I've been having some backache and sometimes stitches if I stand up too quick.
I think I've been feeling little jabs here and there.

How is everyone’s bumps coming along I’m starting to feel very pregnant 😂

Getting bigger every day! Like others, lots of aches and I get a "heavy" feeling in my calves and pelvis after standing up too long. Baby currently kicking or punching my bladder

TheBeesKnee · 23/01/2025 00:12

LeBonBon · 22/01/2025 15:13

25 weeks today and I feel huge!! 🙈

I think my bump is bigger now than it was near the end of my first pregnancy and I'm already having back/hip issues. Plus this baby will not stop moving!

Don't know how I'm going to survive to the end of this with a 2 year old in tow as well 😆

I'm in the exact same situation! I'm hobbling around like an old lady with sore hips towards the end of the day.

We've ordered a new bed and mattress which should arrive next week so I'm really looking forward to that.

I have been so exhausted that I've been taking afternoon naps then catching up with work in the evenings. Nasty habit but I don't understand how women managed to be pregnant and go into the office every single bloody day!

BodeAkuna · 23/01/2025 11:05

Sounds like a great habit!

TheBeesKnee · 23/01/2025 11:45

I'd like to have a small whinge about my antenatal care. This is my second pregnancy and I was in the care of community midwives until I was diagnosed with GDM around 30 weeks. The community centre is a 5 minute walk from my house so it was very convenient. The midwives were lovely and I just had a nice, relaxing experience.

This time around I am consultant led due to the GDM and have to go to the hospital for appointments so that they can keep a closer eye on me 🧐 except I've just had another letter (3rd or 4th now I think) changing my appointment from a face to face one to a phone call. This is for the diabetes midwife appointment not the regular ones, but still I feel like it defeats the point of keeping a closer eye on me if they're not keeping an eye on me at all!

Beccaa123 · 24/01/2025 15:54

Has anyone else had this...
I felt like I was wetting my pants, I went to the bathroom to check and they were dry, no discharge either. I had a strange feeling around my urethra area that made me think this

SnakebitesandSambucas · 24/01/2025 18:09

Hi all long time lurker on the previous threads and infertility boards. This is my 15th pregnancy 2 loving children. I'm due on the 28th may. I know you lot will understand the mix of fear happiness, guilt etc. I decided not to find out the sex off the baby. But my mental health is definitely struggling!

FizzlesFirst · 26/01/2025 09:20

How is everyone doing?
I'm 23 weeks now and yet to feel movements (I think!).
Baby has been very active at scans, and I have an anterior placenta, so have been told I might not feel anything until much later. It's so hard though - all the weekly emails talk about getting to know baby's movements and how people can't sleep for kicking. Right now, I'd give anything for a sleepless night because of a fidgety baby!
Gonna book in for a private scan next week though for reassurance.

We've bought nothing for baby yet! Went to visit a Mamas and Papas a few weeks back and ended up crying in the store as I felt so overwhelmed! But we're in the middle of trying to sell our house, so no idea where we might be come May. At this rate, baby will be sleeping in a drawer 🤣

December and January has been manic and stressful with family illness and bereavement, plus a load of other work and study stress. The pregnancy has been the least stressful thing! I just want everything else to stop so I can take time to enjoy it!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 26/01/2025 11:26

I have been feeling movements for a weeks now but definitely getting stronger. I haven't brought anything yet! Seems so surreal.

BodeAkuna · 26/01/2025 18:37

Yes to Becca- i've had the exact same feeling and it's very disconcerting. It always reminds me to do my kegels

Totally understand about pp worrying. I and most of my friends have had losses, it's terrible. So sorry for what you have gone through and hope you feel better as you get closer to the due date

I've bought quite a few things! A couple of sleep suits and some second hand bits - I love looking at them. Also some things to go in my hospital bag - it's a long drive to the hospital so we wouldn't be able to go back

I love telephone appointments because they save the travel and waiting - are you worried they won't spot something by not seeing you in person?

TheBeesKnee · 26/01/2025 23:28

@FizzlesFirst this is my second pregnancy with an anterior placenta and this time around I started feeling movement much earlier than last time, but still later than people with a posterior placenta. I think maybe I just know the to look out for now? I feel it most when I'm lounging around on the sofa or in bed, and definitely after some chocolate.

I felt the same as you the first time around but by the time I was 8 months pregnant and feeling kicks properly and needing to pee every few hours in the night, I felt extremely glad that I could sleep through the kicking and didn't have that keeping me up all night as well 🤣

@BodeAkuna my issue is that I was taken off community midwife led care so that they could keep a closer eye on me and they're actually keeping a further away eye on me! It just seems counter intuitive to say that I need closer monitoring this time around and then monitor me LESS than the first time around when I was deemed "low risk". They can't take urine samples, blood pressure etc over the phone so I'm not seeing the benefit.

