get into bed for a lie down!!😳

Definitely very tired. I had my first during lockdown in 2020 so was able to cope well with the pregnancy. With my 2nd and current pregnancies, absolutely exhausted sometimes. Were your blood tests all OK with iron? I've always been anaemic and have hypothyroidism so that contributes to my tiredness too. Your body is going through so many changes so that will definitely contribute to the tiredness too. Hope you're able to get some good rest x

MrsS11 · 21/02/2025 20:22

@MrsBP15 honestly I think the 'glowing second trimester ' thing is a myth, I generally just feel a bit less crap than in the 1st and 3rd. Do get your iron checked but it can also be very normal to be exhausted

jazzyrockyblues · 21/02/2025 20:54

Can I join? I’m due on the 30th with our second baby. I’m glad to be in the 2nd trimester, I was so sick in the 1st trimester!

Welcome and congratulations! We are due date buddies! 😍

MrsBP15 · 22/02/2025 09:46

Thank you @3rdbabytime and @MrsS11 i know everyone is different and I feel very lucky that I had an easy first trimester as I know that can be hell. I’ve woken up knackered again today so I reckon another nap is on the cards this afternoon! Everyone keeps telling me how well I look and that I’m glowing which isn’t how I feel but I guess I’ll take it!

Hi all love to join. Congratulations all, hope you are all doing well.
Due in early August but due to Type 2 diabetes, I'll be having a c-section around 37/38 weeks so mid/late July.
We have our 20 week scan mid March so we will be finding out the gender.

Evening everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Is any one not finding out the sex? we’ve got our 20 week scan booked and I’m still undecided on if we want to know or not. We didn’t find out with our first but don’t know if it’ll make it more exciting for DD if she knows the sex of the baby.

RG84 · 24/02/2025 20:08

We are finding out during our 20 week scan next month. I just like to be prepared and get shopping bits done. Any excuse for a shop :)
I love the element of a suprise but I wouldn't be able to wait.

MrsS11 · 25/02/2025 07:26

@jazzyrockyblues not all NHS hospitals will tell you, ours doesn't. However as we've got older kids we've decided to pay for a scan at some point after the detailed scan tomorrow, for the first time. I've always liked having a surprise but this is definitely the last baby and I'd like to get rid of any of the clothes we have saved and don't need. Also we've got 2 boys and a girl and I think DD might need some time to get used to the idea of she's going to be very outnumbered!

MrsBP15 · 25/02/2025 09:59

@jazzyrockyblues this is our first (and likely only) child so we’re going to find out. We were going to keep it to ourselves but decided that was going to be too difficult and I’m very happy for people to know. Our 20 week scan is in two weeks though so just waiting for that really. Can’t say I’m very focused on work at the moment!! When is your scan?

jazzyrockyblues · 25/02/2025 19:31

How exciting that so many of you are finding out, I’m excited to hear what you’re all having!!.

My scan is booked for the 14th, so I have a little while to decide. I loved the surprise with DD, so will probably not find out again. It does make things a little more difficult with shopping though!.

MrsBP15 · 26/02/2025 08:20

@jazzyrockyblues mine is booked for 13th! I find the wait totally mental between scans…8 weeks! But this is my first so I had no idea what to expect. Just crossing everything that all ok x

It is a crazy wait! I booked an early scan with both pregnancies as I just couldn’t wait until 12 weeks. I know a lot of people book a private gender scan as well between 12 and 20 weeks. Crazy that if you do it by the NHS you only have 2 scans, I’m sure in America it’s a lot more.

I’m ivf so I had two scans at 6 weeks and 8 weeks so that was good. I’m going to be consultant led for this pregnancy so should get some extra scans (I think about 4) as the pregnancy progresses. I really should have booked a private scan between 12 and 20 weeks but I didn’t so here we are! I’m not feeling great in the second trimester and I just want to see the baby again as I know that will make me feel better.

3rdbabytime · 28/02/2025 23:14

Hey everyone, how are you all getting on? Anyone super hungry at around 11 pm?? It's been happening for a few days now even though I've had a filling dinner!

MrsBP15 · 02/03/2025 07:57

Hey @3rdbabytime im not hungry at 11pm I’m hungry ALL THE TIME. Basically cannot get full so trying to eat healthy snacks (oranges, nuts etc) easier said than done! I keep waking up with a sore throat and blocked nose but it eases as the day goes on. How are you? Hope you’re having a nice weekend x
