I havnt posted on here for a while but yes @Montelukast I've found it very overwhelming at times (I'm 22 weeks pregnant now) it's so hard being pregnant. Do you have any other kids or is this your 1st? I really recommend doing stuff for yourself. I've just started going swimming again and doing pregnancy yoga which makes me feel sooooo much better about everything (especially the swimming).

Hi!
thanks for your message! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one :)
this is my first, and I’ve always always wanted to have children and I found the whole TTC journey really hard at times thinking it was never going to happen! So I’m so happy and grateful that it is! But you are right pregnancy is challenging at times. I hadn’t realised the mental challenges would be as difficult as the physical ones!
ohhh I’m glad you had a good experience with pregnancy yoga- I’ve booked a course of classes but it doesn’t start until march. :)
I would quite like to go swimming - kind of worried about over exerting myself ! Do you do like normal lane swimming or do you go to a class ? I did a bit of swimming before I was pregnant but I’m certainly not the most athletic of people !

Montelukast · 15/01/2025 12:56

Thanks :) it’s nice to know other people find it overwhelming too!
I completely agree with what you said about resting and working. Everyone keeps telling me to rest and take it easy which I feel is easy to say but I work full time long days in healthcare - not the easiest place to rest and look after yourself.
thank you for the advice - I’ll buy some more baby clothes :D

my understanding is you can take any outstanding annual leave before or after your May leave - you have to agree with your employer though. I’m taking all this years allocation (July-july) before my May leave and any I accrue during I’ll take after.

Herewegoagain8 · 15/01/2025 13:14

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed too mainly because I like to be quite organised but we have a house move that’s imminent (hopefully before baby arrives) so I can’t set up a room or even put clothes etc in a set of drawers for the baby until we’re moved in. I have two other small children that keeps me busy so some days I’m fairly shattered what with them and trying to pack up the house and work etc. I’m a little stressed it’s all going to happen at once!

My 20 week scan seems a while ago now but we didn’t find out the sex so have been thinking of names for both boys and girls. Has everyone decided names yet or are you waiting until baby arrives?

That’s so understandable if you are moving! That’s stressful in itself!

We’ve picked the name :D have you got a shortlist yet?

Jess2826 · 16/01/2025 16:47

We are busy trying to pick out a boys name for our little one. Girls names seem so much easier to pick!

BrightGoose · 16/01/2025 18:13

We haven’t really been thinking of names but today we had a brain storm, I love one name husband not so keen but it does match our other children’s names. He’s quiet laid back and indecisive so I’m sure he’ll change his mind when he can’t think of one himself 😂

Herewegoagain8 · 16/01/2025 19:30

@Montelukast I’m trying not to get too stressed as I can’t do anything about dates, if I’m due when we’re moving I’ll just have to deal!

I would love to have a shortlist but me and DH have difficulty agreeing on names. He named our first two so I told him my list as I wanted to name this one and we’ve managed to agree one girls name and one boys name out of my favourites.

Hi all - has anyone experienced this?

im 21 weeks now, had a small amount of milky brown spotting today. Also getting some tingly shooting pains behind my belly button and down right hand side of uterus.

Called my maternity line who have told me not to worry if it’s not red.

But obv I’m very stressed and worried. It’s the same colour as my luteal phase spotting so feeling very triggered!

placenta is anterior and high, and no signs of SCH

I’ve not had exactly the same but I had a small amount of pink spotting just when I wiped when I was 21 almost 22 weeks. I was advised to go to triage but they didn’t find anything wrong. All I can put it down to was I think I just overdid it the day before, lifted a heavy box and was stretching up a lot to put up Christmas decorations. It’s not happened since.

If you’re worried go to the hospital and ask to be checked over. Try and rest up too. Easier said than done I know!

Sierra26 · 17/01/2025 20:32

Thanks for sharing @Dojo13 . Has all been okay since?

I was lifting and moving lots at the gym this morning so wondering if it was related to that. Although I was doing a lot less than I normally do and less even than the last few weeks.

im still getting the funny pains but no more spotting.

definitely going to prioritise rest this weekend!

Hi all, hope you don't me jumping on! I'm 22 weeks now, and I can't believe how quick this is going. I have starting properly buying some bits this week trying to get organised. This will be my third baby, and I am still surprised how much we need.

I'm suffering from a few anxieties this time around, for no particular reason, just want her to be here nice and healthy in May and my brain thinks of everything that could go wrong, even though everything has gone perfectly.

