So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Twins! Wow! Congratulations!

Anyone else getting really anxious about their 12 week scan if due at the end of April like me? I've also got my NIPT with a scan this week and dreading it in case we have bad news.

I’ve got my scan on 14th October. Feeling very anxious about it as I had a miscarriage in May at just over 9 weeks. Had an early private scan at 8w in that pregnancy which is when we found out I was measuring 2 weeks behind so knew something was wrong. This time I haven’t had an early scan. I figured there’s nothing I can do so just been waiting it out. Thankfully the midwife has booked us in quite early so I’ll be 11w5d for this scan. Really hoping it’s good news this time.

hopeful4us · 29/09/2024 20:39

Congratulations @Cheeseballer and @michelle292429 - welcome!

@Flor88 my 12-week scan is tomorrow and I’m so nervous. This is my first pregnancy and I’ve had symptoms (nausea, sickness, swollen breasts, frequent weeing etc) but I’m still so nervous that the pregnancy ended and my body just doesn’t know. Couldn’t sleep at all last night. Hoping tomorrow is positive so then we can tell my in laws and siblings

Ah mine is around then. Feels forever away still but we're almost in October I suppose. What are you doing to keep busy?

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'll be thinking about you. You're due some luck! I know exactly what you mean though. I'm dreading my scan as part of my NIPT saying my dates are behind or worse.

Hoping someone can help me ease my mind! Had a very full on day today, swimming and soft play with my 10 month old - by myself, the changing is a sport in itself! Followed by being out for dinner and then coming home, dinner, bath and bed routine then the house was a tip so cleaned up, hoovered, cleaned kitchen etc. basically only sat down at 10pm after being out since 11am. During the housework I was getting some sciatic pain down my lower back on the right side shooting up and some on the left, to the point where if I put pressure on it it felt like my leg was about to give way and when I went for my pre-bed wee, I wiped and the !!TMI!! discharge was really yellow and sticky/mucusy, never seen it that yellow before, almost looked like pee colour! Have I overdone it today? Is this normal or do I need to contact midwife?

michelle292429 · 30/09/2024 06:58

@TMI2000 I can't give any advice, but I am home from work today after overdoing it yesterday. I have such a bad back. I cannot stand and I struggled to sleep last night. I hope your feeling better soon x

TMI2000 · 30/09/2024 13:11

@michelle292429 thank you lovely! Yeah, I decided to WFH today as I usually walk the half hour to and from work and I was still in pain walking my son to nursery this morning. Hopefully with rest, you will be feeling much better soon too! This pregnancy is much rougher so far than my first!

Flor88 · 30/09/2024 13:13

@hopeful4us how did your scan go?

Hblooby · 30/09/2024 14:04

@hopeful4us how did your scan go?

All was well! Baby kicking and wriggling away. Can’t quite believe it but so so happy. Have told all our immediate family now which is nice. Will tell work and other friends in the next couple of weeks

Congratulations @hopeful4us ! Lovely news! How did you tell family?

hopeful4us · 30/09/2024 16:21

@Flor88 We FaceTimed my in laws who were very emotional 🥹 and I told my sister by saying she needed to relax her rules on babies at her wedding next year 😂

It’s such a surreal experience. EDD is actually earlier than my LMP predicted so I’m expecting first week of April!

Lowkeyloopy · 30/09/2024 16:23

Hi everyone, long time lurker on this thread, first time poster! Currently 11 weeks after a MMC diagnosed at the 12 week scan a few months ago. Also had one spontaneous loss at 6 weeks a few years ago before having my DS.

Everything was well with this pregnancy at 9 weeks at an EPU scan (got referred by GP). NHS scan booked early next week and it’s all I can think about. I find myself just killing time every day - willing the hours and days to pass to get me closer to the scan. Yet also terrified of it because of the fear of repeating the MMC experience. Anyone in the same boat?

I’m also stressing about symptoms. Before my MMC my symptoms faded a little bit at 9weeks (later found out baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks). Now at 11 weeks my symptoms have faded a bit too. I was so bloated a week or so ago but that’s just gone! I’m still retching a bit (have never been sick in any of my pregnancies) but that’s eased up a bit too. Still tired but not crazily so. I remember my symptoms stopping dead at 11 weeks with my DS and he was obviously fine, but I can’t seem to reassure myself this time because of the MMC last time.

