@Dojo13 where you placenta sits has a major effect on how you feel the movements. 🙂

Rainbowsunshine81 · 26/02/2025 16:07

@Dojo13 yes definitely do! This time my placenta is posterior so completely different to my last pregnancy.

LeBonBon · 26/02/2025 16:52

My placenta is anterior/left so I feel crazy big movements on my right side and not much on the left! Yesterday they were strong enough to lift a cushion off my belly!!

I've no idea how baby is laying except that something (probably a foot) is very nearly making contact with my ribs so that will be fun if it continues as he gets bigger 🙃

I'm feeling so exhausted (30 weeks today) but mainly because my 2 year old wakes up at 5am and is like velcro to Mummy now. I think she can sense the change coming. How do people do more than two?! 🫠

My friend was telling me that after around 30 weeks of pregnancy the mother's levels of oxytocin are higher which can cause an increased attraction to them from toddlers/other children. I honestly don't know if it's true because I've not looked it up!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 26/02/2025 18:15

@LeBonBon I remember my eldest said my milk changed and I smelt a bit different with his younger sister!

AutumnalPuffin · 26/02/2025 19:48

I’m 29 weeks and the baby is definitely pressing on my bladder which coupled with a hacking cough has meant that I thought I had a urinary tract infection because the urge, frequency and frankly some incontinence meant I thought something was wrong but as screen has come back clear, I just need to hope the baby moves position soon!

I’m having the anti-D treatment on Friday - has anyone had this yet? What can I expect?

SnakebitesandSambucas · 26/02/2025 19:58

@AutumnalPuffin no anti d injections. But I do have an awful hacking chesty cough. It's been pretty rough. Got an echo scan on my heart next week so that will be interesting!

LeBonBon · 26/02/2025 20:24

@AutumnalPuffin I've had anti-d both pregnancies as I'm o negative and both babies have been positive. It's like a normal vaccine-type injection into the arm like covid or flu. Bit of arm soreness but not too bad. You have to sit in the waiting room after for a few minutes just to check you're feeling OK.

@microwoods I can believe it!

@SnakebitesandSambucas this pregnancy put a stop to breastfeeding my DD. I think she was 21 months. I just couldn't do it anymore it was too painful. Luckily she was fine about it. Hats off if you carried on tandem feeding!

Dullblue1234 · 26/02/2025 20:37

The anti D is a bigger needle, and the injection itself is "longer" time wise than a flu jab. Just remember to breathe 😂 i had a bit of a numb arm for the rest of the day, but was fine the day after

LozC0411 · 26/02/2025 20:37

Currently in triage for reduced movements but they’re keeping me in because it was showing that my uterus was contracting, but it was when I’ve been feeling the tightening that I’ve been under the impression is Braxton hicks… they’re resting my urine and I may need an examination. Baby started kicking away as soon as he was hooked up to the monitor tho!😂😂

Oooh gosh! Keep us posted 🤞 hopefully it's nothing

SnakebitesandSambucas · 26/02/2025 21:38

@LeBonBon I stopped for the last few months. Then started up again after they were born tandem fed for over 5yrs! Got some lovely photos! @LozC0411 hope all is well an irritable uterus is annoying!!

microwoods · 26/02/2025 22:27

I had an appointment with an anaesthetic consultant today as they needed to check an airway issue on the off chance I need a general anaesthetic in labour.

We discussed the different pain relief options and he directed me to the Labour Pains website. He basically just said that all the info is on there and you can compare different methods.

This is my second baby so I have a pretty good idea of what I'll go with but just thought I'd share the name of the website because I had a look earlier and it is really informative!

@Poster57 @Rainbowsunshine81 midwife had no concerns about baby. She confirmed his head is very low down which is what I had suspected. I’m going to book a 4d scan in the next few days just for peace of mind. My husband wants to see baby again since it’s been 3 months since our last scan. So crazy they expect you just to be done at 20 weeks with scans! Not sure if we will see much if he’s now very low down though 😅

SnakebitesandSambucas · 27/02/2025 12:41

@Dojo13 I had a 4d scan was amazing the detail expensive though!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/02/2025 12:47

@Dojo13 that's good! I had a 4D scan a few weeks ago and have booked one for a week on Saturday, it is amazing in 4D to see their features etc. I wish there were more scans on the NHS when pregnant. I'm going to be having growth scans with my hospital.

I was almost referred for growth scans after my last midwife appointment because my carbon monoxide levels kept being over the limit but when I went back a week later with my husband we both blew a 1 so I heard no more about it. It was a 4 again today but my husband wasn’t with me. The midwife didn’t mention the scans this time. So at least if we do a 4d scan we can also see if there is anything to be concerned about. He’s measuring about a week behind but he was at my last measurement so technically he’s on track. I’m 5’1 so I’m thinking he will be a small baby anyway.

@SnakebitesandSambucas you’re right they’re not cheap!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 27/02/2025 15:02

@Dojo13 I think I've been referred for growth scans due to my age and it being a IVF pregnancy. It is really good the 4D scan, this one I'm having is a growth scan too. When I had my fetal medicine appointment a couple of weeks ago he was weighing about 2 pounds something and they said where he was on the centile chart.

Beccaa123 · 03/03/2025 07:47

Has anyone had the whooping cough vaccine?
I had it on Friday and around the injection site is still feeling warm and heavy, is this normal?
Also what are your views on the rsv vaccine? My OB said she will offer me this at 30 weeks.

I went for a private 4D scan on Saturday and it was lovely to see him! He was around 18th percentile so smaller than I was expecting. He was 40 something at my 20 week scan but everything else seemed fine so they weren’t worried.

@Beccaa123 I had my whooping cough vaccination a while back. I didn’t have any issues with that. I also had my rsv vaccination a couple of weeks ago which was fine at the time but a couple of days later my arm got quite sore and was raised and itchy but it’s back to normal now. I stupidly chose my left arm thinking it being my non dominant but forgot that’s the side I’m sleeping on the most so one to bare in mind if do decide to go for it

Beccaa123 · 03/03/2025 09:49

Thanks @Dojo13 I'll give it a couple of days and see how it is.
Ok, good to know. I got whooping cough in my right arm and I had been sleeping on my right side recently because my hip has been agony on my left side, can't sleep on either now, which isn't great 😂

We can’t win can we 😅I’m looking forward to sleeping on my front again. The side sleeping is killing me. Such a mission to move from one side to the other. I feel like a whale 😂

Rainbowsunshine81 · 03/03/2025 12:10

@Dojo13 It's lovely seeing them on 4D scans seeing all their features ❤️ that's good that they weren't worried, put your mind at rest. Xx

Rainbowsunshine81 · 03/03/2025 12:12

@Beccaa123 I had my whooping cough vaccine a few weeks ago and my arm was sore for a little while after. I had my RSV vaccine last week and my arm felt ok afterwards. The only one I haven't had is the COVID one.

Sierra26 · 03/03/2025 13:33

I’m getting RSV today, assuming they can do it on same day as Rh- antiD as I’m due that too. I tried to get covid jab a few weeks ago and was told I’d missed the season - woops - no one told me there was a cut off! Just hoping it doesn’t mean the baby has missed out on chance to develop antibodies pre birth, I’m going to ask today and consider paying for private one if answer is yes.

Oh god turning over in bed is so hard! I’m not even that big yet but my abs aren’t functioning well 😂 dying to sleep on my back again as that’s the only position my back doesn’t hurt in. Keep getting pulled in to lumbar hyper-extension on my side.
