So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

@Rbear9 welcome and congratulations!

@BeachKitten Today was INSET and I’m absolutely shattered but pleased with how well I managed to cope with nausea & heartburn. Lots of snacks and water to sip on! Most concerned by just how quickly I get tired and worried I won’t be able to keep up with the pace of school.

@Thisismyusernameee @Pix89 hope all has gone well for you today 😊

Pix89 · 03/09/2024 07:12

@hopeful4us @Thisismyusernameee thanks! Although I'm onto my 4th week what with being in Scotland. The tiredness is real!!! Hope it's not too much of a traumatic week for you both xx

T0r11210 · 04/09/2024 16:10

Hi everyone, I’m 9 weeks exactly today (had a scan last week which showed a growing 8+2 baby with heartbeat), however having pinkish blood and feeling a bit feverish. Panicking so I’ve text my midwife!
I also ate some salami and billtong the other day without realising it wasn’t allowed so worrying.

Lcw29 · 04/09/2024 17:41

I'm almost 7 weeks but feel awful today been constantly feeling sick. Having to have ice water. Currently in bed whilst hubby occupies my other 2. I don't remember feeling this bad. I had sickness but I actually feel flu like. Hoping it's not a virus as well

So DH and I are thinking of going away towards the end of the year, kind of like a final hurrah long haul holiday.

We wanted to go to Sri Lanka, but it's a Zika risk country. When we brought up Zika with the midwife at my booking appointment, she seemed completely nonchalant about it. I think her actual words were "oh is Zika still a thing, haven't heard anyone talk of it since pre Covid..." She said as long we get our vaccines for that country there's no reason to not travel anywhere while we can.

She was an absolutely lovely midwife, but in general did seem very chilled about a couple of things (my pregnant sister, for example, has a cat and gets warned about litter trays at every appointment. My midwife said not to think twice about it). Anyway, anyone else had this Zika conversation with a professional recently? Would you go, would you not? I'm still inclined to think it's risky and why take that risk, but DH is taking what the midwife said as gospel and thinks it's fine.

No, I wouldnt go. And I’d also ask for a different midwife tbh if she’s been blasé about Zika and toxoplasmosis.

This is from WHO and the most up to date one on their website from 2024.

There are still so many beautiful destinations. Enjoy!

Flor88 · 05/09/2024 13:52

The NHS recommends checking the country on this site: https://travelhealthpro.org.uk/country/204/sri-lanka#Other_Risks

If you scroll down to the Zika section, it states it could be a risk. Personally, I got pregnant with my first the cycle I went on my honeymoon to a Zika destination (although I was away for the start of my cycle and conceived after I had returned home) but I still worried about this throughout pregnancy.

Thanks @Flor88 agree with your thinking - and you’re right, so many other beautiful places to go

TMI2000 · 06/09/2024 12:56

Hi girls! Would love to join ❤ found out I was pregnant a little while ago, but was cautious to join any groups, EDD would be between 25th-29th April! Which is exactly the dates of my hen do 😄I get married the 24th May! 2nd baby but 3rd pregnancy, first ended in a mmc. A lot of anxiety but I just got my clearblue 3+ and I have an EPU scan on Monday so that's given me the confidence to finally join!

Lcw29 · 09/09/2024 09:13

Has anyone been prescribed cyclizine for severe nausea? I'm 7+4 but struggling to eat or drink much. When I do I feel I'm going to be sick and sometimes gag with just having something in my mouth. I've been told to send in a urine sample and if it's got ketones then go to hospital. I'm so hungry but just cannot eat this morning 😫

gg9320 · 09/09/2024 11:27

@Lcw29 yes, I do. I have hyperemesis and take cyclizine and ondansetron. I’m sorry you’re struggling with sickness, it’s the pits :( it sounds like your doctor may suspect hyperemesis too from what you’ve explained. Highly recommend having a look at the pregnancy sickness support website and joining the hyperemesis support thread here on mumsnet. If you need hospital treatment it’s usually a day clinic where they give IV rehydration and IV antiemetics like cyclizine. From experience it really helps break the cycle of vomiting so you can begin to keep oral medication down. What also works from me is very bland foods little and often (cereal, brioche rolls, ready salted baked walkers, plain noodles, plain pasta etc).

