@PlumpHobbit I’ve now join you on the headache train. Literally start about 6pm and then that’s it until I go to bed. It’s a whole head pain too, not even a part of my head. Awful.

Even by taking my own advice about drinking tonnes, it makes no difference. What a shame, it’s so debilitating.

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Our test results came back at 1 in 5000 for all three syndromes yesterday, which was a relief.

We also have our 20 week scan date for 1st November. As my step-sons want to do a gender reveal at our family Halloween party the week previous, we've booked a private gender scan for around 16 weeks. Very excited to see baby again but nervous that we'll cave and ask to be told which will ruin the surprise for the boys 😂 @IMBCRound2 I am also hoping for not a helicopter!

Very much on the headache train here too - I'm drinking over my 3 litres of water (I've always been a water drinker so it's not been hard to increase it slightly) and that's not helping. Paracetamol doesn't even touch the sides!

I've just had my last reduction in my IVF meds dosage before we stop them completely in a couple of days, so I'm wondering if perhaps it's related to that? I have my first consultant appointment on Friday next week so will make sure I ask 😬

Has anyone had an anterior placenta before and felt movement early? Got told today my placenta is anterior but think I’ve been feeling her since about 15.5 weeks.

I had one last time and felt nothing until 20 weeks, but I'm sure it can happen. I suppose it all depends on where it is exactly (I know it's at the front but maybe not covering your whole belly), verses where the baby is moving about. I have a posterior placenta this time and only just started to feel movements this week at 17 weeks

Ellsx6 · 21/09/2024 23:21

Is anyone else 17 weeks yet? If so what's your symptoms like? None here really just spotty and starving, constipated! I've been feeling movement since 15 weeks. I feel it everyday multiple times a day but his a very active baby on the scans I go to every week! It still does not feel real. Is anyone else like this? Just still don't believe or feel like I'm pregnant!

I’m 17 and half weeks and kinda feel the same. Other than being really tired I don’t have symptoms and that’s not really specific to pregnancy. Only thing I’ve got is bump growing but sometimes think I’m actually just getting fat 😂

Onthedouble123 · 22/09/2024 07:51

I'm 17 weeks tomorrow. Sickness pretty much gone now thankfully but still a non existent gag reflex if something occasionally sets me off.
Just tiredness but I think that's as much from insomnia in the middle of the night then an actual standalone symptom if you see what I mean.
My pelvis and hips are very painful. It was burning pain in my hips trying to turn over in the night. I did have issues with my little girl too but not this early. I think it's exacerbated this time by still carrying her sometimes- a particularly long, relatively steep hill on Friday has set me off I think 😩 I hope it's just short lived and not here to stay now. I'm hobbling like I'm 38weeks!
I've been feeling movements for a little while now which is lovely 😍 xx

Onthedouble123 · 22/09/2024 07:51

Oh and a huge bump already 🙈

ChristmasJumpers · 22/09/2024 11:27

18 weeks yesterday and sickness is gone 🥳 I have god awful pelvic pain, which came much later on with DD, so turning over in bed is very painful. The bump is really bumping and I'm starting to feel movements now, especially with a Fizzy drink.
Still off most foods, but this might be mind over matter at this stage. Brushing my back teeth is hit and miss for gagging.

veggiebuns · 22/09/2024 15:35

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Can anyone that's further ahead than me (13 +2) or that's been pregnant before tell me if being physically exhausted is the new normal, or will it let up a bit soon?

The first 10 weeks were spent just trying to eat enough to stay alive and not constantly gag in peoples faces that I let a lot of everyday tasks slip by.

This week I've felt so much better nausea wise that I had planned to get on top of my washing, maybe even stretch myself to cleaning a bathroom. But after hanging some clothes up for 10 minutes my back was really hurting, I felt so unwell and ended up having a 30 minute nap.

Just wondering if this is going to be the norm and I should start anticipating small task to be a struggle or whether this is only temporary and give it a few more weeks and I'll have more energy!

Onthedouble123 · 22/09/2024 15:38

@veggiebuns I think if you dig in for another week or two you should start to get another burst of energy 🤞🏻
I definitely did with my first. And am starting to perk up a bit now with this one (17 weeks) xx

Jellybelly888 · 22/09/2024 19:03

@veggiebuns its really hard for the first trimester but from reading my old pregnancy diary this weekend, I saw that at 16 weeks I felt better.

I’m now 14 weeks 3 days so I’m holding out for 16 weeks that this pregnancy is the same! X

Jellybelly888 · 22/09/2024 19:04

Anyone got burning nipples? The last few days have been agony! I don’t remember this with my first!

