@Oatmilktea congrats on the arrival of baby boy! So glad it went eeally well. Do many Mamas are the same just before going in for their section. Take it easy as adrenaline will surpress some pain. In a day or 2 it will kick in so try not to overdo it.

Who else had a June baby? I missed so much!

@Bluebonnet3 I am joining you may 2.5year old is really acting up. The toilet regression plus refusing to nap! I loved my 2 hour me time. I got to sit and watch something and get a few jobs done.
My DH is the same. He works sometimes 8pm - 3am!!!!! And has caused a few arguments as he has 0 energy to get up with DS, obviously. And he isn't really present. And his work don't care even though they know baby is on the way. I am trying to get him to change Jobs as it has gotten worse over the last 2 years.

@User491 I am also 35 weeks on Monday!!!
Dont blame you with twins it peobably will be uncomfy by the end. But getting to 37 weeks is amazing still.

@Morningcoffeeaddict is your Dr following up to date guidance. The reccomended dosage is one/two tablets every OTHER day. As absorption is hindered if taken every day and counter productive.
I started to do that, my BIL who is an OBGYN said that's the correct method now and to only take max 3 a day.
I hated the liquid last time. Tasted so rank! 🤮🤢
I had a blood test on Thurs so will see what they say next week.

Jess725 · 15/06/2024 16:05

@Oatmilktea wow happy birthday to your addition ❤️
thank you for sharing that your section was quick and easy!!! Well done!! I’m so excited for you. I wish you an easy recovery x

I’ve been having period like cramps since last night. Sometimes quite uncomfortable. Not in waves so would describe then as ‘constant’ tbh. No other signs of labour so just putting feet up (which I DO NOT know how to do 😂)
slightly anxious but just sat here with the triage number ready and speed dial to husband as he’s away with work 😬 I’m only 36.5 wks so hopefully it’s just baby’s head gearing up 🤞

Morningcoffeeaddict · 15/06/2024 16:40

@MixedCouple2 - yes every other day is what I’m doing, and I’ve been taking with orange juice as I heard that helps it absorb. I’ve not actually tried the liquid stuff yet as only saw the midwife who suggested it on Thursday and then found out we’re moving house next week so everything has been a bit chaotic!

Getting another blood test next week to see if there’s been any change I think so hopefully if there’s still no movement by then they’ll take some sort of action. I’m so tired of being exhausted - not that moving house will help, but I literally popped to the shops for 20mins this morning and was wiped out!

missmoosh · 15/06/2024 17:33

@Morningcoffeeaddict are you taking any other pregnancy supplements? Just I know when I was on the iron tablets, I had to be careful when I took them with my other medication (specifically my calcium) as they prevent each other absorbing. So may be worth staggering times so you have a good few hours between anything else you may be taking?

Morningcoffeeaddict · 15/06/2024 17:39

@missmoosh - I am on a bunch of things to be honest. My thyroid meds come first (empty stomach, half hour before anything else and no dairy/soy within 4 hours of taking it), then first of my BP meds with breakfast, then later in the day I take BP again, magnesium, aspirin and multivit with dinner, give it a bit and then take the iron with OJ before bed every other day. Massive faff! I’m not taking any calcium (feels like the only thing I’m not taking lol)

missmoosh · 15/06/2024 17:48

@Morningcoffeeaddict hahah you sound like me with the amount of meds! I swear I rattle! My regime starts at 4.30am to be able to fit them all in with enough time between them!!
maybe just double check none of the bits you are taking can impact absorption, if not then hopefully you can figure out getting it up without infusions!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 15/06/2024 17:52

@missmoosh thanks! The kitchen side is madness with them all lined up - can’t wait to drop some of them postpartum (hopefully!!). It’s not as bad as when I was recovering from pre-e, two different sets of BP meds- one twice a day and the other four times a day - I rattled from the BP meds alone!

wannabe123 · 15/06/2024 18:37

@Jess725 I think I'm having similar and 36w5 too. I've been so grumpy and miserable today. I'd like to get past 37 weeks just so that baby isn't classed as pre term. I know he's big enough to be born - my scan this week estimated him to be over 7lbs already. I've just relaxed today but with tomorrow being father's day I'm going to have to step up a bit with childcare.

Jess725 · 15/06/2024 19:15

@wannabe123 oh no, I’m sure everyone will
understand if you say you need to take it slower? I hope you can relax again some
more ❤️

Have you experienced it starting like this before?
over the past half hour the cramps have ramped up I’m just like, please stay until at least 37 too!!
glad your boy is big enough now, as far as I know we were 5.9lbs last Friday so hopefully 6 ish or over by now 🤞(estimated by measuring of course so not really accurate right?!)
wish I just knew what was happening 😂❤️

wannabe123 · 15/06/2024 19:24

@Jess725 last time I don't remember being uncomfortable apart from just the contractions starting. This feels different so hoping that I've got a few more days at least! The next few weeks have so much going on including transition events for my son starting at the school nursery in September 🤦🏼‍♀️
Hope your little one sits tight for a few more days 🤞

Jess725 · 15/06/2024 19:33

@wannabe123 oh you’ve got a lot going on!
you can do it, you already are ☺️❤️
hopefully we both have a bit more time. low key going to continue to freak out here 😂

MixedCouple2 · 15/06/2024 19:59

@Jess725 if it helps my cramps came and went for 10days before DS was born @ 39w 5d. It was always late at night and then early morning and stopped. On and off.
Even my MP and BS happened 5 days before. And slowly the contractions got longer each day.
On the day I knew it was go time as the period cramps kept getting worse and I could no longer talk and had to stop and brace myself and it got closer and more intense gradually 16hours later DS was born.

