@Morningcoffeeaddict Yay, we have birthday twins!

Sorry to keep you all waiting on an update, I've been trying to keep up with everyone while learning the ropes of being a new mum. Baby Elliott was born at 16:36 on the 18th weighing 11lbs exactly! Very glad I had an elective c section as his head is bigger than 10cms and he would have got stuck and I'd have needed an emergency anyway. I used some of the hypnobirthing techniques I'd learnt, especially while when I needed to keep still while they were sticking needles in my spine and I needed to keep still!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 20/07/2024 18:36

@SapphireSeptember - congratulations! These things sometimes happen for a reason and certainly sounds that way in your case! A very big baby indeed! Enjoy the newborn bubble!!

SapphireSeptember · 20/07/2024 20:23

@Morningcoffeeaddict Thank you! Yes, it was a really chilled and surreal experience. I'm glad I did it that way and not the other. I wouldn't have been allowed the birthing pool either way. But having a calm controlled c section was much better than an emergency one after an induced labour which would have stressed out me and baby.
I feel really sorry for the lady in the same bay as me, her baby was half a pound less than mine and she had him naturally. He caused a lot of damage and she had to have a blood transfusion. 🥺

Excuse me. I am not working for them. I am a genuine customer. So it eas you who reported my posts. Very classy.move there.
I genuinely loved the course it was the cheapest I found and wanted to share it as it helped me so much in my last pregnancy and this one.
You're being inexcusaibly nasty! What a miserable person you are.

Cherubs4 · 20/07/2024 20:57

@MixedCouple2 I wouldn't give that poster the time of day.

@SapphireSeptember congratulations! And another 11lb-er, amazing!

I know I know. It is just so nasty of them. Don't they have better things to do.

I am surprised there is no block function on this website so I don't see or receive paosts from them or they can't view my posts.
Nevermind.

quickoffthemark · 20/07/2024 21:19

all because i think that starting a thread about a company and promoting a sale on… has a whiff of stealth marketing about it (although another poster posted pointed out it wasn’t exactly “stealth”)? ok.

Well mumsnet seemed to think it was inappropriate hence it being pulled

so if you have an issue with your thread being pulled… take it with with HQ 🤷

SapphireSeptember · 21/07/2024 06:44

Thank you @Cherubs4 ! We've had some big babies!

Little one has been a bit poorly, but he seems to have got over the worst, and is feeding better because he's been fighting so hard against my boobs and even the bottle, at least he's taking something in now. His first feed he was on my boob for 45 minutes, now he gets really stressed if I try to put him anywhere near my boobs. I did express some milk last night and he gulped it down!

MixedCouple2 · 21/07/2024 08:27

@SapphireSeptember thats great you've been able to express and get him fed.

I can't believe the journey is over, pregnancy, and babyhood has started for most of you all.

Who is left still waiting?
I have had comtractions on and off at night and early morning hut they have gone now.

Busyhedgehog · 21/07/2024 09:14

It's day 4 and I'm still waiting. Induction isn't working. They tried the gel for two days and now I'm on the second day of tablets that do fuck all. 🤦‍♀️
DS was induced last time and it took 28 hours from start to finish. My hospital here seems way more cautious with their approach. I'm close to asking for a c section. No contractions to speak off so far. Mucus plug came out this morning and I'm about 2cm dilated but nothing is happening.

SapphireSeptember · 21/07/2024 09:25

@MixedCouple2 Thank you! 😊 I know! It's so surreal. I'm a mummy now! Makes the pain of losing my first pregnancy worth it.

@Busyhedgehog I'd go for it, although just because mine was easy doesn't mean yours will be. There are risks, as with anything. Good luck whatever you decide! 💐

Cattattack · 21/07/2024 09:44

I’m 40+6 now and still hanging on in there! Trying to fill my days with lovely things to do and not overthink. I keep telling myself they wilI arrive when they are ready! 😅

Nocoffeenotalkie · 21/07/2024 11:15

@SapphireSeptember congratulations! Has baby gone straight into 0-3 month clothing?
We have lots of newborn grows that don't fit my 8lb 15oz girl we're already in upto 1 month (10lb max) and they fit perfectly. Can't see them fitting her at 10lb tbh.
My elective section was a dream compared to my first labour which ended in EMCS under a general! I would recommend it tbh. Surgeon told us that it was a great choice too because she was already in distress as there was meconium despite my not being in labour!

