Creating this as a space to continue the Feb 2025 chat - quite frankly it's all starting to feel very, very real right now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@superj21 we can be waiting together 🤗 maybe this weekend something will start moving
but in theory @Onthedouble123 i could be keeping you company at least until the 21st when they start trying to persuade him to come out by other means.
@ThisLimeDeer must be nice to have a solid date. 😊
On the other hand if someone told me now when labour would begin for me I would probably be stressed building up all the way until that day. Trying to embrace the unknown (but struggling most of the time 😅)

superj21 · 07/02/2025 12:07

Hopefully @Kumquat89 ! I'm also very keen to avoid induction @Pepsix. I'd rather stick it out as long as there's no medical indications that it's necessary (other than babe just taking his sweet time!)

bumpkin34 · 07/02/2025 12:11

Oh that's nice to know there's still a few of us left 😃

I'm not due till the 23rd so could be right at the end of February! Hopefully not though but no signs yet 😂

jaybeez · 07/02/2025 14:45

I'm also still waiting (38+5) - I have a section booked for the 20th unless baby arrives before then (hoping so!). I've started losing bits of my plug, and today I feel so so exhausted, like I've been hit with a bus / about to come down with a heavy cold.

Trying to stop myself from symptom spotting too much but it's hard not to google every little thing!

MyHappyNewt · 07/02/2025 14:55

I’m still waiting! 39+4 today. She was almost evicted this week via semi-elective CS as she’d turned transverse, but is now firmly (hopefully) back head down. She’s not really engaged though and keeps bobbing around. Hoping to avoid induction if I can.

QuantumPanic · 07/02/2025 17:08

@bumpkin34 As @Kumquat89 says, there are 130 on the FB group. I think fewer than 15 babies so far, so the vast majority are still to appear! You're in good company. 💛

Sympathies to everyone who is overdue. It really, really sucks. 😞

ThisLimeDeer · 07/02/2025 11:22

Congratulations @TTCagain85 !!!

I got the date for my c-section this morning!! It’s next Thursday (13th Feb) so almost a week to go still. I do hope with my gestational diabetes I’m seen in the morning and I don’t have to wait too long but we shall see what happens…
I have my Aneasthesist appointment later on today so I guess we will find out a bit more :)

So is mine!! Good luck!

ridl14 · 08/02/2025 04:19

Still waiting as well! 38+1 (well I guess +2 now it's Saturday!) and just had my last day at work, I'm torn between really wanting to meet him soon and wanting just a bit of time to put my feet up before he arrives! I reckon if he doesn't come almost immediately after I start mat leave, he could be very overdue 😂 also keen to avoid being induced

prizecow · 08/02/2025 09:35

I'm officially not due until early March but my first was early so will likely be waiting a few more weeks! Only finished work yesterday and have started to get very mild period like cramps now so feeling like body is starting to acknowledge we'll have a baby soon but I'm under no illusion will be a while yet! Also haven't packed hospital bag!

Hhdxx · 08/02/2025 18:31

How's everyone doing?

I'm starting to feel really achy now down there and on my sides. It's so achy just to roll over in bed 😳 Just 3 more sleeps for me. I'm absolutely terrified. I never got this far with my little girl so every symptom is being over analysed. Xxx

Kumquat89 · 08/02/2025 18:59

@Hhdxx you are so close now! I’m with you with the sleep and rolling in bed. For me it’s my tailbone that is bothering me. Plus I’m waking up every couple of hours and then take the opportunity to pee (3-4 times every night). I wonder how I’ll have any energy when it’s time for labour to start. 😴

Anyone starting to have some signs this weekend ? A tiny bit of my mucus plug came off today. Not enough to get me excited 🤭 nothing else

jaybeez · 08/02/2025 20:14

@Kumquat89 I'm definitely symptom spotting now! I've been losing bits of my mucus plug for a couple of days now, and had some mild cramping, but so far nothing major. I need to stop googling signs of labour starting because I'm driving myself a bit mad over analysing everything!

Hhdxx · 08/02/2025 20:41

@Kumquat89 I'm also peeing about 4/5 times a night too! I'm currently getting rid of a UTI so having to drink loads... We're nearly there!

