Morning, so finally had my NHS scan yesterday and all going well so far.
NT measured 1.7mm so just waiting for results from blood tests.
Due 23rd of Feb.

Have another scan at 16 weeks with a consultant due to my history which is good as was going to pay for a private one.

Sickness is well and truly in the past now so just trying to eat healthy again 🙈
Still weak as hell in the gym but something I need to get used too.

Hope everyone is doing okay 😍

Congrats on your scan :) I hope you get the blood test results back quickly. Mine took exactly 1 week, and I received a letter. It was the longest wait ever!

I'm from the east midlands.

Hi ladies, hope your all doing OK and for those of you waiting for test results sending you all the best!

Does anyone have (or has had) really bad leg aches and pain at night? I've had it every night starting last week. I'm 15 weeks today. I've started sleeping with a pillow between my legs and it helps a bit and have had to take paracetamol. It lasts a few hours into the day then seems to ease up but it's waking me up at night. That and having to go to bathroom at least 5 times.
I've also had bad bloating this week and pain in my side has returned plus some abominable pains here and there. From what I've googled this is all normal, but just wondering if anyone else has it/if any tips on how to manage! Xo

Also totally random but the blood test results from my booking apt from 2 weeks ago only got uploaded to mychart yesterday and I've low glucose and low haemoglobin and haemocrit. Again think that's pretty normal, I'm guessing they'd call if its low enough to mean you need to take more iron etc? Think I've upped my iron intake since then anyway!

Hey, i'm 14W 4D, and been having similar leg/thigh/bum aches. Some mornings it's really bad, feels like i've done 1000 squats in my sleep!?😅

No advice, but I've been doing some stretches to try and help ease it but it's quite sore!

I've been sleeping on my side since I found out i was pregnant, don't think my hips are used to it as i'm usually a tummy sleeper.

Do you have a pregnancy pillow? I have one but it's been too hot to sleep with it lately, eagerly awaiting the weather to cool down as i think it will help.

elb1504 · 20/08/2024 13:56

I'm from Staffordshire!

Had my midwife appointment at 17 weeks today, nothing exciting to be honest just BP and urine dip and general chat for anyone who has one coming up wondering what happens! Essentially it's 5 mins!

Congrats on the 12 week scan @herewegoagain123456 I had mine last week and still waiting for the blood results, it feels like it's taking forever.

I'm also due 20th Feb @ridl14 I don't think I've seen anyone else with the same due date as me thus far :). It's so lovely to see so many people who will be going through the same thing so close together :).

@KittyFantastica @ridl14 my due date is also 20th feb! Where are you both from?

KittyFantastica · 20/08/2024 15:11

Hi @Moyaingoya I'm currently residing in Essex :)

Lidlisthebusiness · 20/08/2024 16:13

I'm also due on the 23rd, which is my brothers 40th birthday!

ThisLimeDeer · 20/08/2024 17:07

I’m due on 24th Feb so not far from you!
I’m also waiting for the combined screening results, I had the scan and bloods done last week on Monday so it’s been over a week. I hope this means that a letter is on its way.

Also I live in Coventry if anyone is local :)

@autumnbake my partner has ordered a pregnancy pillow for me and it should arrive soon. At the moment I’m trying to sleep with a regular pillow between my legs but I do have a habit of sleeping on my belly as that’s how I’m the comfiest and I’ve done it since I was little :(. Really trying not to do it.

Love this! I'm from East Midlands

ridl14 · 20/08/2024 19:27

I had my 12w scan and screening last Wednesday and we got the results on Monday! I wasn't too worried after the sonographer said she didn't have concerns based on the scan though

QuantumPanic · 20/08/2024 19:39

Ah, I'm still sort of sleeping on my stomach - I try not to, but I sometimes roll over in the night. Feel a little paranoid that I'm squashing the baby, but my stomach is still (fairly) small, so assume she's ok. 😬 Maybe I should start strategically wedging pillows.

I'm in West Yorkshire!

ThatBlueMoose · 20/08/2024 19:40

Not posted on here in a while.

Feel like this pregnancy is getting more complex. Had my scan last week and measured 13+5 so due 13th February. On the scan they've seen what they think is a cyst or fibroid next to my cervix so I need to have a scan with the consultant next week. I also have a polyp on my cervix which is causing me to bleed on and off 😫😫
My screening came back low risk, however it has shown I have low papp-a. Saw my consultant Friday last week so I'm going to need extra scans. I'm already on asprin due to previous pre eclampsia.
I will also need to be on blood thinning injections from 28 weeks due to my age, bmi and previous problems.
Oh and I had a swab last week too and that came back today I have group B strep!

