Hey sorry you guys are living at the hospital at the minute, I feel you this was my first pregnancy.

routinely you will only be offered 12 and 20 week scan at your 28week appointment they start measuring fundal height from there on at every appointment. I’m only 26 weeks today so I haven’t been seen since my 20 week scan which feels like forever but she’s moving and grooving and I’m gaining a normal amount of weight so nothing to concern me. I went swimming with the kids today and it was so wonderful to be in the water no aches or heavy feeling .. I might try and find the warmest pool around me and go a few times a week as I felt really good after but I do hate being cold and I have been so cold everyday absolutely no sign of the extra blood warmth 🤣

SnakebitesandSambucas · 18/02/2025 19:30

@BrightGoose I know! I swear I feel extra cold. But I'm poorly anyway. Heartburn and a sore throat like razor blades. I love swimming but the thought of a cold pool getting out. Though I'm tempted by the prenatal swimming classes!

BrightGoose · 18/02/2025 19:57

I no I’m freezing all the time some days I’ve gotten into bed in PJ a blanket jumper and my quilt and I’ve fell asleep and not woke up hot. I have always been pregnant in winter all my pregnancies have been due may and June and I don’t remember being this cold.

BrightGoose · 18/02/2025 19:59

I’m on omeprazole and peptac for my heartburn but I have always suffered from heartburn it’s just worse in pregnancy

SnakebitesandSambucas · 18/02/2025 20:39

My other two were Christmas and spring babies. Different experience entirely! Yeah I do have omazoprel argh can't spell. But I will have to add it to my list lol.

WildWhirlwind · 18/02/2025 22:09

Thank you for the information about the scans! Makes sense. Hope you're all coping with the what must feel like constant monitoring.

I'm absolutely loving feeling warmer! I am usually a freezing cold person normally and things are miserable because of it.

Toothfairy0113 · 22/02/2025 13:28

Hi everyone!

27+5 today ❤️ and also feeling VERY pregnant 😅

We just got back at 3am from a week away that didn't really feel like much of a break 😅 Plane seats are NOT the one 😂 and I blew up like a balloon with all the travelling yesterday.. Thankfully it's gone down again this morning after some sleep/rest.

I requested a blood test at 25+4 because I felt like I had symptoms of anaemia.. Lo and behold it came back I was so been on prescibed iron supplements for just over a week and a half and feeling a bit better already thankfully.
Also has my GD GTT last Monday (10th) and thankfully it came back 'normal' which I was so grateful for.

Sorry to hear about those of you constantly at the hospital, must be so stressful, sending virtual big hugs ❤️

Got my 28 week midwife appointment on Monday

SnakebitesandSambucas · 22/02/2025 14:13

Hey @Toothfairy0113 plane seats aren't the best are they! Yes my shoes are beginning to be a bit tighter. But I'm battling a rotten cold my chest is so sore. And the it's half term so the kids are bored. No energy for anything atm.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 22/02/2025 14:15

I've post poned my GD test as was feeling so poorly. If I'm still feeling like this on Friday I might have to again. Can barely get out of bed! I hate that test with a passion!

Sierra26 · 23/02/2025 17:43

Has anyone had any braxton hicks yet?

I’m 26wks, and for a couple of weeks now I’ve been feeling what I thought was baby squirming down low (once or twice a day) and making my uterus feel really hard at the bottom. Sometimes it goes funny shaped where I can tell where baby is. It’s only just hit me it might actually be BH? Totally painless but feels very tight and hard, only around the bottom half.

Im feeling baby move lots otherwise!

BrightGoose · 23/02/2025 18:25

Hey yes I’ve been having them since I was about 16 weeks, I had them in my previous pregnancy too.. mine are often and multiple times a day.. tummy goes a very strange shape I would say from my belly button down.. uterus is only just above the belly button at 27 weeks. Sometimes they are stronger than others and I would 💯 say they do take my breath away sometimes especially when I have an intense one, but it eases off quickly. It’s sometimes when I need a wee or if I haven’t drank a lot that day

Rainbowsunshine81 · 23/02/2025 18:48

I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and I'm not sure if I've been having Braxton hicks too. At my last midwife appointment and on a scan baby's head is in my pelvis, celphalic presentation, can feel pressure low down.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 23/02/2025 19:01

I know i get an irritable uterus that plays me up. Mind you I feel like a zombie atm so I suppose I am irritable. As long as they go, no bleeding or painful cramps you should be fine. Odd sensations though x

Blossomofhope · 24/02/2025 09:03

Hi ladies
im 28 weeks tomorrow and I’ve been struggling with headaches and nausea the last week or two. Have had to take a sick day from work again today - has anyone experienced similar? Have next gp on Thursday.

Beccaa123 · 24/02/2025 09:27

I have no idea if I've had Braxton hicks or not, I do feel my stomach go tight occasionally but not pain or anything.
@Blossomofhope I was struggling with headaches and it turned out to be because of gestational diabetes. My iron levels were also tested but they were fine.
I know it's the most obvious but have you been drinking enough?

Thanks Becca. Ya I feel like I spend all day every day drinking water 😅 .. so hard to pinpoint the cause.

The thirst is real!
Definitely bring it up with your doctor though and ask if they can look in to it for you

BodeAkuna · 24/02/2025 22:41

The Braxton Hicks are so weird! Only just started for me - remember them from last time. It's not painful just strange

Beccaa123 · 25/02/2025 08:34

I am 28 weeks tomorrow, excited to get in to the 3rd trimester!
I definitely still have a feeling of dread that something will go wrong, but I am an overthinker!
Like when I woke up this morning my bump felt more squidgy than normal and my first thought is something is wrong!
I haven't bought anything I need for me for the hospital yet and thinking I probably should?
How is everyone else getting on?

Rainbowsunshine81 · 25/02/2025 09:42

@Beccaa123 I was 28 weeks yesterday and sometimes I notice my bump is hard and then sometimes soft, could be the position of the baby maybe?
I still get anxious at times and don't think it ever fully goes. I've been buying a few bits for hospital here and there when there are baby events on in the shops. I've joined boots parenting club too which is good.

LozC0411 · 25/02/2025 09:48

30w1d today and getting more frequent braxton hicks, especially when I need a wee😂 I have my glucose test and another weekly growth scan Thursday, I am dreading the glucose test if I'm honest...
Fluid level around baby is still high and he is estimated to be 3lb4oz, hoping fluid hasn't shot up since last week and that I just have a lovely chunky baby! Weekly scans for the foreseeable :(

Beccaa123 · 25/02/2025 10:16

@Rainbowsunshine81 yeah it could be. I get fortnightly checkups with my OB, so I'll get to see the baby on Friday again which will be reassuring.
I'm not even sure where to start with my hospital things!
@LozC0411 what do the Braxton hicks feel like?
The glucose test was fine to be honest, the drink isn't as bad as it is made out to be!
I also have a chunky baby, due to GD thankfully my fluid levels are fine for now.
Hope the next scan goes well for you!

My bump goes really tight and hard and almost changes shape so I can see where the baby is if that makes sense? It lasts about 20 seconds but its uncomfortable to say the least
Were your fluid levels originally raised or low? They want me to have the test as his head and tummy are big and fluid is slightly high

Ah ok, I don't think I've had Braxton hicks yet then, or I haven't noticed it.
No my fluids have been normal.
I don't live in the UK anymore, I'm in the middle east & it's an insurance based system so everyone gets it! Thankfully I did, because I do have it. Other than baby weighing ahead, I didn't have any symptoms
