So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Hello,

Cautiously joining and posting in the hope someone else has been in this position and had a positive outcome!

Been trying for baby no.2 for quite a while and was surprised to fall pregnant the first time using OPKs. Got my first BFP on 26 July. As time went on, I hadn't really been getting much in the way of symptoms whereas with my first, I had nausea and sore breasts from very early on. I booked a private scan for 16 august when I should've been roughly 6 and a half weeks pregnant.

Fast forward to last Monday, I was feeling really faint/dizzy and had severe pain in my right shoulder on and off for most of the afternoon. I called 111 and they eventually asked me to go to a&e to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, due to a history of endometriosis.

After 2 hours in a&e, I was asked to go to the EPU the following morning. They scanned me and said I was 5w6, not ectopic, but too early to see anything inside the sac. They handed me a leaflet for "pregnancy of unknown viability" and asked me to go back a week later. I'm working away from home currently so called my local hospital and asked to be transferred to their care instead. They agreed and had me attend EPU on 16th August.

The sonographer measured me at 6w2, said the sac was empty and they would expect to see a lot more at this stage. My husband and I were taken to a side room and after about 30 minutes, a nurse came in and said come back in 2 weeks for another scan and gave me another leaflet for pregnancy of unknown viability. She was not particularly helpful or comforting in the circumstances.

When I had my first scan at 6w2 with my first baby, you could see the baby and a heartbeat. The 2 week wait is making me so anxious while I also battle all of the usual early pregnancy symptoms. I've pretty much given up hope that I will receive good news next week and expect to be told I have a blighted ovum. I've never had a miscarriage before so equally scared at the thought of potentially having to go through that.

I'm fairly certain my dates are accurate too as my cycles are really regular and I used OPKs, getting my first positive test at 10 DPO.

Has anyone else been through this and had good news at the follow up scan? It feels like absolute torture being in limbo like this 🫠

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I experienced this on my last pregnancy and unfortunately it ended in miscarriage. I was scanned on 5w4d and empty sac, the next week there was a teeny tiny yolk sac but there should have been more there, the next week there was barely any growth at all and they called it as nonviable.

The waiting for a solid answer is complete torture so I completely get how you're feeling. Sending you love xx

Flor88 · 23/08/2024 11:26

Hi all. I’d like to very cautiously join. I have put off joining for a few days not wanting to tempt fate but it’s killing me not being able to talk about it to anyone other than my husband. I’ll be due at the end of April.

Gracie1825 · 23/08/2024 20:32

Tentatively joining too, i had a scan today and all well so far but I'm an older mam so more risky. Hoping for a healthy sticky bean💕

Most likely that, try not to worry, did the spotting stop?

myselfand · 23/08/2024 22:30

I got a BFP this week too, so tentatively joining 🙈 this was a surprise this week!

Sdo13 · 23/08/2024 23:31

Hi everyone first time posting on here!

So lovely to hear all the April baby chat 😊

I’m currently 4w2d and due on 30th April according to my app. I had a miscarriage a couple of months ago which would have been a NYE baby. Feel very lucky to get pregnant again so soon but am also feeling very anxious. I got pregnant first month trying back then and it always felt a bit too easy. I’m 36 and my husband is 38. Got pregnant again my first proper cycle after the miscarriage so really hoping this one sticks around.

It’s nice reading everyone else’s experiencing. I’ll try to keep positive! I am feeling a little nauseous and it’s hit and miss whether I have a tired day. I’m having very vivid dreams and not sleeping the best so hopefully they are all good signs!

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through. Unfortunately I had something similar a few months ago where I went for a private 8w scan but was only measuring 6w. There was a heartbeat so the sonographers were congratulating me even though I told them my worry about being 2 weeks behind with dates and when I first had a positive test. Unfortunately I ended up miscarrying at 9w2d which was the day I was supposed to go for my first midwife appointment.

I know how hard the waiting can be. I also spent a lot of time searching on forums for a miracle. I did see some lucky people who it all worked out for in the end. I have my fingers crossed you will be one of those but it if isn’t then from my experience miscarrying at a similar gestation it was just like very strong period cramps.

Let us know how you get on ❤️

IVFlife · 25/08/2024 08:36

Hello. Welcome everyone who is new and congrats!

@Ribenab3rry how stressful for you. Sorry you are going through this. Let us know how you are x

IS anyone else on progesterone after an ivf pregnancy or for another reason? I'm on 3 400mg progesterone pessaries today after ivf Because my body wont make its own hormones. I'm currently 7+4. I do 2 pessaries vaginally and the middles one of the day rectally.

I've been finding the vaginally ones harder to get up high recently! It feels much more swollen inside. Has anyone else experience this as their pregnancy progressed?

Bubblesandballoons · 25/08/2024 11:42

@IVFlife I’m on progesterone and also 7+5 and noticed last couple of days it didn’t feel as though it went as deep. It’s also given me thrush which makes it feel uncomfortable inside, I’ve treated it once, but feels like it coming back 😩. I can’t do rectal as I have Utrogestan not cyclogest, so just counting down till I stop them and hoping it all settles then.

Hi I’m 7 weeks with baby number 2, also have a 2 year old, and I’m really struggling with sickness and tiredness! I felt OK a few weeks ago but have really gone downhill now! Feel constantly exhausted and sick and struggling to find anything I want to eat and it’s getting me a bit down and frustrated! Anyone got any tips on foods or drinks to try, ways to help the sickness or have more energy? Will try anything at this point! TIA

I find Huel good for getting the right nutrients in when you can’t really stomach anything. I just find myself eating a lot of beige food so at least with Huel I’m getting some goodness in 😅 I usually do half portions as it is technically a meal replacement. For nausea I like the Clipper Ginger and Tumeric tea. Hope it passes soon ❤️
