@LozC0411 wow our stories are currently so similar aren’t they. I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on how you’re getting on and wishing you all the best. Like you I’d gladly not hear about shoulder dystocia again! Weirdly my daughter got slightly stuck but across her chest rather than the obviously much more serious shoulder dystocia. Mind you much as it was heavily discussed at the time; nobody wrote it in my notes so I’m not actually sure they believe me now 🙈 Like you induction would also obviously not be my first choice but if it avoids serious risks and keeps baby and I both safe that’s the most important thing.

Our stories are very similar! Selfishly as well I just want baby here now and if it means it reduces risks then I’ll do it and who knows maybe we will have positive induction experiences🤗On another note I’ve been having some painful pulling sensations during the night which I’m not sure what they could be?

I'm 35+5 today.. Has anyone else found their hunger has really ramped up at this stage?? I've felt RAVENOUS for the last couple of days which really hasn't been like me so far (still struggling with food aversions).. I've already eaten 3 times today so far 😱🙈

Hope everyone's doing ok. Sounds like some are having a stressful time... Sending hugs ❤️

Rainbowsunshine81 · 19/04/2025 12:33

Have any of you been experiencing pressure like really down low, almost like you constantly need to go for a wee?
Also can I ask when would be good to go for a nursing bra fitting?
Hope everyone is ok. Xx

BrightGoose · 19/04/2025 12:42

My ligaments are so painful especially at night but over the last three days I’ve been doing a lot of stretching and it’s helped so much ! Today I got up and i didn’t feel hardly any pain. I have just been doing stretches for spd and opening up my pelvis stuff I found on YouTube.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 19/04/2025 13:37

Hi everyone! I ended up getting a good nursing bra from Primark really comfy. My bump is huge now but nearly a month to go. Full of hormones hot cold flushes and I'm crying a lot. Poor kids are looking at me like 🫨😵‍💫😵. Got my growth scan tomorrow to check femurs. Got my C-section date so that's calmed me then made me panic with all the stuff I need to do 😯. Been getting a lot of Braxton hicks and back pain. Hope this baby is more patient as I don't fancy another GA!

Poster57 · 19/04/2025 13:48

@LozC0411 i have that too. Having never gone into labour naturally I was questioning it last night. I figured if it developed into anything it would have woken me up - would be quite nice to just go into labour and that’s that. Mind you it’s so easy to question every twinge at this point isn’t it.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 19/04/2025 13:53

@SnakebitesandSambucas I haven't had a look in Primark for nursing bras. I have seen some nice one in H&M that look quite comfy, it's just not knowing which size to get as they do small, medium, large and extra large.

again glad it’s not just me… it was really quite strong last night along with Braxton hicks which I’ve been having for a fair few weeks now😂 This is my first so everything is so new to me and causes me to question every little twinge especially as I’m 38 weeks🫣

SnakebitesandSambucas · 19/04/2025 14:04

I went into early labour with my second. And 6hrs was enough for me lol. But I needed a C-section for my sanity. So I was never going to try a vaginal birth. Hope everyone gets the labour they want! 🙏🏻. Yes Primark do sizes not just S/M/L x

SnakebitesandSambucas · 19/04/2025 14:09

My boobs have always got bigger during pregnancy. Did the concrete boobs when milk came in, then more or less settled down. But my the fitting was never exact as you never know what your boobs will do. I have one slightly bigger boob as they both had a preference for the right 🤭. Depends also if your big busted I got a 36dd now. Once your bump goes down you have more room. I wouldn't panic if you buy the wrong size as loads on Amazon which are basically the same as the store ones.

Poster57 · 19/04/2025 14:21

@LozC0411 well if it helps give you some hope; this is my 3rd and is the first pregnancy where I’ve even had any braxton hicks at all. Not that I know what they mean yet, if anything but I was induced over term with both of them so I’m thinking that braxton hicks must be a good sign this time! 🤞🤞 maybe I should eventually pack that bag 🙈😂 I’m 38 weeks on Monday, there must be literally a couple of days in it with us 😂

SnakebitesandSambucas · 19/04/2025 14:28

@Poster57 @LozC0411 pop a bet on 😆 🐎

😂🙈we are so so close together!!
I finished packing my bag about a week ago so if your week next week is going to be the same as how mine went then pack that bag!😂 I’m just waiting on a call to confirm me going in on Wednesday however with it being bank holiday on Monday I’m thinking it won’t be till Tuesday that I hear anything more now? My midwife I’ve had during pregnancy is also working from Thursday so she said she will be assisting me in labour which is lovely as it’s a familiar face and we get on really well😊

@SnakebitesandSambucas That's true as you never know what your boobs will do. Amazon does come in handy for everything doesn't it and usually come quickly which is good 🙂

My baby missed the May memo by arriving unexpectedly on two days ago at 36+1 whilst visiting family in Scotland! It’s so strange to think that at the beginning of the week I’d just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was having to consider inductions and Caesarian sections and by the end of the week she has arrived through spontaneous vaginal birth and is now in my arms and healthy. We have been advised to remain in hospital for a couple more days for observation with her being pre-term but she hasn’t needed any intervention and I’m just really looking forward to getting home and into my own bed!

@BrightGoose very much hope that the iron tablets are having an effect and you’re feeling more energised. And no, I had none of the risk factors for GDM which is why I think I was so shocked by it all!

@SnakebitesandSambucas I’m so pleased that the Caesarian’s didn’t impact upon your ability to begin breastfeeding- particularly as having just had a vaginal birth - if I’m ever in this position again then I’m having a caesarean!

I went into triage on Friday because I noticed my BP was high (have been checking it at home as it’s been high at most appointments but has always gone under the threshold after a few tries) ended up staying in for almost 12 hours because they picked up on the monitor what looked like contractions. I was told I was about 1cm dialated but the tightening stopped so I came home. I think I had my bloody show yesterday and had backache for a while and a bit of cramping but again it went away so just waiting now really. Have got my pre op on Tuesday and elective section booked for Thursday so we’ll see if I make it to then 🙏🏻

BrightGoose · 20/04/2025 09:34

@Dojo13 aww good luck hope baby stays put so you get your elective section. It’s exciting!

AutumnalPuffin · 20/04/2025 10:38

Thank you for all your congratulations!

It’s all been a bit surreal as I’d come to Scotland with my toddler to help my mother in law who has just had her hip replaced when I was awoken at 5am by my waters breaking: I really thought that I had incorporated it into the dream I was having but it’s quite a wake up call. Thankfully I was able to call my husband who was able to get the train up and meet me in the hospital as I went into labour properly after lunch and had my daughter naturally that evening weighing 6lbs and 9oz. We have been asked to stay for three days due to her being premature but she’s not required any help and is a small delight - I am very pleased indeed!

Wishing you all well with your births as they approach!
