Handhold, 12 week scan today

I’m petrified. Both my previous pregnancies I was told at my routine dating scan ‘I’m sorry there’s no heartbeat’. Both times I’d had a positive early scan at 8 weeks and no bleeding / cramping.

I don’t know how I’ll cope if it happens a 3rd time. Friends keep announcing their pregnancies to me. How do I cope?

Keep reminding yourself that having a positive 12 week scan is statistically the most likely outcome after seeing a heartbeat previously.

It's incredibly hard to stay calm on the build up to scans after 1, 2 or more losses and I'm afraid the anxiety doesn't really leave you completely.

Take a deep breath, clear your mind and focus your thoughts on a healthy pregnancy. Come back later and update us.

DH is coming with me. He couldn’t come the second time as he had Covid, which wasn’t great!

I feel like I should feel something in my stomach now? It’s completely flat and soft and normal. I know it’s early for a bump but at least a hardening, or some weight gain only I would notice? Is this normal? I’m 12+0.

Wishing you the best of luck OP. I felt absolutely no hardness at 12 weeks, not even a hint of a bump. Baby is the size of a Lego man and very tucked into your pelvis at that point so don't worry abut that xx

Oh im so sorry about your previous experiences. Good luck. Don't worry about not having a bump. The only reason i had a bump at my 12 week scan was because it was a few days after an indulgent Christmas. Xx

What time is your scan? Fingers crossed OP!

I never felt any physical signs of pregnancy until I Ed about 18 weeks so I wouldn’t worry that this was a sign of anything being wrong. I didn’t even have morning sickness or anything. I hope it all goes well x

Good luck. I had a missed miscarriage once, I cant imagine twice I feel so awful for you having to go through that again.
I did get pregnant again after and it was successful and many of my friends have had the same happen. So hopefully today will be your turn.
I didn’t have a bump at 12 weeks except with my second baby which is quite common I think! First time around I wouldn’t expect to. Just really bad sickness x

I so hope for you that it's 3rd time lucky ! it was for me and that was many years ago.

This is normal. I didn't have a bump until my third trimester. Best of luck with the scan!