Some good news...we have our gender scan booked for Satuday. We have 6 girls between me and my partner. So fully expecting another girl🤣🤣

SBelfast · 20/08/2024 20:08

@autumnbake sorry to hear you've also aches and pains! Mines eased up a bit, we were away last week and I think the bed was firmer and that was making it worse, still wake up but pains not as bad.
I'm just using a normal pillow atm between my legs to sleep finding it's helping quite a bit :)

I'm based in Belfast so being too hot is not an issue 😂

Ladies what are your thoughts on hair dye? My hair is a shocking mess of grey...really want to get it done but I held off first trimester as I read one thing that said hair dye could be bad. But I also think if you Google anything with 'pregnancy' you'll find at least one online article about it being bad, and I can't see anything about it on NHS. Midwife said it should be fine but to ask consultant but maybe she was just covering herself? Got a wedding coming up and I'd like to sort this birds nest out prior 😂

@ThatBlueMoose poor you! That sounds like an ordeal indeed. Good luck for gender test 😊

superj21 · 20/08/2024 20:22

@SBelfast I had my full balayage done a few weeks ago and touch up my own roots every few weeks. I'd say go for it! I think it's just because the hormones can make you have reactions you wouldn't usually do maybe just do a spot check 😊

ThisLimeDeer · 20/08/2024 21:08

@ThatBlueMoose it does sound complicated but I’m glad you’re getting support and extra scans and appointments! I have hypertension so was also told I’d be getting consultant appointments and my first one is on 16th September.

@SBelfast I saw something somewhere saying it’s ok to dye your hair after the initial 12 weeks of pregnancy. I’ll try to find it because I’m not sure of the source. I’m in the same boat as you, need to sort my hair out as my sister is getting married in September!

what are everybody’s thoughts on flying whilst pregnant(wedding is abroad)?

I fly on the 5th Septemeber. As long as you have travel insurance to cover you just incase. There was a thread about it on the FB group, and lots of us have flown well in to the latter weeks. Enjoy!

elb1504 · 20/08/2024 22:31

@ThisLimeDeer I'm going on holiday when I'm 27 weeks, seems like travel insurance covers you up to 32 weeks and after 28 weeks generally need a fit to fly. So as long as its a low risk uncomplicated pregnancy the break will be lovely - especially for a wedding!

ThisLimeDeer · 20/08/2024 23:18

Thanks both :). I don’t have Facebook so I’m missing out on everything that’s in the group :(. I know that I’m a weirdo for it but it is what it is!

Redapple21 · 21/08/2024 07:25

@SBelfast I had my hair dyed around 12 weeks - the hairdresser said my colour might go slightly different to normal but it was absolutely fine. I'd say go for it!

TTCagain85 · 21/08/2024 17:39

Hello! So I'm 16 weeks tomorrow. Previously thought I felt small bubbles lower left hand side but now I think I'm feeling movement across the right hand side a bit above my belly button. 2nd baby (3rd pregnancy that's got this far!).

Curious...where are you all feeling movement?

MinionMumto3nearly4 · 21/08/2024 19:04

Hi all

Found the 3rd thread. I'm due 8th Feb with 4th baby. Heard the heartbeat yesterday 💗 this baby was a very nice surprise. Hope you're all doing well.

Having some flutters but then not sure, you just never know do you 😊

Baby wouldn't stretch out at first for a good picture but all is fine.

Scan from when I was 12+5

@ThisLimeDeer @SBelfast ive dyed my hair throughout both of my pregnancies, the advice is basically don’t do a home dye in a tiny room with no windows cause the chemicals will make you feel awful! If you do it at home, make sure it’s in a well ventilated room and be aware that the colour might come out slightly different to normal. If you’re getting it done at the hairdresser, no worries at all but again, let the hairdresser know as the colour sometimes takes a bit funny!

retrievermum · 21/08/2024 19:10

Had my midwife appointment today (16+4) and all was well! She had a listen in to baby and found the heartbeat as soon as she put the doppler to my tummy which was good! Said baby has a good strong heartbeat and also declared that she thinks it’s a girl (she thought my last pregnancy was a boy which was wrong though so it means nothing!). All very happy and excited, but feels very strange that I won’t see her until 28 weeks now as it’s my second baby!

Ahh I had my 16 week appointment today but they don't do the Doppler in my area at 16 weeks, which is a shame. Would have been good to hear. The midwife is lovely though. Yes it's so strange now I won't see her until November as second baby! Feels like so far away!!

elb1504 · 21/08/2024 19:36

They don't do doppler in my area anymore at 16 weeks she said guidelines are after 20 weeks, I'm sure previously they did! Also won't see mine until November which seems ages away but I've got few other appointments at hospital in between! Feels like it's making the time fly!

ridl14 · 21/08/2024 19:43

Checking in again 👏🏼 lovely to see more scans! Can't wait for when we start finding out genders 🤗

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and at the weird stage where I don't think I look pregnant but I look like I've definitely gained a belly. I'm slim build and have kept up workouts and am desperate for maternity leggings now! My usual ones put uncomfortable pressure on my lower abdomen now so when we were just at the gym I rolled them down while working out and felt like my pot belly was out.

We're going to a wedding on Saturday, I've had my dress for it for ages (one I'm rewearing) - it's fairly clingy even though it's not bodycon and I'm so happy we've started telling extended family now because if I don't look pregnant in it I just have a big pot belly and a visible belly button 😕 anyone else going through similar? I know it's trivial.

For any teachers, I'm back to work on Friday as well and just dreading it. I stopped enjoying my job a while ago apart from the kids and when I actually get to exercise some creative thought, and I'm just dreading being stuck not able to go to the bathroom and the intense back to back schedule. I need to tell my line manager on Friday so hopefully they'll let me have some adjustments because my bladder is still tiny!

On a positive note though I seem to be seeing the back of the nausea/vomiting - finally!!! Now all I want is Indian food and lots of it (ravenous) 😂