@jaybeez it's so hard not to over analyse every symptoms isn't it?!

Lunalovegod · 09/02/2025 08:27

Just to update: Baby Vinnie was born at 12.07am on 5th Feb - deciding to make an appearance on my birthday after all! 🩵

When they eventually broke my waters, I was put on the drip, but 7 hours later hadn't made much progression and wasn't dilating properly. I was having the contractions but all they appeared to be doing was causing baby distress and his heart rate kept dipping after each one, so we stopped the drip and opted for emergency c-section.

Left hospital Friday and I'm finally feeling better after such a long stay in there and a rather awful experience. It was nothing like my first birth, but he is perfect and healthy and absolutely amazing 🥰

Kumquat89 · 09/02/2025 09:35

@Lunalovegod oh wow 🤩 double birthday in the family. It’s a possibility for us too as my husband’s is on the 21st. Many congratulations. Must be so good to be finally home with your little one after such a tiring stay at the hospital.

@jaybeez i run out of things to google 🫣 nothing last night for me. Don’t feel like I’m giving birth today at least.

Onthedouble123 · 09/02/2025 10:01

@Lunalovegod congratulations on his safe arrival! 🩵
Sorry it wasn't the best experience. I hope that's all a distant memory now that you're home. But it's fine to be a bit down about it too if not!
Enjoy the newborn bubble now that you're home xx

QuantumPanic · 09/02/2025 11:27

Congratulations @Lunalovegod ! 💙 Hope you're enjoying your first weekend at home with your new baby. Happy birthday to both of you! 🥳

ThisLimeDeer · 09/02/2025 11:28

Congratulations @Lunalovegod ❤️. I love the name Vinnie!
@UncharteredWaters good luck to you too! I can’t wait for Thursday, the closer it gets the more nervous I am but also so so excited. I’m trying to find myself little jobs to do every day to make sure I’m not just sitting here twiddling my thumbs but time seems to be dragging.
It’s gone a little bit quiet here so I’m guessing we’re all just waiting, I hope everyone is okay.

QuantumPanic · 09/02/2025 11:31

@MrsK23 Any news? I had a lot of mucus come out yesterday (tmi, sorry) but still zero cramping/contractions. 🤡 Actually feels a little better having hit the 41w mark - surely it can't be more than 10 days before (a very well-baked) baby appears...

superj21 · 09/02/2025 12:00

I've been having what I think might be early labour contractions but it's so hard to tell as a FTM 🫣 they feel sort of like BH but with lower back pains / cramps. I've been timing and they seem to vary about 8-15 mins apart. So hard to know! My due date is tomorrow but I have been so sure he's going to arrive late so I don't want to get my hopes up!

CharliePoppins · 09/02/2025 13:21

Aww congratulations @Lunalovegod ! 🥰

Having my ELCS tomorrow (39+3), was quite calm about it, but now its all suddenly feeling very very real, and surreal. My family are going bonkers (DD will be first grandchild, and im an only child) which is adding pressure, but they don’t know my section date is tomorrow so im trying to play it cool on the group chats😅

Anyone else really anxious/overwhelmed with emotions as their due date approaches? Such a weird feeling knowing we will finally meet DD tomorrow. Can’t quite believe it.

Yes it’s really weird isn’t it?! There’s a lot of excitement but also nerves, feelings of not knowing what to do and not quite believing that we’re having an actual baby!!

Kumquat89 · 09/02/2025 14:28

@superj21 sounds promising. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Keep us updated. 🤗

superj21 · 09/02/2025 19:08

Thanks @Kumquat89 ! It's been consistent all day but hasn't got any worse so who knows.

Onthedouble123 · 09/02/2025 19:46

@superj21 hopefully it will progress and you'll be sure they're on their way soon. Good luck! Maybe we will wake up to some news from you!

And good luck for tomorrow as well @CharliePoppins! We've got a little wait still for ours yet but need to be at the hospital for 6am on section day so our daughter will sleep out. I said to my husband I'm quite sad we won't all be together for our final evening as a 3! I don't expect you'll get much sleep this evening as much as you could do with it! 🙈 Xx
