@PinkWatermelon88 sorry I am not sure what you mean. We plan to use the snuzpod crib for the first few months?

HRP1990 · 21/07/2024 11:34

@PinkWatermelon88 the Snuzpod is a bedside crib designed for sleep.. are you getting confused with the sleepyhead/dockatot?

PinkWatermelon88 · 21/07/2024 11:40

@HRP1990 @Happylittlebump OMG I AM!!!!!! Im sorry. Totally wrong product I was thinking…. Never mind, as you were :)

Cat2022 · 21/07/2024 12:00

@PinkWatermelon88 we got my daughter a bunny jellycat when we found out she was a girl and now she loves the hop little bunnies song so runs to get it everytime its lovely. I didn’t even think about getting one for this one - poor second child haha but might take dd to help me pick one out for him and it can be her present to him.

Lillers · 21/07/2024 12:15

@PinkWatermelon88 Yeah I definitely wouldn’t put any kind of toy/loose anything in with the baby while they’re sleeping - definitely for general comfort only!

malimoon · 21/07/2024 12:27

@PinkWatermelon88 i was going to say, if it will be a gift from big sister you should get her opinion too!

@Happylittlebump we have a cot but we got it second hand from my partner's mum (she's been using it for when his sister visits from the US with her young kids) so we didn't have to buy it, just pick it up. Plan is for baby to be in the next to me crib for the first several months anyway. So you could definitely leave it to spread the cost a bit

Decaffe · 21/07/2024 12:59

@Happylittlebump we’re not planning on getting the cot until March / when he needs it.

WinsandSam · 21/07/2024 13:39

@PinkWatermelon88 yes! We got a little mushroom one 💕adorable.

@Happylittlebump we have a cot bed but only as it came in a set we got on marketplace. So saves buying one down the line in the six months. Also means the nursery can get completed

Wow it feels absolutely crazy that this is where we are / felt like a quick year even though finding out I was pregnant was sooooooo long ago - January 10th the be exact 😮‍💨

blinds ordered I went for black out but Roman, so hope they do the job 🥵 I know she won’t be in here for months but it’s needs must for us as short on space otherwise. Car seat arrived and I have Snuz pod up and a Snuzbaskit to get ready for downstairs
i wont wash bedding until just before - but half the clothes are washed I skipped 3 months + because I’d likely end up doing it again!

baby girl went from 49th to 85th percentile!?! But they said they aren’t worried 🤡 I am 😂😂😂

We just spent 4h in IKEA and bought the outstanding furniture. We are going to be putting a single bed in the nursery along with the snuzpod.
The only toys that will go with the crib now are ones that are attached to the wall of the snuzpod (we have a cloud and a jaquard fox 🦊) that way he can’t reach them and they’re technically not on the mattress in the crib and they’re attached to the wall.

After we assemble the furniture and put all stuff in its place the last thing for me to do will be to pack my hospital bag.

We don’t have a standard cot either, we’ll be buying one once he outgrows the snuzpod.

tierneytarny · 21/07/2024 15:34

We’re looking at buying the octopus Jellycat; I’ve wanted it for ages 🤣 but as we’ve still got tonnes to actually sort, it’s way down the list 🙈

PinkWatermelon88 · 21/07/2024 16:02

Haha love all the jellycat chat, they’re just so cute!!

We don’t even have a room for the baby, after 6m. We’ve outgrown our house and the quote to renovate was close to €300k so we’re not sure what avenue to take. It’ll all work out I’m sure. Feeling very guilty for the lack of planning/conscious consideration this time around versus last time when we were on the ball with everything.

Cat2022 · 21/07/2024 16:08

@tierneytarny I might get that one too as the book is one we read dd every night before bed so would be nice to finally have an Odell teddy.

My lower back is in agony today and I think baby has turned head down so could be why. I had already booked the chiropractor for next Friday so hopefully that helps.

Hop back onto the saddle of the old cowboy that got us into this mess 😂 made me lol into my tea this morning!