CMG92 · 21/07/2024 12:01

congrats to all of you whose babies have come already 🥰 I’m 40+2 and I’m really struggling in the heat the last few days 🥵 I had a sweep last week and I was 2cm, since then iv lost some mucus plug but nothing else happening 😩 I’m getting impatient as I’m so uncomfortable especially at night time with sciatica! Hopefully they make an arrival soon and for all the other mums to be still waiting 🥰

missmoosh · 21/07/2024 13:33

Bella was born this morning after induction started yesterday! She is 6 pounds 7 and all newborn clothes are too big on her!
labour progressed very quickly once it actually got going, and didn’t have time for the epidural! She is so perfect, can’t believe I’m a mummy now!

Honeymint · 21/07/2024 13:37

@SapphireSeptember Congratulations and I hope you’re both doing well - it sounds like you made the right choice!

@CMG92 @Cattattack @Busyhedgehog Hang in there! The last few days of waiting are so difficult but at least you know you’ll meet your babies soon 🥰

Our son shot out this morning at 4:25am. The blind fell off of our bedroom window at 1:45 and scared the cr*p out of me, then I had my first contraction a minute later. We only made it into the delivery room with a minute to spare! (I know I wanted a faster labour than last time but this was a bit much!) I’d had start stop contractions for a week and had spent the whole of yesterday on an exercise ball.

Good luck to everyone still waiting! Not long now 🤞

Jess725 · 21/07/2024 16:35

Wow congrats to the new mammas!

I went in for pessary induction at 41+3 on Weds and unfortunately it didn’t work. (They actually say it’s just to thin out your cervix) but it put me into hyper sensitive labour meaning they had to give me something to stop it
Ultimately ended with full induction and emergency section.

Just got home today and so grateful to have baby girl home💕

good luck with the sweeps and can’t wait for all the July babies to be born 🫶

SapphireSeptember · 22/07/2024 03:33

@Nocoffeenotalkie Indeed he has! He's so big! And he's long. No idea how he fitted in my tummy. Glad your elective worked out too! ❤️

Thank you @Honeymint Indeed! My hypnobirthing teacher was pleased I followed my instincts and didn't let them talk me into things I didn't want.

I'm actually not going to be going home till Wednesday at the earliest, little boy has an infection and isn't doing very well at the moment. 😭 I'm getting fed up! They want me to feed him every three hours on 75ml of milk, which is an insane amount.

ceruleansky · 22/07/2024 08:08

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Congratulations on your baby boy!! Happy to hear you're recovering well! 🩵

@Savvy21
Congratulations on your delivery! Glad to hear things went well!

@SapphireSeptember
Congratulations!! Hope you're doing well! I hope baby recovers from the infection soon.

@Jess725
Congratulations on your baby girl!! 🩷

I'm going to reply to the other posts as soon as I get a chance!!
I'm happy to see all of you are doing well... or surviving!! Either way, we got this!
Good luck to those in waiting. Hoping to hear of more babies!

wannabe123 · 22/07/2024 09:36

@SapphireSeptember hope little one is doing better soon ❤️ 75ml does seem a lot for such a little tummy. Has that come from a doctor? Is there a feeding specialist you could speak to maybe? Even just to understand their reasoning. Hope you're doing alright stuck in hospital.

wannabe123 · 22/07/2024 09:36

Congratulations to all the new babies! I can't keep up with who has and hasn't had their little ones yet 😂

Outliers · 22/07/2024 10:32

Officially 40weeks as of today.

Thursday I went for a sweep and midwife couldn't even reach cervix. Since then I've drank tonnes of raspberry leaf, done a 90-120min walks every day, had sex twice for obvs reasons, been sitting on birthing ball consistently and I've also done the exercise that Missmoosh suggested several times.

Something must be working cause I'm now getting contraction like pains every 30-40mins since 6am! 😳

Could be intense braxton hicks, we'll see. I do have another sweep arranged for Thurs.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 22/07/2024 12:00

@SapphireSeptember oh, no. Are you pumping? That must take a while! I hope he feels better soon.
My DD has jaundice.Midwife is keeping an eye on her levels. Luckily, she is gaining weight still!

wannabe123 · 22/07/2024 12:09

@Nocoffeenotalkie DS has had a bit of jaundice too but mostly cleared up now. My first had it too
