Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

Wishing you all the best @Martibum can't wait to hear how it all goes and your chosen names. Check back in as soon as you feel able 🫶🏻

PinkWatermelon88 · 10/07/2024 09:23

@Martibum good luck to you and the girls! Must feel very real now :)

Ended up in A&E for hours last night. I’ve been getting really sore under my left ribs, like a bad stitch. Coming and going but has gotten worse the last few days and has moved to the centre of my boobs, top of my bump. Thankfully baba is doing great, lots of movements and Drs suspect it’s the head as baby is breech. The most tender part in between my boobs showed that’s exactly where the baby’s head was in the scan. All vitals grand, getting bloods take today. But they reckon it’s ligament stretching, airs positioning and possible indigestion /stomach issues from organs being squished.

And yet I can’t help feel super anxious. I’ve a lot going on personally and I know it’s anxiety over that transferring but I’m afraid of it being something wrong with the placenta. Going to give it a few more days, take the drugs suggested (Paracetamol and buscopan) and if I’m still not right head back on in 🙈❤️

Emmaev · 10/07/2024 11:07

How amazing @Martibum wishing you all the best in the next month.

Ive been discharged from consultant lead care and officially low risk. She said that everything points to a 40 week pregnancy. No sign of pre eclampsia, I also asked about my gd concerns and she said that all my results are in range and nothing to be concerned over. Actually feel for the first time this pregnancy we’re going to make it full term

Xur · 10/07/2024 11:27

@Emmaev great news!! It must have come as a massive relief 👏🏻

@Martibum Good luck and looking forward to your next post!

on the back of my yesterday’s rant. I rung into my surgery to find out exactly where my next scan appointment is, local hospital or regional hospital. My surgery had no idea. So I rung the regional hospital and they told me it’s with local hospital’s X ray department. Then I rung the community midwife office to ask about when am I seeing a consultant because last time I went for a consultant scan I did not see a consultant, they told me I’m supposed to be seeing a consultant right after the scan. I did mention my midwife wasn’t too interested in discussing the birth plan so I was wondering if I’ll get to speak to one. My friend said however as far as she knows my local hospital doesn’t have consultants based there. After today’s phone call marathon I’ve ended up with a missed call from my midwife which she won’t return now. Not sure if she’s calling me now to question me why I’ve fed back of her unwillingness to discuss the birth plan or if it’s about the scan. Regardless it’s the first time she’s ever tried to ring me, before she has not returned my previous text messages. 💁🏻‍♀️ if I will not be seen by a consultant after the next weeks scan I will make a MASSIVE scandal.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 10/07/2024 12:35

Good luck @Martibum wishing you all the best! Will you be having a section? Have they scheduled you in for one as a 'cut off date' ?

Lillers · 10/07/2024 12:47

@Martibum It’s exciting that the first babies of the group will be here soon! Good luck with everything, keep us updated when you can!

@Emmaev Yay! I’m so happy that everything’s looking good for you.

@Xur Keep it up you strong woman - if we don’t advocate for ourselves, nobody’s going to do it for us. I hope they give you some proper answers soon.

As for me - I am so exhausted and in so much pain at the minute (all joints and muscles pretty much!). Nearly cried when my alarm went off this morning because I was facing the other way in bed and I couldn’t turn over to switch it off 😂. Luckily there’s only a week and a half at work until we break up for summer - I’m planning on coming back in September for a week or so but won’t be doing any proper work.

rupertbear91 · 10/07/2024 14:09

Wow @Martibum best of luck. So exciting our babies our going to start arriving soon!

I just had an hour and a half appointment with my consultant. She's really lovely but actually I feel more scared for giving birth now not sure how that happened 🤦🏽‍♀️ she was very reassuring about my heart issues that it isn't going to compromise labour but my liver enzymes are high now so she's run more tests.... never a dull minute!

cd24x · 10/07/2024 15:33

Good luck @Martibum!

At midwife appt, they've tested my urine and found keytones and protein. They're not too worried as BP is fine, although have sent it off for further testing. They're concerned I'm not eating enough though. Problem is with the GD I can't up my carbs without spiking my blood sugar 😭 Feels like a bit of a rock/hard place situation.

WinsandSam · 10/07/2024 15:56

@Martibum wow, how exciting for you!! You've really been hard done by with the lack of time 😂

@PinkWatermelon88 sorry to hear you've been in hospital. Understandable to feel anxious! Fingers crossed you feel better soon.

@Lillers the turning in bed is awful! I feel like a paralysed whale 🐳 it's ridiculous

I too have started on my hospital bag! Still haven't thought about baby yet.
Here's my list

September 2024 - Thread 8!
PinkWatermelon88 · 10/07/2024 17:22

Thanks @WinsandSam <3 Your list looks great! I must start compiling mine soon and getting organised. I'll aim for first weekend in August to bring things down from the attic and pack the week after maybe x

tryingfortwo2 · 10/07/2024 19:19

@Martibum how exciting! Looking forward to your next update.

@Emmaev delighted for you - hopefully you’re able to enjoy the tail end of pregnancy a bit more now 🤞🏻

Has anyone started on the raspberry leaf tea..? I had my first cup today and it threw me right back to the end stages with DD1 and made me feel a little like the end is in sight!

