I have just tested positive today with a due date of 2 February. Have had a look and I can't see that anyone else has started a group for Feb yet. Is there anyone else out there who would like to join?

Hi,

I’m another who has been following the group and now tentatively joining. I got my BFP a week ago, due 14th February.

I’ve booked an early viability scan for when I’m 6+6 but pondering whether I should move it back a week but argh the waiting is so hard at this point

x

I'd initially booked my early scan for 6+6 but the clinic got in touch to advise me to push it back a few days as they said there was far more chance of being able to see a heartbeat even a few days later. So we've ended up going for 7+2 instead, which will hopefully give us a better chance of being reassured. Fingers crossed.

If you can bear to wait just that bit longer it seems that you'll have a better chance of seeing everything you want to see. Having said that, the clinic said that sometimes the heartbeat IS visible earlier, but they're just more confident in the 7th week.

Hi everyone 👋

Thought I'd join as I'm still in the 'is this really happening?' stage!

I'm 5 weeks, 1 day. I was an IVF patient and have 3 embryos frozen. My last IVF round failed and we decided to take 1 month off for my body to recover, before starting the next round.

And...somehow in that 1 month I've managed to get pregnant naturally! I've heard that couples get pregnant naturally after giving up on IVF, but I never thought it would happen to us!

@Mistful That's amazing! congratulations!!!

I'm also an IVF case .... having never been pregnant in all of my years ever... having IVF stim and 2 frozen embryos, managed to fall pregnant twice (first was a m/c in March), I was just waiting for my FET transfer round to start and BFP.

I had an endometrial scratch and a hycosy at the end of last year, and the stimulation round, all of which I am certain increased my fertility to allow this to happen. Now time will tell if I can maintain it or not .....

CxCxTtc2024 · 11/06/2024 19:10

@elb1504 yes absolutely, doesn't feel real, it's been less than a week I've known but the tests got darker so I thiiinnkkk im pregnant 🫣

@superj21 there's quite a bit of evidence that hycosy can increase fertility, if you think about it the dye squirted through can "unblock" sticky tubes. I think this is what happened to me as I had a hycosy in prep/planning/investigation for IVF back in October last year, and have been pg twice naturally since!

@LacedBouquet I think it's hycosy for the win here then! 3 of us!

@xBeckyJayne 😍😍 wow what lovely strong lines!!!! Congratulations!

@UrbanSquirrel there's a couple of good podcasts that you follow along with your pregnancy, I liked those (I need to wait until 8 weeks to pick them back up (hopefully) again)

@Hettycan oh my gosh you poor thing, you've been through all of that so recently 😢 I'm terrified too..... my first ever (and only) pg ended in surgery for MMC and I know this has just as much chance of the same result and I don't know if I'm ready for the sadness and the hurt again. Trying not to think about it and wait and see what happens in a few weeks. Fingers crossed for you your bean is sticky this time 💐

@dreaminofholidays I kind of want to book an early scan but I have no clue where to start. I'm in Glasgow and looks like there are a few companies that offer it but I'm not sure whether they are legit! Don't want to end up making my anxiety worse 🙈. My first midwife appt isn't until 19 July and then 5 August for my NHS scan which seems like forever..

Moyaingoya · 11/06/2024 19:53

Hello, please can I join? 4wks and a day today (I think!) I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in April so I’m not going to tell anyone at all this time until I’m into the second trimester. Got my booking appointment today for the 22nd July but would like to go to a private scan as soon as poss, am I right in thinking that scans prior to 10 weeks are done transvaginally (I think this is the term I read lol) rather than standard ultrasound??

xBeckyJayne · 11/06/2024 20:06

@CxCxTtc2024 I thought that too and it came up straight away. Thank you lovely 🥰 xx

CxCxTtc2024 · 11/06/2024 20:34

@Moyaingoya firstly congratulations!!!!! 🥳
And I'm so sorry for your loss :(
Yes, early scans are transvaginal. They aren't painful or really even uncomfortable, having IVF you get used to having a wand poked up there every couple of days.
I'd be wary about going for a scan before at least 6 weeks (probably even 6.5) as there isn't too much to see - just a yolk sac in the right place, and they call it a "PUV" or "pregnancy of unknown viability" until a heartbeat is seen (around 6 weeks)
In Feb I had a Pvt scan booked at what I thought was 6 weeks, they didn't detect a pregnancy so referred me to EPU, who saw a 5 week pregnancy (the day later) but wanted me to go back again the following week to check for HB, I had one at 6+2 weeks so they discharged me, and then I had a Pvt scan at 8+5 and the embryo hadn't developed beyond 6+2.

Unless I have bleeding, and im still testing +ve, I'm going to leave it until 8 weeks then have a scan to see what's going on in there and take it from there. I'm not going to give it any emotional thought until at least then. (She says... having hopped straight back on Mumsnet.....)

I’ve been reading everyone’s messages from today - sending so much love to all of you! Everyone’s journey is different and feel for all of you who have been through so much.

is anyone else a bit anxious to get the next steps rolling? I met with my GP yesterday who was lovely but useless and just said chose a hospital and submit a form - like it was a Deliveroo order… I can quite bring myself to do any online forms - not sure if it’s because it makes me anxious or I just have no idea what to do! Can’t decide if I want to go private or NHS which isn’t helping things either!

gothbaddie · 11/06/2024 20:55

Thought I'd update following my first post a few weeks ago! 5+4 today, had some spotting last week, however have blood tests have all but confirmed this was likely implantation bleeding. I have a scan with my local EPAU this Friday to see what's going on. Currently battling sickness and achey boobs!

