I have just tested positive today with a due date of 2 February. Have had a look and I can't see that anyone else has started a group for Feb yet. Is there anyone else out there who would like to join?

Been under the EPU for weeks now after being classes as having a PUL after the longest 2 week wait ever I finally seen baby and the heart beat.

There were tears of happiness and they kindly gave me a print out as my partner could not attend the appointment.

I'm a fertility unit patient, so I'm quite lucky and get another scan next week x

That's wonderful I'm so happy for you, I know how hard the wait is to see that little flicker on the screen.

Hettycan · 19/06/2024 20:30

@Bluebell91 I was so scared for the scan today due to not really having any symptoms and previous losses so I can completely relate. I was lieing there just waiting to be told it's an empty sac, and honestly was in shock when she showed me the heartbeat, I barely said anything.
But there was something in there so even with no symptoms stuff is happening! Everything crossed that your scan goes well and provides some reassurance x

UrbanSquirrel · 19/06/2024 21:07

@CJHR18 Congratulations! What a great scan pic as well. How many weeks are you? So happy for you to have such a wonderful result after all that waiting and worry. Big hugs and I hope your partner was thrilled with the pic!

ThatBlueMoose · 19/06/2024 21:59

I'm feeling so stressed tonight. I've had brown/red spotting since I tested positive 2 weeks ago. I'm about 5+5 I think. I've just been to the loo and I'm bleeding quite red now and passed a clot. Can't help but stress and think the worst😫😫 I called epu last week but was told to wait a week so going to call them in the morning. Hopefully they will see me😔

I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope tomorrow will go ok and you'll get your answer/reassurance

@susie1984234 @Pcosdegallo @jaybeez I've also told my boss as well as two colleagues with whom I work very closely. We're in the middle of a major project at the moment for which I'm the lead, and I decided that I needed them to know so that they don't think I'm flaky if I need someone else to cover some of my public-facing work.

Like Susie, I explained it was super-early. Everyone has been great and very supportive, but also very discreet. It means I don't have to come up with too many excuses for doctors' appointments - although we've also had a lot of fancy dinners recently, so the antibiotics excuse has had to be trotted out a lot for other people!!!

Thanks for the reassurance :) I think I might well have to tell them next week. Spent most of today either wanting to spew or half asleep, feels like it has hit like a train this week.
Got the letters through last week for midwife appointments / scan and it's going to be something like 12w 5 days.

Starting to wonder if I should go for an early scan at 8 weeks (sometime next week) or whether just to hold out.

@ThatBlueMoose I'm so sorry I can completely understand how stressed you're feeling, I would be too. Don't let them try and shake you off, demand to be seen. Hopefully it's just a minor bleed and everything is ok 🙏

So sorry you are going through this, the stress of it all is just awful. How is the bleeding since you passed the clot? If it's slowed that could be a good sign your body just needed to pass it but your pregnancy is ok. I really hope they see you in EPU today and you get some reassuring answers. Sending big hugs

ThatBlueMoose · 20/06/2024 06:32

Thanks ladies.
There's not enough blood to go on a pad but still there when I wipe. No more clots thankfully.
I tested again this morning and stoll getting a very strong positive and I'm so nauseous this morning so taking that as a good sign. Epu opens at 8.30 so I'll be calling them then

Good luck this morning @ThatBlueMoose - I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. As someone else said, don't let them fob you off. Keeping everything crossed for you. And do keep us posted. We're here for you x

Thank you so much @UrbanSquirrel! I was measuring at 6+3. I was initially really worried about this because I should be about 7 weeks.

Of course I went to Dr google and now I'm a little less worried. I mean that rarely happens after a Google!

I had an abdominal ultrasound and I have a titled uterus. Apparently all of this can affect measurements at such an early stage zx

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 06:59

@Pcosdegallo That sounds rather odd, to have your booking appointment at the same time as your first scan - maybe it's just a difference in NHS trusts? Personally I wouldn't be able to wait that long (and haven't 😂) but, if you do wait, then you have way more self discipline than I could muster, and should be commended 😁

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 07:03

@CJHR18 Ab, that's interesting because I am in exactly - exactly - the same position. Should've been 7w 3d at the scan, but measured 6w 3d.

I think, first of all, the measuring is not an exact science, and also, DH and I figured out the dates and it's actually perfectly reasonable, what with time allowed for fertilisation and implantation.

It reassures me a great deal that you have had exactly the same experience (although I must say your scan is far more impressive than ours - ours was recently described as "Is that a map of the Black Sea with the Crimea?" 😉).

Will you be scanning again? Because I am too nosy for my own good, we have another scan on 4 July just to follow up and see how things are going.

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 07:04

@CJHR18 Sorry, just saw you have another next week! Keep us updated! x

jaybeez · 20/06/2024 07:55

@UrbanSquirrel @CJHR18 I had something really similar with my DD. I went for my 12 week scan thinking I was 12 + 4 and they said the pregnancy was measuring 11 weeks exactly and I had to come back. I was pretty stressed as it felt like a big gap at that stage, but when I went back a couple of weeks later everything was measuring as it should be.

Wow I didn't realize it can happen even at that stage.

Hello! I am reading every message on this lovely active thread but it’s impossible to reply to everyone. I hope everyone is feeling ok and that the people having a tough time feel better soon.

Is anyone else massively struggling with hayfever? It’s literally ruining my life. I normally take antihistamines all summer but they all say not to take in pregnancy 😭

Pepsix · 20/06/2024 08:48

@Shortcake06 this is me right now I’m suffering so bad 🤧 I’m prescribed them from the gp but can’t take them it’s awful 😞

Missingcoffee22 · 20/06/2024 09:33

Just seen there's a WhatsApp group here too - I really liked my previous groups so have sent a dm to join 😊

I'm definitely not as all over things as I was with pregnancy 1 and 2, but really nice to have a group of people who are going through it!!

I've sneezed more, but I'm not sure if it's hayfever. Do you normally have hayfever? I'm sure there must be pregnancy safe stuff out there.

Ah hay fever is such a pain and my nose is always worse in pregnancy. There are some safe options in pregnancy, I can't off the top of my head remember which are and aren't okay but it shouldn't be hard to check!

UrbanSquirrel · 20/06/2024 10:08

@ThatBlueMoose Were you able to get through to the EPU? x

MissLucyLiu · 20/06/2024 10:16

Hi Everyone I did a test this morning and it says 3+ !

I am a little bit worried as at the moment I've been feeling like my uterus is pinching / pulling and it comes and goes. Worried this might be ectopic pregnancy ! Does anyone else experience this ??

Lucy, it might just be things stretching and settling down. You say it comes and goes - do you find that if you change position or get up and walk around it lessens? I wouldn't worry unless it is a consistent strong pain. I had a fair few twinges and I think they were probably round ligament pain (or trapped wind!).

Keep an eye on it though and, if it feels weird, give your local hospital's EPU a call as they will be able to advise.

And congrats on the test!
