So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

@Toomanyweekstogo yes please if you would! Yes this is Charlotte xx

I really don’t know if there’s anyway for me to join back as nobody else was admin 😫 unless somebody made a new group but I know that’s a nightmare. I’m missing it terribly! Xx

Ah that’s a shame, I hadn’t got round to joining the group yet but I was going to 😅 Let us know if you get access to your account back!

Had my 12 week scan today. I'm apparently 12+2 and baby was wriggling away. Here's pic. Any guesses as to sex? Hehe

Congratulations! V cute! Is that a forked nub I see in line with spine?! Girl would be my guess! Mind you, does the nub slightly stick up? I might not even be seeing a nub of course! 😂

Flor88 · 10/10/2024 17:22

We found out I'm expecting a girl from my NIPT. Another daughter and definitely no more kids here! Feeling so lucky that the results came back low risk and excited to see a sister bond.

Aw congrats! Such a clear photo! I have my 12w scan on Monday. I should be 11w5d then. Not had a scan at all yet so hoping for good news

I was nervous as I've been so sick. So happy when I saw a heartbeat 💓 all the best for your scan !

Thank you! What is your gut saying about the sex? Mine was bang on twice.

Rbear9 · 10/10/2024 19:19

Hi everyone,
We had our 12 week scan and everything looked perfect! Beyond exciting seeing our baby wiggling away on the screen and being able to see their face so clearly! Honestly feel so lucky. I still have a fair bit of nausea though and I thought that would be calming down now. I had the NIPT blood test with the NHS and asked if I could know the sex from this and they said no.
Does anyone have any recommendations for some accurate tests I could do privately for sex, please? X

Congratulations! Great news about your scan! Was it definitely a NIPT or the usual combined screening blood test? The NHS will usually do a NIPT only if the combined screening blood test comes back as high risk - or if there were complications related to something like one of the trisomies or a genetic condition in a previous pregnancy. There may be other reasons they do it I'm not aware of too and which may apply to you so sorry if I'm mistaken. Or maybe the NHS NIPT simply looks at the trisomies and not the fetal sex. The way they differ is the NIPT looks at fetal DNA in the mother's blood whereas I think the combined screening looks at hormones like betaHCG.

In addition to the NIPT, I think there's something like a Sneek Peek company which can predict but I'm pretty sure they can be contaminated easily with male DNA so I'd personally never use. Tbh, we had the NIPT for the genetic screening (as I'm 35 and would personally want to know if my baby was going to be born with a certain condition) but thought we might as well also find out the sex as it cost £500. Worth it for the reassurance it provided tbh! But then again the combined screening also provides reassurance too so a personal decision.

There's also some nub theory sites you can pay that give predictions although I'm sure some non-experts would have a go for free here! 😂 I could have waited to find out but my husband was keen to know and I'm happy to go with the flow. It's nice knowing though! I had a birth experience with my first where I'm glad I found out at 20 weeks because the birth was stressful and I think I would have actually forgotten the moment I would have found out if I'd waited until then. But my SIL waited for a surprise and loved it (after a straightforward birth). Each to their own.

Allswellthatendswelll · 10/10/2024 21:31

Had my scan and all looks good. They put me a bit ahead so I was 13w1D not 12w4D so that was nice to be in the second trimester.

Still sick though 😩 Last time it lasted about 16 weeks.

Blue2020 · 10/10/2024 22:03

I had my 12 week scan today, also dated slightly ahead at 12+3. I have a feeling I’m having a boy again. Not as strong feeling this time but the skull is tall and big like DS’s was. I can’t see a nub on any of the scan images to read into that. We will find out at 20 weeks though if we can. Also this will be our last as long as it all goes smoothly.

The only thing I can suggest is adding someone on the group on Facebook and getting them to invite you, as it let me add Charlotte back in and I’m not an admin. You could private message me or Lottie on here and we could try that way? X

Ah you’re so right! It was the combined, I had such an overload of information at my first appointment that’s the only blood test name I remember! Thank you for clarifying.

I’ll wait until the 20 week scan, I just know ultrasounds aren’t 100% but a blood test would be so if I could do that then I would but I see your point! Thank you so much for being so informative!

Has anyone had issues with their GP not wanting to prescribe antisickness? Mine seem reluctant and I don't understand why. I'm on cyclizine but had a medication review and the pharmacist said one Dr in particular is reluctant. I even asked about xonvea but no one has either heard of it or willing to try it.

Anyone still sick? I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and felt so sick today. Everything online says by 11/12 weeks 😫. I am really hoping it dies down soon.

Congratulations @Dojo13 - gorgeous photo!

I’m impatiently awaiting my next midwife appointment (10 days time) so I can hear the heartbeat again!

My GP said it usually settles down by 15-16 weeks. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and, fingers crossed, think I'm on the tail end of the sickness :)

Blue2020 · 14/10/2024 22:08

@Allswellthatendswelll in my last pregnancy I had it until 14 weeks.

@Dojo13 that’s great news.