I got prescribed this and helped ease the intensity of it, makes you tired though! I feel your pain, I’m 9+4 and it’s starting to ease.

T0r11210 · 09/09/2024 19:16

Hi everyone, anyone’s symptoms starting to go now? I’m 9+4 and suddenly hardly any sickness compared the terrible nausea I’d been experiencing all day every day since 5 weeks. Anyone else’s easing at this time? I have a scan on Thursday.

Whenyoupickapawpaw · 09/09/2024 20:43

@TT0r11210 Hiya, yep I'm exactly the same. 9+6 and feeling far less sick and nauseous. First scan on Saturday. Good luck for yours 💐

T0r11210 · 09/09/2024 21:31

@Whenyoupickapawpaw thank you! Good luck to you as well

I’m with you. I’m 9w+3 and the horrible nausea and heartburn have abated somewhat (still get random flare ups but it’s not half as bad). My midwife said it’s likely our bodies getting used to being pregnant. Still waiting to hear when my first scan will be

4thJulytoAllFoolsDay · 10/09/2024 01:57

Reading all your updates has made me feel so heard I barely needed to post, but EDD of 8 April, checking in!

Tested positive a couple of weeks ago (after smoking my tits off and drinking enough coffee to hospitalise a normal person for the first 7 weeks) and had my booking appointment last week, still haven't told anyone else because - despite us being in our mid 30s - I'm irrationally scared my mum might shout at me 😂

The nausea means the smoking and coffee were easy to knock on the head at least. Will I ever feel less guilty about it or is that the mum guilt everyone talks about?

Redt2s · 10/09/2024 19:09

Hi folks.
we were TTC since 2021. I’m diagnosed PCOS so we knew it might be hard time. Well. In July we had a very busy month! we bought our 1st house + moved, the car blew up (literally!) and the dog ended up at emergency vet! We sensibly then decided we needed a weekend away so went to centre Parcs to decompress a bit a recalibrate. ;)

turns out that did the trick!. First day of last period was 14/7 positive test 14/8 (center parks was BH weekend) had some worries and pain so saw the EPAU and have it confirmed with heart beat and everything. (Scan pic attached)
over the moon with a late April (20th) DD. And just got prescribed anti nausea med as I haven’t been able to hold anything down Si ace Sunday! Currently in bed spooning dog 😂

we have told immediate family however waiting for 12 weeks scan to tell others. Good luck Spring 2025 mommas ❤️

I felt exactly the same! It’s hard being a 30+ teen mom! 😂😂🙃

Congratulations! Really sweet scan!

When you said DD I thought you meant Dear Daughter not Due Date! 😂 I thought you might have found out even this early with a NIPT!

We’re thinking we’re gonna go for the NIPT due to me being 34 and I can’t believe we can find out the sex this early. But not sure we want to! Anyone else going for the NIPT soon?

Redt2s · 10/09/2024 19:57

Aww thank you! Still getting the hang of the acronyms 😂. We are definitely
Going to find out but 3 members of our family have had false confirmations so we will wait to see or not see “it” in a scan :)

No way? At the 20 week scan they were told incorrectly?

Ah! No the NIPT is a blood test to get a clearer and earlier picture of certain genetic and chromosomal conditions. Most people who choose to do it also find out their baby’s sex when this is done. I’m nearly 35 so we’re going to get it done I think.

We’re thinking of going for the NIPT too. I might wait until after I’ve had my combined screening though, because apparently if that comes back as a raised risk you can get the NIPT on the NHS. So I was thinking I might wait and see what the combined screening says, and then if that shows a low risk probably do the NIPT privately around 14 weeks.. but today I was thinking I might just do it at 10 weeks. So I’ll probably do it but I’m undecided on the timing!

When are you planning to do it?