Also some people report eating, drinking even having a relaxing bath stops these predomal contractions.

This little.one jas been so active this afternoon and evening feels like he is having a boxing match with my bladder, thump, thump, thump!
We had an awful day with DS1. He has been Tantrumming and wanting cuddles and to be picked up. I know it is the impeding change. I have done my beat to talk openly and include him and do all the things to help him adjust.

Bali200 · 15/06/2024 20:01

Congratulations @Oatmilktea on your little boy’s arrival 💙 glad to hear you are both doing well. I bet you’ll be glad to get back home after you’ve been in hospital for so long.

@Jess725 oooh I’m also feeling freaked today too, maybe it’s normal for things to start ramping up at 36+5! My lower back has been aching all day from the moment I woke up today and I wouldn’t say I have cramps but I’m definitely feeling more achey pressure, yesterday I was so emotional too, it’s panicked me enough that I’ve ordered everything else I need for the baba today 😂 let’s hope they both stay put for a while longer 🙏🏼 do you know if baby is engaged yet? She was 3/5 engaged on Thursday at my MW appt.

Jess725 · 15/06/2024 22:17

@MixedCouple2 ahh, thank you for the info ☺️ that does help. I’m on my own as hubby away so I’m doing my best to keep calm and go with the flow. Keep giggling at myself for sounding like such a first timer 😀

@Bali200 oh yes my lower back too 😓
I know it’s all normal and good news stuff but it’s still unnerving isn’t it.
well done for buying the rest of the bits!! I might sneak in an Amazon order before I go to sleep 😂
Maybe something in the air for the three of us at 36+5 😀
I’m not sure how engaged actually, my midwife doesn’t tell me. I’m intrigued now! MW just said head is super low.

Cherubs4 · 15/06/2024 22:57

Congratulations @Oatmilktea
Exciting all these babies coming!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 15/06/2024 23:00

Congratulations @Oatmilktea!

Bluebonnet3 · 17/06/2024 15:36

My daily baby heart rate monitoring at maternity triage has gone well so far, since Friday morning. Having a hard time sitting still now that I'm home. Trying to do some last minute tidying, but there's only so much I can really do at this point. Excited and anxious that tomorrow morning is c-section day!

wannabe123 · 17/06/2024 18:23

Good lucky for tomorrow @Bluebonnet3 hope all goes well!

Amberellaella · 17/06/2024 18:45

Good luck tomorrow @Bluebonnet3!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 17/06/2024 20:02

Good luck tomorrow @Bluebonnet3 !!

Lisao86 · 17/06/2024 20:21

Good luck @Bluebonnet3! How exciting that you are so close to meeting your little one!

Two weeks today for me…

MixedCouple2 · 18/06/2024 04:44

@Bluebonnet3 hope everything went well!!!

@Jess725 I am the same. I started to feel period like cramps last few days. Very mild but there. And I told by my midwife I will probably be 1-2cm already dilated as babies head was low down putting pressure on the cervix. So probably that is causing these mild cramps. It is strange as I had nothing until 38weeka with DS1. I just turned 35w today.

I also woke up at 3am starving so it had an early breakfast 😂 not had this my entire pregnancy. 2 pieces of toast and some BabyBel cheese 😂
Anyone else having the hunger pangs?

ceruleansky · 18/06/2024 05:01

@Bluebonnet3
Good luck for your section! Waiting to hear the good news!!

I had my routine ECG and echo. Everything looks good! I've never had one before so, that was new! Baby is doing well.
This week round ligament pain has started to get worse. I find it increases when I sit for a while and stand up. Or when I wake up after a nap. But I've gotten used to the pain, kinda. As others have mentioned, I've noticed period cramps after almost 10 weeks.
I hope everyone is doing well and not struggling too much. 💓

wannabe123 · 18/06/2024 06:48

@MixedCouple2 I woke up really hungry in the night too but managed to fall back to sleep without eating anything. My heartburn/acid reflux was really bad yesterday so I didn't want to eat anything that might set it off again.
I had loads of Braxton Hicks yesterday too. My whole stomach would just go solid but there wasn't any pain. Woke up in the night and had a few that were accompanied by some period pain. Whether it's the sign of things starting I don't know. Apparently, it's quite common in second pregnancy for contractions to come and go and then actual labour is quite quick. I hope it's not too quick because from realising I need to go to hospital to actually getting there is going to be at least an hour and a half I reckon by the time childcare arrives and/or my husband can get back from work.

Cherubs4 · 18/06/2024 12:42

@Bluebonnet3 Thinking of you, hope all is going well!

@MixedCouple2 I get occasional hunger pangs - had it really badly around 18 - 24 weeks which is apparently really common(!) - mainly through the night, wake up famished and have to eat. Food tastes especially good.

I'm envious if those experiencing spontaneous cramps - I've had some through the night (38 weeks on Thursday) but in my last pregnancy I had nothing and ended up being induced at 42 weeks as had no dilation. I'd love to have them on my my own. Babies head is down but not engaged. Looked up some exercises of how to encourage the baby to engage and got some good moves to try out.

A few weeks ago some of us discussed our renovation projects, how is everyone getting on with those?
