I have just tested positive today with a due date of 2 February. Have had a look and I can't see that anyone else has started a group for Feb yet. Is there anyone else out there who would like to join?

Uhhh is anyone finding they're crying for no reason or completely out the blue? Started over the last couple of days - started welling up leaving the gym yesterday, tearing up over my breakfast this morning but then will go back to normal. I know it's normal for emotions to run wild but at 5w5 ?!!

I started welling up over this cute little bunny rabbit that appeared in my garden today 😂5w4d here! 😂Still no nausea really, other than a gag this morning in pets at home over the dog biscuits

@LacedBouquet oh you're Glasgow too!! Thats great to know, I'll definitely check them out 😊

Yes! :) Have you thought about what hospital you want to pick? I have the choice between the Royal, Forth Valley and Wishaw but I think I'm going to go for the Royal

susie1984234 · 12/06/2024 14:52

Also joining! Got my BFP last week after treatment with Letrozole. Due around 14th Feb!
First baby and pregnancy for me so all new and I'll be 40 in September 😬🙈

superj21 · 12/06/2024 15:21

@LacedBouquet my nearest is RAH so that's the one they've put me down for at the moment but she said I could change whenever! I maybe did the booking stuff a bit early I've seen some people saying you're meant to wait til you're six weeks but I had no clue 🙈

Thecomfortador · 12/06/2024 16:24

Was in tears this morning reading about that little girl whose mum collapsed and she stayed with her all night and walked to school to get help in the morning. I'd never normally be quite so affected by a news story. So it's not just rage I'm feeling haha.

Hi I'm not pregnant but I had a baby in February this year and I keep feeling drawn to this thread when I see it pop up. It's a lovely time to be due, you get summer photos with your tiny bump, it cools down as you start to get bigger and don't want to be too hot, christmas is amazing(your family will be able to see the kicks from outside) and you get to celebrate easter with your little fresh baby after they're born. Congratulations to you all. x

Welcome new joiners and congratulations!!!

@Cheetocat awww that's such a lovely message thank you!!!

How's everyone doing?? Has anyone else got cramps/mild period like pains that come and go? I had some 2 days ago on the right, today on the left. Definitely doesn't feel like trapped wind. It's freaking me out a bit but I'm trying not to worry. Is it normal to feel something going on in there but all is actually okay?? Trying to relax.... trying... 😑

I'm also still battling a kidney infection, first week of antibiotics finished today, I had my third blood test yesterday and waiting for results to see if I'm actually getting better. I feel better than I did but I've had a (mild) temperature all week and I'm just knackered today. Got home from work and went to bed. Just started another 5 day course of a different one. Popping paracetamol every 4 hours almost which I can't think is ideal. Bit worrying with the positive pregnancy now so hope I get rid of it soon

Ah you must be more to the west side of Glasgow if they put you down. I think you can choose RI and QEU as well at your booking appt. I'm more to the east hence why Forth Valley becomes an option. Aww well I think they say just to phone once you get pregnant. I haven't made my booking appt yet, going to though on Friday as I will be 6 weeks on Saturday eek!
Also going to phone the EPU at Wishaw to get booked for a 8 week scan due to previous losses last year, which is super nerve wracking

@susie1984234 I'm always hugely relieved to find someone else who's going through all this at the first time at 39. I'm 40 in January and have been having a bit of the 'time's running out' subliminal messaging from family in recent years. But I'm trying to reassure myself with the fact that so many women are in our position nowadays. Fingers crossed!!! 🤞🏻

UrbanSquirrel · 12/06/2024 17:00

@CxCxTtc2024 Good God, you poor thing, that sounds horrible. Paracetamol is meant to be totally OK, at least (unlike aspirin and ibuprofen, which apparently carry some minor risks), so sounds like you're doing fine. Hope you feel MUCH better soon and that you have someone pampering you while you're feeling a bit rough? 🤗

superj21 · 12/06/2024 17:09

@LacedBouquet ahh right yeah I'm actually south (East Ren!). Waiting til 6 weeks does make sense, I won't tell my mum or anything til then I don't think as that seems like a first hurdle. I'm so sorry about your previous losses 😞 I'm feeling so anxious about that possibility given how long it took us to conceive x

Thank you. Yes I hope I will feel better soon too. My cats are snuggling me and DH has been lovely. We didn't believe the pg test as I was having antibiotics and taking my temp to see if I needed to go to a&e all of that then this vvvvvfl came up and we were like...... what........!!!!!
Just so tiring at work I've come home and gone straight to bed

Ive had cramps since 8dpo!! I was absolutely certain I was out the month because of them. They do come and go a bit but feel them most of the time. I'm hoping that as long as no bleeding it shouldn't be a problem. Everything I've read says it's normal but it doesn't feel like it is! Sorry to hear about your kidney infection too, that must be so rough at the same time 😫. Paracetamol is meant to be fine to take though

@UrbanSquirrel Congratulations to you! i was also feeling the biological clock ticking - tried for about a year naturally but I had really low AMH, a round of Letrozole seems to have really helped!
I think more and more people are doing it for the first time around 40 - I'm feeling good so far although worried my old bones will start to feel the effect quicker than if I'd done this 10 years ago!

I've been cramping as well ever since I got my BFP. Sometimes on one side, sometimes on the other, sometimes on lower back. It comes and goes but I have had it everyday.
Unless the pain gets really severe or is accompanied by bleeding I'm thinking it's normal.

Hey everyone, I just tested positive on Sunday and got quite a shock as wasn’t trying. Hoping to find some support here as my other half is being very quiet and just keeps saying it’ll be ok. Very emotional today and just hope baby is ok as I was drinking a lot on the lead up.. going through every emotion but I am very happy. hope you are all keeping well xx

Henski · 12/06/2024 17:54

Snap cramps since 10 dpo, they were painful, last couple of days have eased slightly!

Hello and welcome @SB97xx! Lovely to have you here with us 🤗 Totally understand the sense of bewilderment and I'm sure many others here will be the same. I asked my husband if he could offer any insights from a male point of view re. your other half and he said, 'Well, not really because I probably feel much the same.' (Thanks DH 😂.)

But most likely your other half is just taking a while to process it. I think it's a bit of a myth, the whole weeping with joy over the test result thing. When I told my husband he just looked like a panicked deer in headlights and went back to loading the dishwasher. So don't fret.

I can't speak for other men but, as far as my husband is concerned, we have definitely been trying (for over a year), and he definitely does want a child, but at the same time he's very conscious that our comfy grown up lives will change, and he's mourning the loss of some aspects of life at the same time as looking forward to the arrival of others. Perhaps your other half is grappling with the same thing?

UrbanSquirrel · 12/06/2024 18:08

Oh and @SB97xx - don't worry about the drinking. I had a series of extremely boozy work events plus our anniversary in the two weeks before I found out, so I can only assume that if Junior makes it through, he or she will be a born oenophile 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't think it does any harm at all, as long as we stop tippling when we find out x