Don’t forget the raspberry leaf tea.. pineapple.. curb walking!? etc 😂 my daughter was overdue so I remember trying most things lol

It’ll be like all his christmases have come at once 🤌🏻🤌🏻😂

i forgot about the tea! Am I supposed to get it from anywhere specific? Somewhere legit? I’ll curbwalk til I’m blue in the face if it gets her head out before she splits me in two 🥸

Don’t worry, if it’s any consolation, we’re still in a 2 bed flat with our third due in a matter of weeks. We are definitely space poor 🥲 So until we manage to move (and we’re renting.. in London, a total madness.. 🫣) she’ll be bunking with us

PoppingUp · 21/07/2024 16:44

I've just put on one of those bump sheet mask things and 1) having been a bit worried about a quiet bump all day, it immediately started wriggling, maybe from the temperature change? Either way, cheered me right up! 2) I looked at the size of the mask and thought it would be hanging off me but it fit exactly on the bump 😅

I've not bought a cot yet- planning to do that after baby is here too as they'll be in the bedside crib for as long as possible. I do still need to order sheets for the snuzpod but keep baulking at the idea of spending £20 on just two sheets that will only get dirty anyway...slightly tempted to just buy one nice normal bed sheet and cut it up into lots of little ones but as I'm not crafty enough to add elastic I'm thinking it might be a pain to fold them to get them to properly stay in place.

WinsandSam · 21/07/2024 17:25

@PoppingUp I got a load of sheets/waterproof ones from here. Half the price of original brands. I haven't used yet obvs but can't see there being any issues

rupertbear91 · 21/07/2024 17:43

My MIL has got us a jellycat but won't tell us which one!

Anyone else keep forgetting about how big their belly is and knocking it? I opened the car door onto it today and it actually really hurt I'm hoping baby's ok 😫

PoppingUp · 21/07/2024 17:51

@WinsandSam you're a star!

Xur · 21/07/2024 18:00

@rupertbear91 I literally walked into a door handle last week and ended up with a bruise on my belly, like one that went blue and green…

rupertbear91 · 21/07/2024 18:23

@xur glad it's not just me! I have a big red mark currently the midwife at my appointment tomorrow will wonder what is going on!

LSW82 · 21/07/2024 19:15

@PoppingUp if you just search for sheets by size on Amazon you'll get non brand options coming up, I did that last time for our snuzpod & they were fine

tryingfortwo2 · 21/07/2024 21:19

Our garage conversion starts tomorrow, so once it’s completed I can kick DH out of the 3rd bedroom and turn it into a nursery. 5 weeks to go, what could go wrong? 😂

I know baby won’t do overnights in the nursery for 6m+ but I loved having DD1s room as a calm little sanctuary to hang with her, a change from downstairs on days I couldn’t be bothered leaving the house. And we started naps in her own room from 4m-ish so that when it came to moving her at night she was so used to the room already that it wasn’t really much of an event. Figure I’d rather get it ready now than try to juggle it in those first few months post-partum,
so I’m excited to get on with it!

TripleESept24 · 21/07/2024 21:23

Well I did a "full shave" shower tonight. I think I did an ok job of the noon all tho I couldn't see it!!

I then also dermaplaned and fake tanned, followed by ..... Painting my toe nails!!!! Ouch!! My back! And to make it worse, they didn't even set properly in my gel UV lamp and are a mess!! But my back is hurting so much and I'm so tired I literally said screw it and I'm gonna go get a pedi tomorrow or Tuesday!!

Things are getting really difficult now 😭

Lillers · 21/07/2024 21:48

Had a relatively nice day today - DH blew up my pregnancy ball for me so I’ve had several little bounces and it definitely feels like it’ll help with my back and hip pain.

DH also finally finished clearing his things out of the office, so it’s now ready for cleaning before being painted and converted into the nursery. I do feel a bit bad for him because he has sold all his gaming equipment and that was what he used for his down time.

I’ve done lots of GD-friendly cooking today so feel like I’ve actually eaten well which has helped me feel better.

And finally, my daughter keeps head butting me really hard in the side and you can literally see the shape of her head pushing out of my side. It’s so dramatic and she’s doing it all the time!
