I have been feeling a bit odd recently (since Saturday) @herewegoagain123456 and I don't know why. It's not nauseas (eventhough I have once or twice per day) and it's not heartburn.... But it's something related to eating. Like a reflux but not burning sensation.

About your baby probably is what @superj21 has mentioned and it's still to small to tell. Hopefully, is not going to be anything bad. 🤞🤞

I have my 20w scan next Tuesday. I'm worrying about not feeling moving (or not identifying the movements feeling) sometimes I feel like something moving in my tummy but I'm not sure if it was the baby or it's because I'm hungry. Hahahaha like you, nothing I can do atm. Let's see next week.

Yea mines not as often as first trimester but all of a sudden have been sick 3 mornings this week. Hopefully it doesn't continue.

Just got back from turkey and the extra food has not done me any favours. So having to get some Maternity leggings but there all for massive bumps. No in between 🤷🏽‍♀️

I got some leggings off Vinted randomly a while ago and they have been an absolute godsend thus far! I was struggling to fit into my trousers from 9 weeks onwards due to bloating and it just never got better 😅

The ones I got are slightly fleecy inside, so lovely and warm for the winter, and they're not a fancy brand but the waistband is SO soft and comfy no matter where I like it to sit. They're from QED London, I've got four pairs of them now!

herewegoagain123456 · 18/09/2024 10:07

Thanks guys, will have a look at those leggings this weekend.
Feel like a right frump 😂

In more exciting news I proper felt the baby kick last night, so got my partner to put his hand there for a while and he felt it too 😍

KittyFantastica · 18/09/2024 13:36

Oh wow @herewegoagain123456 I've been feeling gentle movements since 15 weeks, and they're getting stronger but my husband still can't feel them yet. He's so desperate to feel it. How lovely!

CarrotySnack · 18/09/2024 20:19

Thanks to the person who recommended Frugi maternity leggings a few weeks ago - was it you @UrbanSquirrel ? - they are just what I was looking for in terms of organic cotton and they are fab!
They really have room for a proper 3rd trimester bump but they also work rolled down, so tagging @herewegoagain123456

UrbanSquirrel · 18/09/2024 20:40

@CarrotySnack Ooh, yes it was, good memory, though I think someone else recommended them too. Very pleased to hear they fit the bill for you. I'm wearing mine right now!

More broadly, hope everyone is doing well! We had our 20 week scan on Monday and all looks perfect, so delighted. We have the funniest picture, where it looks for all the world as if the baby is chilling out in a hammock with her feet up 😂 I'd been very nervous because I hadn't felt any movement at all, but turns out I have an anterior placenta, so that'd be why!

Now dealing with all the admin joy of setting up maternity leave and maternity cover at work. Planning to start mat leave immediately after Christmas, as I've gone for an ELCS and so it is likely to be late January rather than early Feb. What plans has everyone else made?

Sending much love to all 🤗 xxx

Your picture sounds great and will certainly be one to show when they're older. I have my 20 week scan next week (I'll be 21 weeks by the time I have it)

I'm planning to go off 9th Jan, with a 7th Feb due date. My manager said it was too early and I'd be bored....I can't imagine lay ins and reading books/relaxing for nearly a month will be boring to be honest haha!

UrbanSquirrel · 19/09/2024 06:30

@Odessa1 Agreed on the lie ins and reading. Sounds heavenly! Especially since I guess we won't be getting much time for either shortly afterwards 😉

I'm planning to finish up around 38 weeks. I finished up the same time with my first, and by 38 weeks I was ready to be finished. But also my first was nearly 2 weeks late so ended up with a month off first and to be honest did start to get a bit bored!

elb1504 · 19/09/2024 11:44

I used up annual leave with my first and finished about 5 weeks before he was eventually born as he was late and it was boring to be honest, although was start of very first lockdown so even worse!

This time I'm not sure what to do, I'm a director of a business so have flexible leave and not quite normal circumstances, so might work as long as I can just reduce amount of work and hours. I don't really know what to do!

Piluka · 19/09/2024 11:55

I was planning to go off around the 20th but I am not sure about driving (I drive 45 min each way) so I am not sure how fit I would be by then. Moreover, I won't go back to work as I would move back to my country by mid next year (lots of paperwork to do in both countries 😅) so I am not sure to tell them or wait after a couple of months of maternity leave to tell them. I've asked in this forum (Mumset) and almost everyone suggested to tell them after the baby is born but I don't like to lie or been seen as taking advantage of that.

