Lots of Braxton Hicks and period-type cramping here, too. 35 weeks (and a bit) now. I hope I'm not allowed to go overdue so much again this time. It's not that common here, though, so I'm hoping for the best.
DH has just been admitted to hospital because of a blood clot...he did this last time I was 41 weeks and had to go to hospital because of kidney stones. 🤦‍♀️ Great timing. He should be home again tomorrow, though. 😁

Jess725 · 18/06/2024 16:42

@Bluebonnet3 thinking of you!

@MixedCouple2 Oh goodness!! That is early!! I actually keep getting up too at 6ish needing cereal 😆
I know I do not have confirmation from my midwife on what my cramps are (still happening btw!) it is so so exciting that it could be this for me too! eek!
Hope you are feeling okay today and cramps are not too sore (mine ramped up a bit earlier!)

Jess725 · 18/06/2024 16:43

@Busyhedgehog Oh no, I hope he is okay and everything's not too stressful!
xxx

Baby girl arrived this morning at 9:30am by ELCS! 💕

So far we are doing ok and no apparent complications. Hoping we can go home tomorrow, but we'll just have to wait and see. It's going to be my first night away from DS1. DH will go home to be with him, and I have a good friend coming to stay with me and the new baby overnight.

Savvy21 · 18/06/2024 18:28

Congratulations @Bluebonnet3 - glad to hear that you and baby girl are doing well!

AnonymousXXIX · 18/06/2024 19:10

Congratulations @Bluebonnet3 !!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 18/06/2024 19:34

Congratulations @Bluebonnet3 - glad you’re both doing well!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 18/06/2024 19:35

@Cherubs4 - not quite a Reno just yet but we’re moving house on Friday to what will be a reno project - an entirely sensible life choice at 35weeks pregnant!

Jess725 · 18/06/2024 19:37

@Bluebonnet3 oh wonderful 💕
congrats to you all. Glad you’re doing good

Nocoffeenotalkie · 18/06/2024 19:44

Congratulations @Bluebonnet3!

missmoosh · 18/06/2024 19:51

@Bluebonnet3 congratulations!!!! Enjoy all those newborn snuggles!

Amberellaella · 18/06/2024 20:05

Congratulations @Bluebonnet3! Fingers crossed you get to home tomorrow and your DS gets to meet his new baby sister ☺️

Amberellaella · 18/06/2024 20:07

I went in for a Doppler and LV scan today since my growth scan last week showed slowed growth. All was fine, so baby is allowed to stay put for another week at least (unless he has other plans and makes a break for the exit in the meantime 😂). Next growth scan on Tuesday so we’ll see if next week is the week!

wannabe123 · 18/06/2024 20:21

@Bluebonnet3 congratulations!

AnonymousXXIX · 18/06/2024 20:41

@Cherubs4 on the reno front... we have still yet to do the painting. I don't think I'll have any chance till I start my mat leave at 38 weeks, DH has made absolutely no move on it. He started mowing the lawn 3 weekends ago, left it half finished, and went back to focussing on work. Honestly... I mean I don't want him to use his annual leave right now, because we're saving it for baby, but I am half tempted to book a meeting in his calendar and hand him the paintbrush 😂

ceruleansky · 19/06/2024 02:32

@Bluebonnet3
Congratulations!! 💓💓

Anyone else just fed up now?
The past 2 or 3 evenings I've had a couple of hours of on/off contractions. Most of them are painless so probably just Braxton Hicks and then I'll get 2 or 3 that are accompanied with period pains and discomfort. It's making me anxious as to whether I'll know early enough that I'm in actual labour to get childcare sorted and get to the hospital. With my first, even though I had a planned c-section booked in, I went into spontaneous labour and didn't realise it was labour for quite a while. Eventually, I went to hospital and was 4cm already and an hour or so later when the C-section started I was 6-7cm so I could have quite a quick labour this time!

AnonymousXXIX · 19/06/2024 12:53

I'll take your cramps @wannabe123 ! Absolutely nothing going on over here. Zero signs. Nothing with my first pregnancy either literally until labour started (two days after my due date). Which then proceeded to take 3 days. So I would love my body to get itself a bit more ready, to hopefully have a faster labour this time! At the stage now where I can't turn over in bed, or get to sleep because of all the kicking, so I am ready to goooo. Come on baby, get on board!

Amberellaella · 19/06/2024 14:05

Ha ha! I can’t decide if I want baby to come now, or if I’d prefer another couple of weeks to myself now that I am on Mat leave…

I am now 90% ready at home however, so at least the poor lad will have some means of getting home safely, somewhere to sleep and some clothes to wear now!

I just set up the Snuzpod and am contemplating getting a new mattress. The old one is fine, so it’s more as a precaution. What are you other second timers doing about mattresses for these new ones?

Sophie3003 · 19/06/2024 14:07

@Amberellaella I have bought a new mattress for mine, I ummed and arghed as same family but some advice was still to update and didn't think it was worth taking a risk for not much money.

AnonymousXXIX · 19/06/2024 14:29

@Amberellaella I haven't gotten new mattresses for the moses basket or the next to me. They'll be used 3rd time now, as we got them second hand last time around. I inspected them very carefully and they look totally fine to me, no wear and tear, no dents, no stains... so I couldn't really justify getting rid of them. I know it goes against advice and I am a little nervous about it, but I do remind myself it is very first-world western advice.

Savvy21 · 19/06/2024 16:34

@Amberellaella new mattress here also - 2nd baby journey wasn't smooth so thought it best. Also mattress cover looked awful as it had been in the loft for 3 years.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 19/06/2024 18:25

@Amberellaella - for the snuzpod I am getting a new mattress (and for the cot when we get to that stage). But for the pram bassinet and the Moses basket, both of which were barely used and have been kept wrapped, vacuum packed and clean so I’ll inspect them when they come out of the packaging and make a decision then.

missmoosh · 19/06/2024 18:33

I have just ordered a new mattress for snuzpod, SIL gave us there one as their baby didn’t like it. We weren’t going to replace as they only used it once. But wherever they have stored it has caused the mattress on one side to go a bit orange. Not worth the risk!

wannabe123 · 19/06/2024 18:38

I have bought a new next to me mattress as that will be used for overnight sleep. I've not replaced the moses basket or carrycot mattress though.