Anyone else who has had a successful scan at 12 weeks notice their symptoms subside around 10-11 weeks?

Thanks all, and congrats to everyone too!

I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through. I think it was around my scan and a little before that my symptoms started easing up in my last pregnancy - which didn't result in a miscarriage - so hopefully it's just a transition into the second trimester for you.

Mine is the week after next but I have a NIPT+scan this week. I've been deep cleaning this evening in an attempt to make the week to go faster. Do you have any plans or distractions that'll help with the wait? An older child helps but not as much as I hoped tbh! The tiredness they cause means I struggle to think rationally sometimes.

I am just over 11 weeks too, I have my 12 week scan on Friday and I cant wait but I'm so nervous!
My symptoms are pretty similar to yours, a couple of weeks ago I was struggling to keep my eyes open in the day and had a bump from bloat, this week the bloat has definitely gone down, I'm still tired but not as much. I am still battling pretty constant nausea and occassional sickness though. I had 2 boys previously and I dont remember feeling this sick constantly in either pregnancy.

Lowkeyloopy · 01/10/2024 17:03

Thank both, it’s reassuring just to hear others’ experiences!

After a very anxious day yesterday (panicking about how tender my boobs were!) today I’ve had my usual retching and am feeling pretty tired, so trying to reassure myself with that.

As for plans.. I’ve got a dinner with some friends and going to see my parents over the weekend so some nice distractions, plus my toddler! Trying to remember that worrying won’t help anything, nothing I do will prepare me for the worst news again and I’ve got every reason to think this will be a successful pregnancy. Just got to say that to myself on repeat.

@Flor88 , if you’re enjoying deep cleaning, do you fancy popping round mine? 😂 With the total lack of energy, my room is a state! DH is picking up the slack elsewhere but he can’t do much about the piles of my stuff scattered all around the room!

Do you mind if I ask what made you go for the NIPT scan? I was considering that myself. Will you be finding out the gender?

@Ohwelldone , so reassuring about the disappearing bloat! I had started convincing myself it was baby belly which it obviously wasn’t. So sorry about the sickness though - hope you turn a corner soon!

T0r11210 · 01/10/2024 18:13

@Lowkeyloopy just to reassure you my symptoms gradually went at 9 weeks and completely gone at 10 weeks. Had 12 week scan last week and everything looked great, healthy heart rate and moving around. I think sometimes the placenta can take over a lot sooner than 12 weeks. I get the odd day where I feel nauseous but nothing compared to what it was. You’ll be fine 😘

Hope you’re feeling better today! Wow you’ll have quite a small age gap but at least they’ll do things together 😊
I’ve had exactly the same kind of CM most of the first trimester and when I extensively googled it seems to be normal and I have no infection and 12 week scan went well.

TMI2000 · 01/10/2024 18:18

@T0r11210 i know! A lot closer together than planned but I also can’t wait for the bond they will have.
thank you so much! I’m probably just overthinking everything since before my 10 month old I had a miscarriage.

I also had a miscarriage just 2 weeks before conceiving this time so I know how worrying it can be 😘❤️ but things work out

TMI2000 · 01/10/2024 18:25

@T0r11210 i had the exact same. Miscarried in Feb 2023 and found out I was pregnant again in March with no period in between. Lovely healthy pregnancy so hopefully that’s helps you too ❤️

The symptoms sound v reassuring!

It is like a pigsty here after weeks of letting everything pile up as I felt so rough! 😂 I'm hoping to not need to do such a deep clean until nesting kicks in.

I decided to go for the NIPT because I'm 35 now but I was extremely anxious on my first pregnancy. The wait for the blood results from the combined testing after my 12 week scan was awful for me personally. It also appeals because it looks at the baby's DNA rather than my hormones. I'm just hoping for a little bit more reassurance so I can enjoy this pregnancy as much as possible. Finally, I know it's not much difference in time, but it also appealed to me thats it's a couple of weeks earlier too. I've selected one that looks at a few other things other than the trisomies too. VeriSeq I think it's called. And a bonus scan which I think can help when they feel so spaced out. I appreciate though that for some fewer scans is better! And remember that the NHS will pay for a NIPT if odds are a bit higher anyway.