17 weeks today.. I'm with you with the hunger.
My skin has gone so bad which always happens on pregnancy 😭

I don't think I've felt proper movement but saying that I don't really get a chance to sit down and pay attention.

I was saying to my husband the other day now the nauseas finally gone I don't feel pregnancy at all.

@Zuzu2020 it's nice to hear I'm not alone with not feeling pregnant! I'm on holiday and trying to put it to the back of my mind for now and enjoy my time. No doubt his probably fine I'm just a worrier!

sannax · 22/09/2024 20:59

14 weeks here and the tiredness is slowly lifting…but I’m still not back to normal. Still vomiting once a day and starving all the time, even after meals.

But the headaches are getting worse and paracetamol has stopped being effective

AdventuresInMothering · 22/09/2024 21:34

Ellsx6 · 19/09/2024 18:17

@AdventuresInMothering don't you have the maternity number? That's who I called for mine. It seems common that peoples results are getting 'lost'. Hopefully that hasn't happened to you!

Thanks, yeah it was the maternity advice number that was busy all day! I finally got through at 5.30pm on Friday and a lovely midwife checked for me and gave me the good news, 1 in 5000 chance for everything 🎉

Ellsx6 · 22/09/2024 21:44

@AdventuresInMothering great news! Glad you have a weight lifted. I also got 1 in 5000. Midwife said some trusts have moved over to only testing chance up to 5000 so we have very low chance definitely! Xx

Mrbay · 22/09/2024 23:00

Hey all!

Sorry, I've not checked in for a good few weeks.

Nothing to report really, apart from I feel more normal now! Less sickness and can get through the day without a nap!

SPD and round ligament pain has already started- the joy!

16 weeks now and felt something, could be gas but I've seen ripples on my skin - the joy of being chunky!

Ref weight - I'm around a stone lighter than pre-pregnacy but appetite is back so I doubt that will stay off!

Hope everyone is starting to feel a little more normal.

Anyone's children given bump a name yet? Mine has - muffin tin can 😆😆

Mine does and it's strictly between me and DH as its horrendous 😂

It's pound cake, from a lovely quote DH found "it's all well and good going to pound town, until you've got a little pound cake in the oven" 🙄😂

LV1987 · 23/09/2024 08:49

@veggiebuns I am still pretty knackered all the time, but much more like my "normal" level of knackered now, at 14 weeks. I'm making it through the working day without a lunchtime nap (work from home perks!) but by the time it gets to Sunday lunchtime, I'm having a Christmas day style snooze on the sofa 🙊

I'm trying to go back to my Zumba class this evening in the hopes that actually getting up and doing something will perk me up a bit - we'll see how that goes! Obviously I will be taking it easier than I would normally :)

Mrbay · 23/09/2024 09:45

@ChristmasJumpers 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 pregnancy is no joke so glad you've both got decent sense of humour!!

PlumpHobbit · 23/09/2024 18:53

Still feel knackered with no energy, I KNOW I should be trying to go to the gym for light routines but I just can't be bothered I want to get in from work, lie down and vegetate!

Is anyone who's expected to be in the office full time struggling? Had bloat/indigestion all day today (gaviscon etc didn't touch it) and was sat in the chair feeling in such discomfort! Nowhere near enough to go home sick but how I wanted to be able to lie down!

Starting to wonder if I need to call in the maternity trousers even though bump is more bloat than baby atm! Any good suggestions for smart but super comfy work trousers for a Hobbit?

Eta - another who doesn't feel pregnant, just a bloated fat achy frump with bad headaches that just wants to go to bed!!

I feel people are lying about the pregnancy glow 😂 glowing I most certainly am not!!

IMBCRound2 · 23/09/2024 20:52

Bump is ridiculous - especially because I was still an actual washboard at this point with my daughter… had to bust out the maternity knickers today much to her delight. I’m so glad my voluminous pantaloons bring such joy.

I also tried to chase her through some railings this morning and got stuck. 😂

been wfh since I broke my foot and need to go back to the office soon - slightly panicking about how I’m going to hide my bump until my 20 week scan. Suggestions much appreciated!

AdventuresInMothering · 23/09/2024 20:55

@IMBCRound2 the combination of high waisted black skinny jeans + baggy jumper worked in my first pregnancy but I think I'm nearly as big now at 15 weeks as I was at 21 weeks first time round! So I think I'm just gonna end up telling everyone at work sooner...
