@Dojo13 aww good luck hope baby stays put so you get your elective section. It’s exciting!

About 30 mins after I wrote that comment I lost my mucus plug (it was also bloody). I rang triage but they said I don’t need to go in. I guess it could either be hours or days still.

How long did it take for anyone who has experienced it to go into active labour after losing your mucus plug? I live an hour from the hospital and still want a c section so trying to avoid getting caught out too late 😅

Rainbowsunshine81 · 20/04/2025 12:12

@AutumnalPuffin Congratulations! ❤️

Rainbowsunshine81 · 20/04/2025 12:12

@Dojo13 Hope you're ok ❤️

SnakebitesandSambucas · 20/04/2025 12:46

@Dojo13 I wouldn't wait personally I would get straight to the hospital. Try not to eat or drink anything. Good luck xx

microwoods · 20/04/2025 13:16

@Dojo13I lost my mucus plug at around 11:30pm and had my DD at 10:12am the next day, though my waters went before my plug!

Hope all is well x

WildWhirlwind · 20/04/2025 15:12

@AutumnalPuffin congratulations!! How exciting! Wishing you a blissful week and a safe journey home. 🌻

Toothfairy0113 · 20/04/2025 16:47

@AutumnalPuffin oh my word, congratulations!! Lovely news and glad all is well ❤️

@Rainbowsunshine81 yes! We nipped in to town a couple of days ago and as we were walking back to the car I was saying to my husband everytime I took a step I felt like I needed to wee 🙈😂 Felt like baby was really pressing down x

Oh wow congratulations @AutumnalPuffin! Very exciting @Dojo13!

@Toothfairy0113 I'm getting this everytime I walk anywhere, I must look a sight wincing with every step!

I've finally packed our hospital bags this weekend as I was getting nervous. I'm 37w4d today and this was the exact point I started my induction with DD so I'm feeling all the feels today. I remember being so excited to meet her 😭

Rainbowsunshine81 · 20/04/2025 17:58

@Toothfairy0113 Sometimes it stops me in my tracks where I have to take some deep breaths. Must be really pressing down at times 😀

Same!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Toothfairy0113 · 20/04/2025 18:20

Was just walking somewhere right now and said to my husband i'm glad I don't still do the job I did when I was pregnant with my girls and that i'm sat most of the time in my job now otherwise I think I would have had to have finished before now... Still got this week and next week at work!

BrightGoose · 21/04/2025 11:54

Is anyone else suffering from insomnia I can fall asleep easy but I am up for hours in the night, not sure if it’s anxiety related or I am just so uncomfortable… I’ve been fine up until this point but the last week I’ve really struggled sleeping

Me! The last week has been awful, my body feels really restless which is also causing me to get up and do jobs round the house during the night😂

Yep, on and off. I was up from 3am-6am on Wednesday last week and had work 😫 I cried when I got up for work, I was so tired 🙈🤣

Jess2826 · 21/04/2025 15:27

I've been off work the last 2 weeks for Easter and have been woken up at 6.15am on the dot by the dog everyday. Luckily my partner is amazing and when he gets home from work at 6.45am sends me back up for a couple more hours sleep. But this morning I just wanted to cry, I'm back to work tomorrow for 2 weeks before I leave for maternity leave and I don't know how I'm going to wake up early for the next 9 shifts. My hips are also aching when I sleep, feels like someone is sat on them.
Anyway.. rant over 😆

LeBonBon · 21/04/2025 16:10

I just keep waking up uncomfortable and hot - like I'm having hot flashes?

Luckily I had my last day at work on Thursday so can finally nap in the day! I used to not be able to sleep during the daylight at all but days off with my 2 year old running around has cured me of that ha!

BrightGoose · 21/04/2025 16:21

I keep waking up sweating like wet through I did think maybe I was coming down with something but it appears to be my normal now 😂

aww it’s so frustrating isn’t it when your tired !

Rainbowsunshine81 · 21/04/2025 16:30

I've been waking up sometimes sweating and hot. 🥵
Can I ask are any of you planning on using sleeping bags for the babies? I've seen purflo ones.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 21/04/2025 16:38

Hot flushes here as well. I just used a baby sleeping bag. Baby nests aren't advised unless supervised even then they can overheat. I'm getting such bad ligament pains and it's agony when I cough 🫨.

BrightGoose · 21/04/2025 16:52

I haven’t got any sleeping bags yet I have one small swaddle blanket, I know you can’t use the sleeping bags until they are a certain weight anyway unless you get the newborn ones, that’s next weeks issue !

SnakebitesandSambucas · 21/04/2025 16:56

Aw the newborn ones are adorable got a lovely pic of my youngest in one. FB Market place is great for bundles. Both of mine couldn't stand the swaddle turned red screaming trying to escape 😳. They hated it! I'm topping up my freezer food for lazy one handed meals I can heat back up x

BrightGoose · 21/04/2025 18:13

I actually just went to Tesco and they have some 2.5 tog ones for 4.50 and three grey swaddles for 4.50! So I grabbed some
of those, I’m just like a magpie at the min collecting a few bits at a time for my hospital bag

SnakebitesandSambucas · 21/04/2025 18:23

Ooh I might have a look at the weekend. As we have a big one close to us. I don't often get too much brand new stuff but at that price point it's not too bad. Keep forgetting summer babies. As mine were when it was cold!
