So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

My GP prescribed me cyclizine for the sickness. The only thing that helped before was eating little and often but even then I was still extremely nauseous!

I’ve just seen this thread! Would love to join you all along the way ☺️

I’ve been reading all your comments and I’m sorry that some of you have experienced loss along this journey. Sending you all the hugs and love ❤️

It’s been lovely hearing all of your experiences so far. I believe I am 7 weeks today!

@Pix89 @hopeful4us @Thisismyusernameee teacher also! I am too dreading my return to work on Monday as I’ve some awful all day nausea for the past week. Im not sure how I’ll cope with 30 year threes come Wednesday. I haven’t been sick yet but I’ve been close a few times. It’s my first baby, does anyone have any nausea remedies to try? I can’t stand the thought of eating ginger right now. Thanks for any suggestions xx

I’ve heard having crackers near by for a quick snack helps! But I supposed it depends, I certainly feel hungry and nauseated at the same time but yesterday I had my first after food nausea.

Also my first so not much experience either!

hopeful4us · 30/08/2024 18:21

@Thisismyusernameee @Pix89 I just know I’m going to be totally exhausted! Went in today to get prepped and I’m already in bed. Don’t want to tell work until 12 week scan ideally… but we’ll see how I go. I’m a HoD and taking on PGCE student this year as well as doing my professional review this term!!!

hopeful4us · 30/08/2024 18:23

@MeggggsssTTC I don’t know how primary teachers do it at the best of times, let alone in the first trimester! But I’ve got a new mantra atm - we are capable of so much more than we think. My DP actually thinks the distraction of work might help me take my mind of all the symptoms.. fx

Pix89 · 30/08/2024 19:42

@hopeful4us @Thisismyusernameee I had to tell my SLT early on as I have a violent pupil in my class and RA had to be put in place. It was the irrational rage today after school when I was told I had to move a Gym Hall slot to accommodate something else in the timetable...usually a small fix...pure irrational rage lol!!! Lovely pregnancy hormones at work again!

MeggggsssTTC · 31/08/2024 08:45

@Pix89 I also plan on telling SLT sometime next week as I also have some interesting characters in my class this year. Im also expecting the nausea to continue and turn into sickness. I think it will be easier to have time off and get support when needed if SLT are aware. @hopeful4us it sounds like you have a very busy start to the year! Make sure you look after yourself and take help when offered. @Thisismyusernameee I’ll try crackers, I saw someone said salt & vinegar crisps were good too. I’ve found that iced water or drinks help. I’m having some weird food aversions too, some of my favourite foods now seem absolutely disgusting 🤢 I keep sending my other half to the shops each day to pick up any foods that sound nice to eat 😅😂

So I had my booking in appointment with the midwife on Friday and shocked to find out I have to inject blood thinners into my stomach every day from 28 weeks pregnant till 10 days after the baby is here 😵 I'm not to happy about it as with my last baby I bled quite badly and I was just under needing blood so I'm going to question that. I had an entire day Friday with no sickness but now it's come back again all day I just feel so useless with it I've tried everything! Currently 8w 4 days

That's a bit odd. Did she say what the reason was? I've had blood thinners after birth because of being off my feet but never before.

She said it was based on a point system and I scored enough points to need them I'm going to question it at my next appointment

Lcw29 · 01/09/2024 07:48

I Feel for you teachers out there! My youngest starts reception in a week. Feeling quite emotional about that as he's so tiny. My other son is almost 7 and I home educate him as he wasn't coping in school. It's going well tho so I'm looking forward to getting started again. I'm more emotional about my little one going because of how things went with my other son. However it's a different school so I'm hoping he'll settle well. His teacher seems lovely.

Yeah i would . I bled alot in my first so i understand the concern.

Bubblesandballoons · 01/09/2024 08:15

@Hblooby I got told that too, and I’m going to refuse unless they give me a really good reason why, as it’s only because I’m over 35 as that’s all that’s changed since my last pregnancy 🙄.

Yes same here, thats all that's changed for me

Bubblesandballoons · 01/09/2024 08:57

@Hblooby crazy isn’t it. What annoys me most is I have had to fight to get meds to get/stay pregnant due to recurrent miscarriage and now they are throwing stuff at me I don’t need 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Exactly this! I've had group b strep with my last 2 babies, it passed on to my daughter and she ended up in special care so my last pregnancy I was originally told I'd have to have the antibiotics in labour but then my midwife kept removing my sticker off my notes it took me 7 months of fighting to get that sticker back on and it was actually a midwife at another check at the hospital that said no you definitely need them! Then at 39 week I had reduced movement all day soon as i got to hospital of course she started bouncing about but they did a swab and said if anything they would ring 2 days later. Any way when I went into labour a week and 2 days later they said to me you don't need the antibiotics but I insisted I had them when she went to prep them she came back in and said just aswell you insisted I just found that swab had come back group b positive again I don't know why they didn't call you!? So like you I think I had to fight for that so why now they giving anything and everything

Sorry you had to deal with this! Thank goodness your mother instinct kicked in.

I also had Group B strep found in Labour. What would you advise I fight for when in Labour? Is there anything I need to do throughout pregnancy to ensure/confirm if I have it or not or is it fine until I give birth? Thank you!

Did your baby have to have antibiotics after birth? If so then it's best to have antibiotics in labour if not you can ask to be tested nearer your due date. They offered me a test now but I said it's pointless at the moment as if I'm positive now I might not be when in labour and if negative now I might be positive in labour as it can come and go.For me as its been twice she said to just have them. Talk to your midwife about your concerns and I'm sure she can arrange a test for you x

I ended up with an EMCS so they didn’t need them after birth. I had the IV antibiotics when in labour though.

Thank you. I will definitely mention it as nobody needs to worry about something else in labour! Hope it all goes well for you.

Thats just crazy, sorry you had to go through that. It’s exhausting constantly fighting for what you know you’re entitled to and need. Hopefully this one will go a lot smoother for you 🤞🏻 and we both get out of having to have these silly injections.

Well I had my early scan today and all looks OK. Saw the little heartbeat flickering. 💓

However I have been feeling quite anxious the last few days. Having a wobble over everything. Perhaps just hormones but anyone else feeling like this? I'm 6+4

That’s lovely news. Was 6+4 the earliest you could have a scan?

I was exactly the same throughout my first pregnancy and I worried about everything. I’m not much different this time round tbh. I was told that the chance of most of my worries happening were rare - except for miscarriage in the early days of course. But I am telling myself that I am pregnant today so to enjoy it. The weeks quickly pass and the risk of miscarriage does thankfully decrease as the weeks go by. But the main thing I will say is that my anxiety really spoiled my pregnancy and the newborn days so use whatever strategies you know work for you. I find distraction with things I enjoy helps me - and not Googling! I really regret not basking in every moment of my scans. I was too scared to look at the screen until I knew they were fine and healthy.

Not the earliest but I'd been having some pain so the hospital wanted to check. Was a transvaginal one and took a bit of wiggling as she said I had wind in the way 😅🤣

I've got this happyself journal thing that i want to start. Try and get my mindset right. I came off some medication for the pregnancy so I'm probably more anxious because of that too.

Hi everyone, I hope it’s ok that I join? This is my first pregnancy and I’m due in April too and I’m 6+6 today, still not had a scan yet, our private scan is on Saturday and hoping everything is ok!

I’ve had to tell work because I also work in a school and I think our pupils are brilliant but behaviour does pose a risk to baby. It was my first day back today and oh my goodness I am exhausted! The nausea is so bad as well!!