Anyone else in the same position and how do you snap yourself out of it, and stop being so silly??

Hope you're all well x

Hey. I’m feeling similar. 25 weeks with our 3rd and have anxieties that I probably didn’t have so much with my other 2. I don’t know how much of it is that we already have a lovely family unit so change is a scary prospect. I worry about anything happening to me, not for my sake but for my kids who need their Mum. I try not to dive into it too much.

We are all super excited though. Especially my kids. Like you I really need to get organised, I feel like I should have everything but I’ve got so much to do. Not to mention the thinking of names situation.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 18/01/2025 16:36

@Coastalmummie You're at the same stage as me, due the 19th of may. Had my 20 week scan on the 6th of January, they said that it looks like my placenta is completely covering the cervix and possibly some of the blood vessels from the placenta are covering the cervix too, I have an appointment at the fetal medicine unit next month.
I have been feeling anxious at times as this is an ivf pregnancy ( third transfer ) we found at a private scan we are having a little boy, my son is made up and excited 😊
I've been buying a few little bits and sorting through clothes. Going to buy a few new bits as we sorted through what we kept in the garage and some had gone a bit funny.
I try and keep myself occupied, doing little bits and bobs, have become slightly addicted to going on vinted 🙂 xx

BodeAkuna · 18/01/2025 16:45

Hello everyone, I'm enjoying seeing this thread and getting closer. I am due on the 14th of May and I'm feeling so much movement this time! This is third baby and the elder two love feeling the kicks! I'm knackered and still slightly sick but not vomiting anymore
Good luck to everyone with a low placenta, mine is too but it's always moved high enough before. I feel really excited to pack my hospital bag but will hold off!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 18/01/2025 16:53

@BodeAkuna I had a anterior placenta when I had my son eight years ago and this time posterior placenta, I'm pretty certain I've been feeling movements these last few weeks.
It's crazy how the placenta can move up, I was told 9 out of 10 do, but I am concerned as they said possible blood vessels are over the cervix, fetal medicine unit appointment on the 14th of February.

BodeAkuna · 18/01/2025 16:58

Good luck! Mine was covering my section scar last time and they suspected accreta but detailed scan showed it was all fine.
Wishing everything smooths out for everyone! And for those not feeling much movement - it was later for me first two times

Rainbowsunshine81 · 18/01/2025 17:51

@BodeAkuna I'm hoping it will be ok when I go next month. At my scan they did ask if I'd had any problems with my c section scar, but none that I can think of. I do know that the placenta had become stuck afterwards.

Yeah I’ve not no issues since then. Have also had my 25 week midwife appointment and heard the heartbeat again so hoping it was just a one off.

How have you been getting on? Did you manage to rest up a bit?

Sierra26 · 20/01/2025 22:08

That’s great @Dojo13 , and really nice you got to hear the heartbeat again.

I didn’t get any more symptoms so not feeling so worried. I did rest a lot. Also hoping I’ll get to hear heartbeat at my appt later this week!

Although - I will only be 22 weeks at this appt and I thought the next one was 24, for issuing matb1 etc. They booked it for me so should be right, but I don’t want to waste time if they’re just going to send me home so might call tomorrow to check.

BrightGoose · 22/01/2025 15:00

How is everyone’s bumps coming along I’m starting to feel very pregnant 😂

25 weeks today and I feel huge!! 🙈

I think my bump is bigger now than it was near the end of my first pregnancy and I'm already having back/hip issues. Plus this baby will not stop moving!

Don't know how I'm going to survive to the end of this with a 2 year old in tow as well 😆

Rainbowsunshine81 · 22/01/2025 16:43

I'm 23 weeks + 2 and I think I've been feeling little movement, but i don't know if it's all the time or each day. I have a posterior placenta. I've read from 24 weeks to start keeping track?

Jess2826 · 22/01/2025 18:53

In 23 weeks tomorrow and feeling a fair bit of movement now. Bump is growing and I'm definitely starting to feel some aches and pains in y lower back especially if I'm stood for long periods.

BrightGoose · 22/01/2025 20:00

I’m on my feet for 12 hours at work and I keep getting pelvic pain when I lift my legs I think it’s SPD the physio is ringing my Friday so I am going to mention it to her.

my placenta is at the front and I can still feel movements for example little lady didn’t wake up this morning til later and didn’t start moving until gone 10 o’clock I was starting to worry but she’s been fine since..
