So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Hi everyone, long time lurker on this thread, first time poster! Currently 11 weeks after a MMC diagnosed at the 12 week scan a few months ago. Also had one spontaneous loss at 6 weeks a few years ago before having my DS.

Everything was well with this pregnancy at 9 weeks at an EPU scan (got referred by GP). NHS scan booked early next week and it’s all I can think about. I find myself just killing time every day - willing the hours and days to pass to get me closer to the scan. Yet also terrified of it because of the fear of repeating the MMC experience. Anyone in the same boat?

I’m also stressing about symptoms. Before my MMC my symptoms faded a little bit at 9weeks (later found out baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks). Now at 11 weeks my symptoms have faded a bit too. I was so bloated a week or so ago but that’s just gone! I’m still retching a bit (have never been sick in any of my pregnancies) but that’s eased up a bit too. Still tired but not crazily so. I remember my symptoms stopping dead at 11 weeks with my DS and he was obviously fine, but I can’t seem to reassure myself this time because of the MMC last time.

Anyone else who has had a successful scan at 12 weeks notice their symptoms subside around 10-11 weeks?

Thanks all, and congrats to everyone too!

Sorry for you loss with your MMC.

I think if you are lucky then your symptoms subside at about 11 weeks (no such luck here- I'm 11w3d and feel crap) as the placenta takes over. If you had a successful scan at 9 weeks you have a very good chance of all being well at 12 weeks.

Good luck with your scan. I had one at 7weeks and 10 weeks as I'm anxious! NHS dating scan is next week. I've told close friends and family as I feel like I'm far enough down the road that if it does go wrong I want it to be acknowledged.

Flor88 · 01/10/2024 19:55

Forgot to add that yes, we will find out the sex! @Lowkeyloopy

Cheeseballer · 01/10/2024 20:55

Sorry to hear about losses.
I hope everyone is doing OK Today. Hope the scans go well xxx

SomethingDifferentBloomed · 02/10/2024 07:18

Another one waiting for the dating scan! Mine is on Friday. I had a private scan at 8 weeks where everything was ok so I’ve got my fingers crossed it’ll all be ok, but you just don’t know do you.

Now I’m almost 12 weeks I do feel like my symptoms are slightly better too, I feel less knackered all the time and less sick. Yesterday I had a really nauseous day though and that has kind of highlighted how not sick I’ve been for the last week or so, weirdly. It felt like being 7 weeks again 😅

Growingtolovemotherhood · 02/10/2024 13:51

I had my nhs scan and was estimated to be 11 weeks 6 days, currently about to hit 13 weeks tomorrow and I dont feel better in terms of naesua. I was able to do some house clean up yesterday finally but the nausea after it was so bad like being hit with a truck. I dont feel bad until I'm hungry, have finished eating or drinking or when iv done some physical movement. I'm so tired of this and feel so down and angry. Praying things will get better soon.

Lcw29 · 02/10/2024 19:21

I feel you with the nausea. I was taken to hospital today with crushing pain across the top of my back and my abdomen . I was in tears. I then passed out at a@e . Got put in fluids, oxygen and bloods done. Nearly fainted again later. But everything was clear. No idea what the pain was but not clots or heart. I'm nervous to have my scan next week as im hoping baby is OK. After a second iv drip I was sent home but told to rest and drink more as I've been dehydrated. Can gas cause this much pain? I'm so constipated! But it's all in my top back. So confused

Hi all! I am due end of April 2025! Just over 10 weeks now. Maybe someone has asked this question as the thread is quite long however my midwife asked if I wanted to test for the 3 syndromes at my 12 week scan. I mean do people usually get this and is it just a measurement of back of baby’s neck & a blood test? Sorry never got this far in pregnancy so i have no idea! Thanks in advance x

Halo20 · 03/10/2024 21:13

@Pinkieblue24 I had my 12 week scan last week and was offered this and thankfully they all came back low risk.

From what I gather from the leaflets/book I got at my booking in appointment it seems everyone is offered the screening for edwards disease, down symdrome and patau syndrome at the 12 week scan.

