My little one gets hiccups all the time too it’s so funny … all three of mine have which I find cute

LozC0411 · 07/04/2025 17:02

Mine also gets the hiccups loads!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 07/04/2025 17:44

@Dojo13 I haven't really heard about the NCT classes. I meant to ring today about the bump birth and beyond class, will ring tomorrow and ask, also about the breastfeeding workshop.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 07/04/2025 17:47

I think our little night owl has been getting hiccups, go on for some time. Sometimes my bump feels a bit sore and hard at times which I'm putting down to what position he is in and maybe Braxton hicks.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/04/2025 18:02

Lots of hiccups here! My eldest two had them as well. Think I over did today as I'm pain now 😞. Has anyone else got their nursing bra yet? Really annoyed at myself as I gave mine away a couple of months before I knew I was pregnant and they had lasted me for nearly 8yrs!!! I just can't stand the material of some of them and the awful beige or stripes bleugh. No offence to anyone who likes them. But I just can't stand them and just because I'm nursing doesn't mean I lose all my identity 😎. Seen some ones from hot milk advertised but they seem expensive. Anyone got any other shops other than good old marks and sparks 🙂

Rainbowsunshine81 · 07/04/2025 18:52

@SnakebitesandSambucas I'm hoping to go and get measured in the next few weeks. Marks have some alright ones that I've seen.
I went into h&M a couple of weeks ago and their nursing bras seem quite nice and soft, so thinking of getting some of those and I think you can get a three pack for something like £22 rather than just one for that price in marks.

AutumnalPuffin · 07/04/2025 19:49

@SnakebitesandSambucas I got a couple of bras from Hot Milk for breastfeeding my daughter and whilst they weren’t the perfect fit because of the huge discrepancy in bra sizing across brands: I absolutely loved them as they too made me feel like me and the magnet design was excellent in being able to clip and unclip easily so I’d really recommend them.

GraySweatpants · 07/04/2025 20:56

I absolutely swear by these by H&M. The outer fabric feels most like a “normal” bra (soft satin?) and it’s reasonably priced. I don’t really like the feel of cotton bras and just want something basic and normal looking under clothes. These last me the whole 18 months of constant wearing for breastfeeding my first. They’re still fine now just got a bit loosen up.

Last time I had some from Bravado and Hot Milk. I can recommend both for those with larger breasts, especially with small back sizes. The bravado ones are more plain and stretchy which worked well in the early days. Then I got some from Hot milk that were more lacy and had wires when my milk had settled down.

I tend to just use crop top bras. I started wearing them in lockdown and never looked back 😂 I just lifted it from the bottom to whip a boob out as and when required with DD. They aren’t super supportive (I’m a 38G pre-pregnancy!) but I like them because there’s stretch so they accommodate change in size quite well. I get them from primark or M&S.

Also I had my 34 week midwife appointment yesterday and she hasn’t booked me in for another until 39 weeks which seems ages away! DD came at 37+4 spontaneously so I’m hoping I won’t make it that far. She said that they can offer a sweep at 39 weeks of their own volition, but can also do it from 38 weeks if a consultant puts in your notes that they can.

At this point I’m happy to just wait and let my body do it’s thing, but I don’t know how I’ll feel if I get that far along 😂

BrightGoose · 08/04/2025 12:49

I thought appointments were two weekly after 34 weeks ? Maybe I’m wrong I have an appointment tomorrow but I am little bit more closely monitored because of previous complications

I think it was two weekly from this stage in my last pregnancy. I have a growth scan at 37 weeks so maybe they are just hoping anything would be picked up then! X

LozC0411 · 08/04/2025 12:53

I’m having midwife appointments every 2 weeks as well? As well as regular growth scans still

SnakebitesandSambucas · 08/04/2025 13:05

I'm under consultant care so I get loads of appointments! Less so with my midwife more obstercians! This is my bump!! Apologies for weird edited picture

Did my maternity photo shoot today! Was funny but also quite sentimental

LOVE this set you're wearing 😍

I'm also being seen 2 weekly from now until I pop.

Went for growth scan today.. Baby's measuring right on track (well just above average actually according to charts) at 5lb1 AND THEY'RE HEAD DOWN!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I honestly didn't have much hope of baby going head down after my other 2 being breech but i'm SO happy right now! Just needs to stay there now and not decide to turn again 🤞😫😂 x

SnakebitesandSambucas · 08/04/2025 14:47

@Toothfairy0113 it's two sets Lucy and yak bottoms and m&S wired bra 😆. I'm glad hope they don't turn around!

microwoods · 08/04/2025 15:33

I’m also consultant led due to raised BMI but I didn’t see a consultant until 37 weeks last time and won’t this time either! Thankfully it’s been complication free up to this point. I’m hoping they’ll just sign me off to midwife led care for the labour at my 37 week growth scan. They didn’t want to sign me off last time but DD came quickly after arriving at hospital so they didn’t have time to whisk me off to the obstetric unit!

I’m in no rush for the extra appointments to be honest so I’ll just take it and call triage if anything changes.

@Toothfairy0113i’m so glad they’ve turned! How far along are you now? My midwife says they are unlikely to turn after 36 weeks so hopefully they’ll stay put x

XioXio · 08/04/2025 15:35

Does anyone have any recommendations for compression socks? Socks more so than the flight tights. But will take recommendations for either!
I'm starting to get some slight swelling in one ankle/foot

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/04/2025 16:50

I've had my 34 week appointment with my midwife today and am seeing her again in two weeks time for my 36 week appointment at home and she's made one for me the day before my c section.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/04/2025 16:54

@XioXio I got some compression socks off Amazon.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/04/2025 16:58

I have another growth scan I think in about 3 weeks had one last Sunday and baby boy was weighing about 5 pounds and a half, there abouts.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 08/04/2025 16:59

@XioXio I'm starting to get the dreaded cankles too. No more high heels now! Anyone else finding it difficult to get up from floor? I'm having to do a weird bum shimmy sideways and pull myself up 😆

BrightGoose · 08/04/2025 18:09

Yes getting up from the floor is getting tricky is my husband is there he’ll heave me up 😂 getting out of bed is the absolute worse by far … I keep walking into things recently under estimating my bump size

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/04/2025 18:17

Getting out of bed, I feel like a overturned turtle and have to shuffle myself off the couch, also I find myself sitting down like a man 🙈