Love and positivity to everyone on this journey Smile

Redapple21 · 11/06/2024 21:31

Hi ladies, 5+3 here, estimated due date 8th Feb.
This is my second pregnancy, DS will be 2 in September. The nausea has really kicked in for me today, feeling rotten, but no throwing up. So hard as I'm a teacher and have to put on a brave face all day when I just want a little lie down! I've also had cramping since AF was due but I do remember having cramping in my last pregnancy as everything is stretching so hopefully all is ok. I agree these first few weeks are nerve racking and we all just want to get to the 12 week milestone. Sending love to you all xx

Congratulations @Bb542 I recognise your name from the conception thread! 👋 🥰

dreaminofholidays · 11/06/2024 22:02

@superj21 do you have window to the womb or ultrasound direct near you? They are two of the clinics I’ve used that seem to have national branches.

@UrbanSquirrel Thank you for the advice about moving the scan back a week or so. I’ll give them a call to rearrange.

How long did it take for your midwife and 12 week scan appointments to come through?

I’m not sure whether we’ll find out the sex, first time we both wanted a surprise. This time we’re in two minds.

I forgot how tricky this first bit is, where the whole world changes for you but it’s also this little secret you don’t really want to share. It’s so nice to be able to share with you ladies

UrbanSquirrel · 11/06/2024 22:20

@dreaminofholidays About timings, if I remember correctly I registered with the hospital on Monday and then had the midwife appointment (at 8 weeks) through on Wednesday and the 12 week appointment date by Friday. I was very impressed at how quick it was! We're in the Kingston Hospital catchment area if that helps anyone.

My additional scans (7 and 10 weeks) plus the NIPT are booked in at our local Window to the Womb, so will report back but online reviews look really good.

UrbanSquirrel · 11/06/2024 22:22

@AWilliams92 Laughing so much at the idea of it all being like a Deliveroo order. Is that the modern version of the stork, do you think? 🤣

xBeckyJayne · 11/06/2024 22:34

@Redapple21 we have the same due date 🤗 xx

superj21 · 12/06/2024 06:02

@dreaminofholidays yes there's an ultrasound direct! Did you find them to be pretty good?

Redapple21 · 12/06/2024 06:34

@xBeckyJayne ahh lovely! 🥰

I remember with my first, my booking appointment wasn't until around 10 weeks and she booked my 12 week scan at that appointment! I guess every area is different. I remember panicking that I wasn't getting an appointment through, whilst other people on Mumsnet seemed to have theirs around the 8 week mark!

fsr111 · 12/06/2024 06:46

Hey guys and welcome to everyone who joined yesterday! Already so glad to have this thread.
Can I ask a question about progesterone? I've been given the option to take it. I took it last time I was pregnant as it was off the back of an IVF cycle and was standard practice. It made me feel absolutely dog-rough, I hated all the discharge and still resulted in a MMC. My GP has basically said as I've had it before I can have it again if I like. I'm so conflicted, obviously I don't want to not do anything that might help but also dread the next 11 weeks of feeling like I did with it last time. Does anyone have any input? Will the benefits outweigh the cons? I've done some Googling and it looks like it might increase my odds by 3% 🙃

Ultrasound direct, the one in the west end just beside Charing Cross are really good. I've been a few times for the women's health ultrasound to check my follicles etc. The sonographer I have had has always been lovely x

LacedBouquet · 12/06/2024 09:36

AH2023 · 11/06/2024 17:42

so will I! To even make it to a 12 week scan! I’m crossing all my fingers and toes.

My tests have gotten super dark way quicker than they did with my MMC. I got a 3+ on clearblue at 4w6d this time but didn’t get it last time until 6 weeks. Hoping that’s a good sign. I have an early scan at the EPU next Tuesday at 6+1 so hoping there is something there

That's great if your lines have been getting super dark way quicker! I feel the same with my lines but had to stop testing at 4w1d to calm my anxieties. I only got 1-2 on the week indicator around 13dpo but when I opened it, the lines looked as if they'd almost met that 2-3 week threshold so that was enough for me to be like OK let's just ditch the tests for now lol!

That's so exciting that you had hycosy success too! It's expensive (I think I was like £550) but so worth it for anyone with unexplained infertility or even if you have endo!

Pcosdegallo · 12/06/2024 09:44

Uhhh is anyone finding they're crying for no reason or completely out the blue? Started over the last couple of days - started welling up leaving the gym yesterday, tearing up over my breakfast this morning but then will go back to normal. I know it's normal for emotions to run wild but at 5w5 ?!!

Oh yes. I'm now 6+5 and I almost burst into tears at Browns during a family meal on Monday. You are not alone! 😉

Pcosdegallo · 12/06/2024 10:57

@UrbanSquirrel hah! Glad to know I'm not alone.

Was starting to worry I wasn't having any symptoms other than sore boobs.. wasn't expecting tears lol

Yes! I can't stop. Every time I look at my toddler I start to tear up thinking I can't believe he won't have mummy all to himself. Gosh it's crazy to have all these thoughts so early on! Must be hormones xx
