I have just tested positive today with a due date of 2 February. Have had a look and I can't see that anyone else has started a group for Feb yet. Is there anyone else out there who would like to join?

Hi Everyone I did a test this morning and it says 3+ !

I am a little bit worried as at the moment I've been feeling like my uterus is pinching / pulling and it comes and goes. Worried this might be ectopic pregnancy ! Does anyone else experience this ??

I'm having a lot of twinges/ligament pains it's hard to tell what they are but they are all over and come and go.

I'd say unless it's constant on one side its unlikely to be ectopic but definitely seek advice if needed.

I'm just getting on with mine currently as it's not always there.

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 10:28

Lucy, it might just be things stretching and settling down. You say it comes and goes - do you find that if you change position or get up and walk around it lessens? I wouldn't worry unless it is a consistent strong pain. I had a fair few twinges and I think they were probably round ligament pain (or trapped wind!).

Keep an eye on it though and, if it feels weird, give your local hospital's EPU a call as they will be able to advise.

And congrats on the test!

Thank you for your reply! It tend to happen a bit more at night time. I also thought it was trapped wind… it’s not a severe pain. Just like someone was picking at it and it doesn’t feel like period cramp. sorry I just had one of my friend recently had ectopic pregnancy and now I am probably just being paranoid!

how are you you along? How early can we go to get a scan?

Omg so this is something people experience. Thank god! Yeah it’s mostly on the left hand side of uterus but I think two days ago it did feel like it moved to right. But it’s heavily on the left hand side indeed.

I’ll wait for a little bit and then maybe do a early 6 weeks pregnancy scan just to confirm it’s in the right place eeeekkkk

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 10:50

@MissLucyLiu I'm 7 weeks and 6 days (according to the app) but measuring about a week behind that. I think I must have been ovulating a bit later than expected, which might explain why it's taken us 15 months to get this far, despite working to the alleged 'fertile window'. Maybe that was wrong all along! 😂

If you want to try a private scan, these can be done from 6 weeks onward, but they'll probably advise you to wait until 7 weeks so you have a better chance of seeing a heartbeat. I did one of these and it was very reassuring but it wasn't cheap (£90). On the NHS front I don't think they'll see you before 8 weeks - via the EPU - but you should let your GP / local maternity unit know that you're pregnant (if you haven't already) so that they can get you in the system and line you up with your midwife booking appointment.

But others will probably be able to add more detail here on the NHS front as I haven't yet had my booking slot ☺️

This is me too, I’m 5 weeks and have had on and off cramps for the last 5 days and twinges on my left hand side but it isn’t there all of the time so I’m hoping it’s just the stretching etc
Ive booked a private scan for 7 weeks just to confirm all is as it should be 🤞

Roxttc · 20/06/2024 10:58

I’ve also had a lot of twinges and cramps over the past few weeks and they are more left and central than they are right I think it’s quite common! The trapped gas feeling is the worst as it’s all over and bloats you out think I need to start trying to have lots of small meals a day to see if that helps as it’s recommended

superj21 · 20/06/2024 11:08

I've had lots of twinges and cramps too, sometimes one sided, sometimes everywhere - as other have said I think it's common and unless it's severe pain / accompanied by bleeding it's likely just to be normal growing pains 😊

Thank you ☺️ and congrats to you also! How exciting.

Yeah I appreciate it’s not cheap but I get quite anxious so I rather spend money and have a peace of mind for 2 weeks before the NHS scan maybe. We will see !

yeah I have had the most irregular period and cycle known to man. Ranging between 27 days to 50 days ! Towards the end I just given up I tracking the ‘fertile’ window.