The community centre was a 5 minute walk away and they were really good at keeping to time, so I really didn't mind going in person.

Hello ladies.

A wee question for those of you on your second/third pregnancy....

I've not seen the midwife since booking in appt at 8 weeks

I'm consultant led and have had the following appointments;

8 week booking
12 week scan
18 week consultant
20 week scan

Next appointment showing on badger app is 28 weeks, again with the consultant.

I've not heard heartbeat at all and wondering if I should be having a 24 week appointment?

Also not had mat1b form either.

Is this just how it is when it's not a first DC?

Or do you think I should contact my midwife team?

X

XioXio · 27/01/2025 15:59

This page from NHS shows what appointments you should have and what they are for.
2nd + pregnancy has no 24 week appointment

At your consultant appointment did they check urine sample and blood pressure? That's all the midwife would do if you saw them.
I saw midwife for about 2 mins and then had consultant appointment straight after.
They don't routinely listen to heartbeat at 16 week appointment

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/01/2025 16:40

@24CRZZNKKA I've seen my named midwife once and that was at my booking in appointment, then I saw another midwife at the 15 weeks appointment. Will next see her at 28 weeks, but she said I could see her sooner which I might do. I've had my 12 weeks scan and 20 weeks scan.
Haven't had my maternity certificate neither.
I have an appointment at the fetal medicine unit next month due to placenta previa, then a anesthesetic appointment, due to previous c section. Will have an appointment with a consultant from the medical department and then a follow up with a consultant midwife in March.

microwoods · 27/01/2025 16:54

Hi @24CRZZNKKA just echoing others really but this is my second pregnancy and I had a booking appointment at 8 weeks, a midwife appointment at 15 weeks (supposed to be 16 but my midwife was away) and then my next one will be at 28 weeks.

I saw a midwife at my 12 week scan and had bloods/urine and blood pressure checked but haven't had any checks since. I thought I'd have it after the 20 week scan but we were sent straight home after it so didn't see anyone!

It does seem a bit strange that I'm almost 25 weeks and haven't had any urine/BP checks for 10 weeks! If anything feels off though you can call your triage and they should see you x

SnakebitesandSambucas · 27/01/2025 17:19

Just got told today, my midwife is changing due to her being unwell. Anyone swopped this late stage? I'm consultant lead as well but it makes me nervous having to go over everything again. My anxiety is bad enough!

24CRZZNKKA · 27/01/2025 17:27

Thanks everyone, must be normal then.

No blood tests or BP etc with the consultant. It was just for going over my risk factors for birth, was a pretty quick appointment.

Il wait until 28 week appointment and see what happens at that one.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/01/2025 17:52

@24CRZZNKKA I think that you should be seen the same amount of times regardless of what number pregnancy it is.

microwoods · 27/01/2025 18:35

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/01/2025 17:52

@24CRZZNKKA I think that you should be seen the same amount of times regardless of what number pregnancy it is.

I think in England you get a couple more midwife appointments in your first pregnancy x

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/01/2025 20:13

@microwoods Yep, that's right. X

BrightGoose · 27/01/2025 20:28

Yeah you should have had a midwife appointment at 16 weeks I had both midwife and telephone consultant appointment in my 16th week. You can always request an appointment if you think you need to be seen.

I had my MATB1 form and my whooping cough injection at my 20week scan all done at the hospital

Zeeha · 27/01/2025 20:45

I'm in the North East of England. I've had a midwife appointment at 16 weeks and 24 weeks for this pregnancy so far. Third pregnancy and second child. Future booked appointments so far are to see a fetal medicine consultant at 26 weeks. Next midwife appointment was going to be 28 weeks but as I'm already seeing a consultant and having an ultrasound scan the day she wished to book in, she pushed it back to 29 weeks. Then further ultrasound scan at 31 weeks.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/01/2025 21:07

I haven't had my whooping cough vaccine yet, apparently it will be from 28 weeks? I did ring my GP to book it, but they said to ring again in a couple of weeks.
I'm going to ring about my maternity certificate

Zeeha · 27/01/2025 21:20

Hi @Rainbowsunshine81 the midwife gave me the whooping cough vaccine at my 16 week appointment. I was told it's the RSV one they do later on, so I'm expecting that in a few weeks time. The flu and covid ones I had early in the first trimester.