LottieW93 · 03/10/2024 21:21

Hi all, not sure if anyone from the Facebook group will see this but I’ve been hacked out of my account so i can not access it 😫 I also can’t accept anymore people because I can’t get into it. Bloody gutted as I loved that group. I’m trying to get back into my Facebook so praying it works.

just wanted to update though who are also on the facebook group xx

Hello! I’ve linked a website that is really good for explaining about the various tests you can have in pregnancy but yes, essentially it’s a blood test and some extra measurements on the scan. I think if you’re trying to work out whether you want the screening or not it’s important to think about what you might want to do if the screening comes back saying you’re higher risk for one of the syndromes. Would you accept further testing to confirm? If one of the syndromes is confirmed, would you consider termination? They are really tricky questions which I don’t think tend to be covered very well at a booking appointment but are important to think about when you’re deciding whether to have the tests or not.

So went for another scan yesterday ( went last week was meant to be 12w0 but they moved me back to 11w 4 ) this time they moved me forward to 13 w so where I was originally due 10th April! Baby was as uncooperative as ever and laid face down refusing to move to had to go for a 10 min walk eat a choc bar and go back and luckily moved enough to do all the checks! Nub theory on Facebook are all saying girl, I'm going to book a private gender scan in a couple of weeks! Hope everyone's well? That sounds awful re hospital and the pain I have heard of some horrendous gas stories so it wouldn't shock me if it was that x

Ohwelldone · 05/10/2024 08:00

Hi Everyone, We had our 12 week scan yesterday, unfortunately they couldn't detect a heartbeat, so did an internal scan and think baby stopped growing around 8 weeks. Now just going over my options for what to do next and trying to make a decision for that over the weekend.
Good luck with all your pregnancies!

Lowkeyloopy · 05/10/2024 09:43

I’m so sorry @Ohwelldone , I was in exactly the same situation in May, and we were so heartbroken. It’s the cruellest way to have a first trimester miscarriage I think (I have experienced a spontaneous loss as well), but it’s sadly quite common - likely chromosomal. I liked to think of it as my body being too good at being pregnant - it just didn’t want to let go, even though the baby wouldn’t have been healthy. Look after yourself and each other. There’s lots of supportive MN threads on MMC too. Take care xx

Ohwelldone · 05/10/2024 11:04

Thank you @Lowkeyloopy that's a nicer way of looking at it. Sorry for your losses! It is definitely cruel to still be having all the symptoms but knowing nothings happening.

We will thank you x

Very happy to share that all went well at the 12 week scan today. After the MMC in May diagnosed at the last scan, I was an absolute mess of anxiety beforehand, but all seems well. Baby wriggling away. Good luck for everyone still waiting on their scans, and sending love and strength to those who didn’t get good news this time.

michelle292429 · 07/10/2024 19:10

What's people's thoughts boy/girl? This was taken 12 weeks 1 day. Currently 14 weeks 5 days and find out on 19th what this baba is xx

That’s great news! I bet you feel such a relief now. I’m currently feeling very anxious about my upcoming scan on Monday. I had a miscarriage in May and I can’t help feel paranoid that it’s going to be a MMC this time. Even all the symptoms I’m currently feeling aren’t really helping relief my anxiety. It’s so hard isn’t it.

Lowkeyloopy · 08/10/2024 09:56

@Dojo13 - it’s so hard. I could tell you to focus on the statistics being massively in favour of this pregnancy being successful / the slim likelihood of recurrent miscarriages, particularly the low likelihood of a MMC.. but I also know myself that nothing will truly help the anxiety other than seeing that baby’s heartbeat on screen. Just try to distract yourself as much as possible before then. Make some plans, watch some light hearted tv and look after yourself! Fingers firmly crossed for you!

Thank you. Luckily I am away with work for a few days this week and then have some friends visiting at the weekend as it’s my birthday on Sunday so that will hopefully pass the time. Let’s hope it’s the best belated present on Monday 🤞🏻

@Toomanyweekstogo yes please if you would! Yes this is Charlotte xx

I really don’t know if there’s anyway for me to join back as nobody else was admin 😫 unless somebody made a new group but I know that’s a nightmare. I’m missing it terribly! Xx

I'm 15 weeks with my 3rd and not felt any movement yet which I thought I would have by now