Xur · 10/07/2024 20:32

@tryingfortwo2 not that, but I’m eating dates.
I am also trying to gather the motivation to do perineal massage 😒😬

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 10/07/2024 21:35

@tryingfortwo2 I've got the capsules in my amazon basket ready to order when I hit 32 weeks! Never had them with my first, but took me 30 hours of contractions to get from 1-2cm so hoping they'll do some speeding up in the early labour stages this time round!

tryingfortwo2 · 10/07/2024 22:12

@Xur I did the dates from 36 weeks the first time too. It’s so funny how much the internet warns you off eating them before then.. like what if people just like eating dates?! Surely they can’t be THAT potent. You’ll be the proof 😂

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I was just under 7 hours start to finish, but was on the drip so speed wise that’s probably cheating 😂 hoping for no induction this time so I’ll be drinking tea, eating dates, kerb walking, side stepping, ball rolling to no end!

Honeyandsunshine1 · 10/07/2024 22:45

I did the dates bang on 36 weeks - 4 medjool a night. I woke up 38+2 and my waters went. Obviously can’t say for sure if the dates did that but in my other pregnancy (where I ate 0 dates) I did not go into spontaneous labour 😂 so, 🤞🏻 I like to tell myself they worked

tryingfortwo2 · 10/07/2024 22:51

@Honeyandsunshine1 I am here for the second baby magic stories 👏🏻👏🏻 putting it into the universe that I won’t need an induction this time because this little one is going to be prompt!

longingtobe23 · 10/07/2024 23:08

Baby moved from breech, so much more comfy and let us get some photos / even still in a tricky position!
I ate a bag of winegums before I went in 😂🥳
placenta still super low and she is resting on it - so that’s next to shift! I got so many pics but this has to be my fave as she looks like her brother!

September 2024 - Thread 8!
Cinai · 10/07/2024 23:14

I was a bit quiet on here but love to see all the bumps and baby photos 😍 I’m now exactly 30 weeks and as I’ve opted for a c section, I’m 9 weeks away. Among the excitement about seeing the finish line and meeting my baby soon, I have to say that I’m also very scared of the surgery and the painful recovery. I’m doing all the hypnobirthing, relaxation and positive affirmations I can find, but I’m literally shaking if I imagine laying on the table very soon.

Decaffe · 11/07/2024 06:57

Morning all, 30 weeks today and off to a scan with the consultant at 9am. Looking forward to seeing him as it’s been ten weeks since my last scan, but equally a little anxious that all will be okay with his growth, the amniotic fluid, the blood supply and so on!

WinsandSam · 11/07/2024 07:23

Hey @Cinai I too have opted for a c section! This is my first baby, as I'm 40 I have to give birth before 40 weeks. So like you have 9 weeks left.
I'm actually crapping myself about the c section! I'm scared of any medical procedure. Have been having therapy around it.
Like you am going to do hypnobirthing to help relax me. There's also a cseftion course through Csection UK I plan on purchasing.
The hospital have said I can be booked in 1st on the list so don't have to wait around. Also going to ask for meds to relax me

RosiePH · 11/07/2024 08:03

After attending my 28 week appointment this week and finding they had no internet and couldn’t do my appointment, it’s finally been rescheduled (only because I chased it up) for when I’m 30+3 weeks. And my 31 week appointment will be at 32 weeks (10 days later).

Hope that’s still okay for getting bump measurements as I’ve not been booked for a GTT, so will be relying on these measurements appearing normal.

PinkWatermelon88 · 11/07/2024 08:13

@longingtobe23 fab pic :) can I ask about your baby turning, did you do anything to try help them to turn? I’m 30 weeks baby breech last 5 or so weeks and I’m really anxious about it. Half considering a chiro but they’re not regulated in Ireland and I’d be afraid they’d cause more damage than they’re worth :( Been doing spinning babies twice a day x

Honeyandsunshine1 · 11/07/2024 09:00

@tryingfortwo2 eek!! Sending you all the positive vibes and hope you get the birth you want 🤞🏻😍✨ if it helps, my first was a horrendous induction so when I was approaching my second, I was terrified. But I did all the positive affirmations, the hypnobirthing, the dates, lots of walking (but internally prepared for a rendition of my first) but lo and behold, waters went at 38 weeks and essentially just “breathed” him out on the birth centre. Something I absolutely did not do with my first and wouldn’t have been able to as my head was all over the place. So have faith, because you really can have positive experiences after less-than-positive ones 🎉🩷

longingtobe23 · 11/07/2024 09:23

@PinkWatermelon88 i have been sitting on the sofa in the eve with legs out in front of me or on the side
so I won’t sit with legs down on the floor if that makes sense?
I just read it gives a little more shuffle room, but so does lying down at bed I guess 🤞🏻

But I did nothing concrete to get her to shift - it was only 4 days before I had the first scan! So it can happen quickly 🤞🏻 also I know they can Bob back up 😂 a friend of mine suggested swimming towards the end and some rolling around in the pool!
But my midwife said they’re chill until 36 weeks. I’ve just gone 30 xx

RosiePH · 11/07/2024 09:26

How do you know what position your baby is in? I think mine could be breach and transverse (rotating between the 2) because I feel movement in the pelvis or at both sides of my tummy at the same time.

But as I’ve not had my bump measured and I don’t know what I’m feeling for myself (nothing seems obvious!) I can’t tell.

I went to triage for reduced movement yesterday and the heartbeat was just to the right of my belly button. But other than a very light feel of my bump, I haven’t had a midwife properly check it yet and now won’t until 30 weeks.