I'm happy for your 20w scan @UrbanSquirrel i have mine next Tuesday! Very excited tbh!!!

MrsB2019x · 19/09/2024 12:51

With my DD I didn’t start mat leave until the day she came, but I took 2 weeks of annual leave off beforehand. I was DONE at 38 weeks! I’ll probably do the same this time though because I loved having more time the other side.

apple67cherry · 19/09/2024 12:54

Hi everyone 19+4 today and have my 20 week scan tomorrow. Nervous and excited! My little one starting moving noticeably at 19+2 for anyone with a posterior placenta awaiting movement. Started off as flutters here and there and today after drinking a coffee I placed my hand left lower belly and had quite a strong kick! 🤣 just one but has got me quite tearful, feels surreal!

Redapple21 · 19/09/2024 19:41

I finished at 38 weeks last time too and was so ready. I agree that it can be a little boring if baby comes late but I remember by then I was sore and my feet were swollen and I was struggling to be on my feet all day. I think it depends on the job role. I was glad to watch box sets while I waited for his arrival :-)

Aww so glad your 20 week scan went well! Ours is on Monday even though I’m already 20 weeks, the wait is killing me!

I’m planning to go off quite close to due date, to maximize time on ‘the other side’- probably mid/ late Jan. Christmas makes it tricky though, doesn’t it? I’m tempted by the appeal of only having a week or so back in the New Year for ‘wrap up’ and starting leave earlier!

TTCagain85 · 20/09/2024 10:00

Hey, halfway mark today for me🥳 still super freaked out by "quiet days" where I can't really feel baby and on other days she is so energetic!

Has anyone else been having really vivid dreams...mine aren't necessarily scary and somethings totally relatable to what's happening in my life 🤣 but it's all so vivid, like early pregnancy dream!

Also, I know this sounds horrid, but I seem to be getting a real aversion to my dog 🐕 she's only little and ever so cute, but she's a real licker and I can't stand it anymore. Maybe it's the thought of catching germs, I'm not sure. But I feel awful as I do really love her and couldn't see our wee family without her.

elb1504 · 20/09/2024 11:30

@TTCagain85 I've been having really vivid dreams too, like you say no scary just really in depth and I can remember them all. I normally don't rememeber any dreams!

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 20/09/2024 15:39

Absolutely same for me on the dreams front! I never usually remember them at all.

I’ve been having anxiety about germs generally including our lovely dog 😢 My midwife pointed me towards NHS therapy resources for pregnancy and it’s been really helpful- so maybe one to raise at your next appointment? Even if it’s only minor now, it’s apparently much better to ‘catch it early’

Hi all, just dropping in to say hope all is going well.

It's hard to keep up with the thread these days, but I drop in every now and then. Nothing new to report here, still waiting for my 20 week scan, which isn't until 8th October. It still feels miles away!

We're not finding out what we're having, so it just feels like such a long wait, it I love hearing about others finding out :).

Same date as me! But we already know the sex from a previous scan!

herewegoagain123456 · 21/09/2024 21:07

I'm the same with the dreams!!

Odessa1 · 22/09/2024 03:34

Can't relate with the vivid dreams. I struggle to stay asleep at night, I'm awake so often. It feels like I'm in training for when baby is here and I don't get any sleep haha 😴

apple67cherry · 22/09/2024 08:57

Hi everyone thought I'd ask something as it's been worrying me for a little bit now. I'm 20 weeks today and since I can remember my baby has hardly moved on my scans (I've had quite a few due to early bleed/private scans etc) and I get maybe one movement on each scan. The sonographer had me jump, wiggle, shake my belly and all sorts yesterday and he did not budge once yet he has a beautifully strong heartbeat and there was found to be no issues with him, just seems to be an inactive/lazy baby. Anyone else had this or are your babies quite active? I have felt movement since 19+2 but it has been on and off.

A fellow boy mum! Welcome 🤗 18 weeks and also very excited!

@apple67cherry we've had the opposite in that our sonographers have commented on how active our baby is, however my MIL said DH was always very chilled and looked like he was sleeping in the womb, and as a child and adult he's always loved sleeping. I'm sorry I don't know more than that but if the sonographers aren't worried I'm sure it's fine