MissLucyLiu · 20/06/2024 11:18

Aww thank you everyone this has reassured me a lot!! Hope everyone have a super healthy and successful journey 🙏🙏

ThatBlueMoose · 20/06/2024 12:18

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 10:08

@ThatBlueMoose Were you able to get through to the EPU? x

Yeah I called them...they gave me an appointment for Monday. Nothing available before then. The bleeding is much lighter now, just need to see how things go😫

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 12:20

@ThatBlueMoose The waiting game is the worst part of all this 🤗 Keep us updated and hope that Monday brings only good news. Come and vent as much as you need to here in the meantime x

retrievermum · 20/06/2024 12:40

Hi everyone, had my scan this morning and all was well! Measuring “7ish weeks” (she got measurements of 7, 7+2 and 7+4 which just goes to show how inaccurate it is at this stage!) and saw a little heartbeat which was very reassuring :)

Absolutely no symptoms at the moment, and I know we aren’t out of the woods but I feel like whenever my husband says “you’re pregnant”, I don’t have to reply with “hopefully” 😂

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 12:42

Great news @retrievermum - you must be absolutely thrilled! Looks like you're furthest along out of the whole lot of us then 👏🏻 It's just good to have that extra bit of reassurance, isn't it? I doubt any of us will really start to believe it until 13 weeks or so - but every little step helps!

retrievermum · 20/06/2024 13:00

@UrbanSquirrel just checked BadgerNotes (does anyone else use that?) and it’s got my EDD as 4th Feb 😊

Definitely nice to have a bit of reassurance, and now 5 weeks until the next scan feels like an eternity!

With my DD I still didn’t really believe it was happening until we were in hospital having her 😂

Hi retrivermum i am also a retrivermum but a golden one. Congrats and really amazing to see heartbeat i am sure!

Can I ask this 7 week scan is a private or a NHS one?

retrievermum · 20/06/2024 14:08

@MissLucyLiu mines a golden too!

It was an NHS one, but only because my dates were all over the shop so the midwife wasn’t confident with how far along I was (I was fairly confident but she said she had to go off dates rather than what I said).

When I was pregnant with DD, I had a private scan at 7ish weeks too though :)

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 14:20

@retrievermum What's BadgerNotes? Intrigued! 🦡

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 14:27

Incidentally, @retrievermum, thanks to mentioning badgers, you are to blame for the traumatic flashbacks I am currently experiencing to Badger Badger Badger in the early days of the internet. Showing my age there 😂

WildFinch · 20/06/2024 14:56

Glad to read everyone's updates!
@retrievermum I've just signed up to Badger notes as well.
@UrbanSquirrel I think it's the name of the software where you can access all your medical notes/appointments etc. different Trusts probably use different things.

I spoke to the EPU yesterday because of spotting and they've booked me in for a 7 week scan on 1 July. Just waiting and trying not to overthink for now.

Interested to know if anyone else has had headaches with caffeine withdrawal? I think mine have faded now but the reduction of tea was a real surprise!

Mushroom mushroom 😂! Badger Notes is the app used to share your maternity records. I was asked to register when I made my booking appointment, although I think it is optional.

retrievermum · 20/06/2024 15:10

@UrbanSquirrel as others have said, it’s basically just your maternity notes in an app! I think how good it is is based around how good your midwife is at releasing information to you on it, and my community midwife with DD was so lovely but fundamentally very useless so my it wasn’t great! Have the same community midwife this time around so hoping she’s upped her game 😂

@WildFinch yes! I’m normally a two or three coffee a day kind of girl so dropping most of them - alongside the hayfever which I can’t take anything for - has been agony! Full fat Coke doesn’t have as much caffeine in it as I thought it did, so I’ve been having a 200ml can on an evening to try and combat the headaches!

retrievermum · 20/06/2024 15:11

Also for anyone struggling with hayfever, I was prescribed Loratadine when pregnant with DD and did take it but it didn’t seem to touch the sides for me. Might be worth looking into for others though!

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 15:14

Thank you to everyone for explaining the enigma of BadgerNotes! I have my booking appointment next week so maybe she'll mention it then.

And thank youn@superj21 for reassuring me that I'm not the only one who remembers that 😜

Mamma364747 · 20/06/2024 16:23

Hello, I'm just over 6 weeks now. I've had a little bit of spotting, maybe 2-3 drops of blood every 6-12h for 1.5d? I'm 44 and I've never had a miscarriage. Do I just see how I get on? I presume the EPU won't be too worried if I don't have history?

Mamma364747 · 20/06/2024 16:24

It's brown rather than red btw. I'm just debating whether I should even call them.
