So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

@Bubblesandballoons I've had some twinges at the sides of my scar, one side more than the other. I think maybe it's just as the uterus is expanding to accomodate everything it's pulling slightly. It's not awful or all the time but I'm deffinitely aware of it.

@Badassbreastfeeder85 and @CharlotteRae thinking of you both and have everything crossed for you. It's the not knowing and being helpless that is the worst part isn't it.

With my daughter I had a subchorionic hematoma which caused bright red bleeding and then brown spotting for ages and it all turned out fine. They can see that on a scan so if you're still concerned you could ask EPU. With my two miscarriages one was spotting that ramped up and the other one I was absolutely fine and then one day just passed the sac and bled heavily. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to any of it. These first 12 weeks are just torture! 😖Sending you both big hugs and I hope you have things to try and take your mind of it

Has anyone had Covid during pregnancy? This is the 1st time having Covid so don't know if its just how horrible covid is or wether being pregnant is making me feel worse.

Whenyoupickapawpaw · 05/08/2024 12:20

Hi all. Hope everyone is ok?

I just spoke to the midwife for the first time and asked about booking in the dating/screening scan and she said I can only have this between 12-14 weeks (for combined screening). However, unfortunately I'm out of the country between 11w3d and 13w6d so the day I land back in the UK would be the last possible date on the nhs. She said it then depends if the hospital has availability on that date, otherwise I'd have to have tests later in the pregnancy which aren't as accurate.

It's making me nervous going so long without tests/scan. Does anyone know if I can get private combined screening done before 12weeks? Last date I could do is 11weeks 3 days. I'm in Wales.

Thanks in advance

This happened to me in my last pregnancy and I got a private NIPT at 16 weeks which tests for the same things and the combined but is more accurate.

Yes! I got Covid at 7 weeks last time, I have to be honest early pregnancy was rough for me so it didn’t make much difference!

hopefulforno3 · 05/08/2024 15:28

Hey everyone would love to cautiously join. Got a BFP at 8 dpo which I'm so shocked about because my previous 2 pregnancies it was nearly 2 days after af was due before I got a hint of a line. Anyway I am 4 weeks today and so nervous. Not sure why. My last pregnancy was 7 years ago. Getting good line progression, hoping I can escape the absolute debilitating sickness I had the last two times . Congrats to everyone 🩷💙

5 weeks pregnant and feel and look 5 months pregnant today lol
Is anyone the same? I know it's just bloat but a big stomach has just appeared all of a sudden today

Whenyoupickapawpaw · 05/08/2024 16:01

@gggg9320 oo ok, I will look into that then in case they can't scan me before 14 weeks. Thank you

I have suddenly got much bigger! I had no issues wearing my normal clothes until I was 5 months gone first time round. I'm the same size now (5wks) as I was around 12 weeks the first time!

I am starting to feel quite bloated today 🙃

Halo20 · 05/08/2024 17:56

@Hopefulmummie Yep I feel so bloated in my stomach but I also look like I had a boob job and they are so painful! My boobs are alreasy an e cup so they do not need to get bigger....

Effiex08 · 05/08/2024 18:03

Hello, I've just found this thread. 😀I'm almost 31 and found out yesterday I'm pregnant with my first baby after six months of ttc. I think I'm 5 weeks but online calculators are telling me different things!
Feeling all the emotions so far, excited, a bit shocked, scared...think my hormones are all over the place. Have had fatigue and cramps as my main symptoms so far.
Congrats everyone else, can't quite believe I'm writing this post!!xx

Popsicales · 05/08/2024 18:25

@Hopefulmummie yes I’m very bloated already!!

I’ve been sooo tired the last 2 days. I’ve had to have an afternoon nap. Good job I’m off for the summer holidays! That seems to be my main symptom with a little bit of low level nausea starting.

ShieldMaiden87 · 05/08/2024 19:46

Welcome congrats! I think I am
4 weeks tomorrow and also had my last baby 7 years ago although I had a MMC in January x everything has changed from 7 years ago haha

Kaybubs · 05/08/2024 20:56

@DaisyRainbow I had COVID during my last pregnancy at around 15 weeks. It wasn't too bad, just felt a bit rough for a few days.

@Hopefulmummie Yes!! Completely bloated. Also the nausea has kicked in big time 🤢 I've also just stopped breastfeeding my 19 month old so my boobs are feeling a bit odd.

@Popsicales I'm also off for the summer holidays which is a bit of a treat. Don't know how I'm going to face work in September 😭

Neonraspberry · 06/08/2024 07:48

Congratulations to you all. I just found out a few days ago that I’m pregnant with first. I am worried though as I haven’t been taking folic acid even when trying to conceive and I’m at 6 weeks. I wasn’t expecting to get pregnant due to PCOS so I’m a little worried I’ve not helped my baby’s development. We don’t have any family history of spina bifida or other birth defects but it’s still a worry!

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 06/08/2024 13:46

How are things @CharlotteRae

rlar · 06/08/2024 14:12

Congratulations all! Would love to join, found out last week I’m pregnant with #1. Due approx 5th/6th April.

Like a few others here (unfortunately) I had an early miscarriage at around 6 weeks in May - we’ve been trying for about 10 months so feeling cautiously optimistic.

Really happy that we’re having an April baby, obviously I’d be overjoyed with any month but I think April is really great - heavily pregnant and can nest in winter, then lighter mornings and evening for when the baby is here. I’m speaking with absolutely no experience of course!

StampOnTheGround · 06/08/2024 14:14

@rlar this is baby number 2 for me, and number 1 is an April baby too - it is a great month! 😂

Sorry about your early miscarriage, fingers crossed for us all that these little ones stick 🤞🏻

ievs · 06/08/2024 18:27

Congratulations to everyone! What a great group! My EDD is 4th April 2024. It's my first pregnancy, so I’m both very excited and a little scared :)

How did you all, future and current mummies, choose your hospital? Any recommendations in London?

LottieW93 · 06/08/2024 21:13

just wanted to check in and say hi to all the new people who’ve joined ! And to see how everyone is doing and any updates on the ladies with the bleeding ❤️🤞🏽

I’m still cautiously getting through each day. Testing still everyday and lines got much darker which is a good sign I suppose but I’m still absolutely shitting it as I lost at 6 weeks last time so getting through this next week is going to be hard.

Sending everyone positive vibes and loads of love xx

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 07/08/2024 04:44

I've tried to call the epu but can't get through, did an online request for GP appt who told me to contact 999,assuming they think ectopic tho I'm not bleeding heavily or in pain, rang 111 who sent referral to gp, rang gp, receptionist "what fo you expect us to do" won't refer to epu, told me to go to a&e, I don't feel I need to as I'm not bleeding heavily or in pain, so yeah helpful

Bluemilan · 07/08/2024 07:40

Hi all, can I join? Just found out I'm expecting baby #4! Feeling so nervous as we've also had 8 miscarriages so nothing feels certain at all. Current EDD is 17th April. Currently no symptoms, feeling abit nauseous but I think that's just nerves! Congratulations to everyone!

CharlotteRae · 07/08/2024 07:56

@Badassbreastfeeder85 oh no, do you feel it's got worse? Could you pay for a private scan to put your mind at ease? X

Bluemilan · 07/08/2024 08:00

@Badassbreastfeeder85 does your local EPU have a walk in service? If so just head there. Scans prior to 5weeks may show up as "pregnancy of unknown location" purely because sometimes baby is too small to see. But they would also offer a blood test that checks your hormone level (ectopic pregnancy's usually show deranged levels). You can usually check opening times and whether they offer a walk in service on the hospital website. Hope you're okay x
