@longingtobe23 my last midwife appt was the first time they hadn't had to take my blood pressure more than once to get a reading they were happy with, maybe we're just getting used to having it taken!

rupertbear91 · 19/07/2024 13:41

Am I just being paranoid or does it look like my bump isn't growing. Photo on the right was at 27 weeks and left at 30 weeks. Had a scan at 29 weeks and he was ok but other than it looking like he moved upwards I swear I don't look any bigger 🤦🏽‍♀️

@rupertbear91
I think you’re being paranoid, I’ll tell you why.
look at the bridge of the dress under your bump in the left picture, it’s more stretched out. On the picture on the right the dress can still surround the bump.
I got that same effect when my belly outgrew the stretchineas of the clothing.
Also pay attention to your back. On the picture to the left to me it looks like you’ve gained volume in the back, same thing happened to me after I actually have a growth spurt on the belly. That fat on the back is there to support the belly, because of the decreased curve on our back the belly looks like it’s protruding less. Because we simply take on a pear shape 🍐

rupertbear91 · 19/07/2024 14:36

Thanks @Xur it's good to get someone else's opinion because I feel such a responsibility in trying to spot when anything is wrong 🤦🏽‍♀️

Xur · 19/07/2024 14:39

@rupertbear91 you are most welcome 🤗 ☀️

malimoon · 19/07/2024 14:57

@rupertbear91 I agree, I think your bump does look bigger. And if baby is growing then you must be!

Xur · 19/07/2024 15:17

Here’s me bump today at 32+6! As you can see it’s not that low at all. The downside of having him head down is the discomfort on the bladder, I feel like I’m about to get a UTI, but in reality it’s him pushing on and I also think I got the lighting crotch today.

Some gorgeous bumps on here. Mine is really low too. I would show you mine now at 34+2 but currently virtually naked in the garden and I don't want to scare you all, I don't have many bump pics because I keep forgetting the take some but here's one at 33 weeks ✌🏼🌷🌸🌿

@SC126 yes nhs here too! I think we'll be fine and know it could be much worse. As a FTM I guess my life will be a lot different and I won't spend like I do now anyway. Will be home more etc. not out for fancy dinners and buying whatever I want 😂

@malimoon wow that's so good! I'm NHS so thought it would be better. But first 2 months are around £1200 but can't complain. Could be on stat pay only.

@Xur I don't think it matters if head down or breach. I found both incredibly painful at times on my bladder and cervix. Like something is going to fall out or I might wet myself 😳

Babyplease23 · 19/07/2024 16:56

@rupertbear91 I honestly wouldn't stress, I brought up the same thing to my midwife the other day and said that I didn't feel like I'd grown at all between my 27 week and 30 week appointment. She measured me and said I had definitely grown and right on track too!

Emmaev · 19/07/2024 20:36

I feel like I’ve just gone massive and there’s still another 6 weeks left. I haven’t weighed myself or anything as I did end up putting on 5 stone with my eldest, but I was mega swollen, and then her being in nicu I ate a lot of McDonald’s. I lost it all in the end. So weight never really bothers me, I kinda figure my body will just do what it’s got to do.

Im 33+4 today, I had my daughter at 33+6 so I’m excited to get to Monday and be my most pregnant I’ve ever been.

I'm 32 weeks exactly today and I feel like I have just got massive aswell!!

And omg it's SO HOT!! I cannot sleep!! I just ordered a tower fan coming tomorrow! I can't cope Another 8 weeks of this if August is hot!!

namechangemama101 · 20/07/2024 01:01

Due 22 sep, anyone started thinking about hospital bag? Will be baby number 2 but can't for the life of me remember anything 🙈 which disposable underwear is best? Tena or always??

rupertbear91 · 20/07/2024 07:49

@namechangemama101 I'm due 22nd too and bag packing is in progress. But I am an over organiser and panic if I have too many things left to do 😂

Emmaev · 20/07/2024 09:03

I’m due the 2nd September and haven’t even started my hospital bag yet. I have a few bits in my basket, but haven’t been in a major rush to sort it.

My feet have started to swell and I’ve got pitting oedema which has stressed me out. Urine and bp are still fine, but I’ll be checked again on Wednesday. Every time I’ve googled about pitting it always says it’s pre eclampsia and only swelling is normal in pregnancy, maybe I’m silly but is there much difference? I don’t have swelling anywhere else.

TripleESept24 · 20/07/2024 09:57

I am 13th September and I haven't packed my bag yet! In babies nursery everything is in a neat pile though so it's ready to go in!

I last did it 20 years ago! And I feel like there's so much more this time! 🤣

mrsbgb · 20/07/2024 10:23

Also due 13th September and haven’t started packing - I’m planning a home birth but know I need a bag ready just in case!

In better organisation news my husband is painting the nursery today and has hired a carpet cleaner to freshen that up as well, and the nursery furniture arrives today.

I’m feeling quite emotional at the moment (what else is new over the last seven months…) - on the one hand I’m so excited to meet our baby, but I don’t want to wish the time away and feel very conscious these are our last few weeks as a family of two, which I’ve loved so much in different ways. Feels like there’s so much to do and not much time, but rather than cracking on I’m avoiding everything!

Lillers · 20/07/2024 11:15

Going to visit my friend who had her baby a few weeks ago this afternoon.

I don’t know if I’m a bit odd with this, but ever since I found out I was pregnant I haven’t wanted to hold anyone else’s baby. I went to see my family the day after my positive test and actively avoided holding my baby niece - at the time I put it down to getting my head around my own pregnancy, but honestly it hasn’t changed at all since then. I have been around several babies since and not wanted to hold any of them. Part of me feels like everyone would be watching how I handle them and judging my potential as a mother, while another part just thinks, “but it’s not mine, I don’t want them if they’re not mine”.

Has anyone else felt like this?

PoppingUp · 20/07/2024 11:29

@Lillers yes! I've been having funny feelings about visiting a (not super close) friend's new baby. I think for me it is mostly worry that I would feel really anxious holding them and that would then make me worry unnecessarily about how I was going to cope with my own! But also now you mention it there is definitely a self-conscious element in there too, knowing people would be looking at me doing it. Really reassuring to know I'm not the only baby dodger currently 😂

PinkWatermelon88 · 20/07/2024 12:18

@namechangemama101 I'm due 17th of Sept and the first weekend in August I've himself booked in for attic runs to get everything down from baby #1 so I can go through it. I'll wash the clothes then that week and pack. I think as long as we're packed by 35/36 weeks we'll be grand. I've my list started anyway so at least I feel a bit prepared haha

Lillers · 20/07/2024 12:45

@PoppingUp Yes exactly this! I’ve never had any issues with babies before, but I genuinely worry that if it cried or looked at me funny it would make me anxious 😂

WinsandSam · 20/07/2024 13:22

@TripleESept24 that's incredible that you have a 20 year age gap between bubbas. So amazing 🤩

@mrsbgb I know what you mean. It's scary to think how different life will be, never the 2 of us again. Makes me well up 😭 feels a lot of pressure and no time.

I'm due 23rd, but c section will be week of 16th. Haven't packed a bag, but have sorted all my smellies/toiletries/disposable pants, nighties and maternity pads so they're in a pile in case of an emergency.

I'm waiting to finish work Thursday and then I'll crack on 👌

longingtobe23 · 20/07/2024 14:23

ive started small bits but have no clothes or towels for and … snacks or yeah okay I’m missing a lot but it is starting to pile up 😝

longingtobe23 · 20/07/2024 14:24

Being told I might have a section and have baby at 38 weeks is scaring me! That’s just over 6 weeks away 😳
