Thanks for creating the new thread @Oatmilktea!

Agree with you that I don’t think it’s that bad heatwise. People aren’t saying it with “because you’re so big” to me, I would say luckily but instead I’m getting a lot of the “you’re so small for how long you have left” comments which are also annoying! People definitely should just leave pregnant women alone!

Oatmilktea · 20/05/2024 20:09

@Morningcoffeeaddict totally agree! I’d never dream of commenting on anyone’s body. A few sales assistants have said to me that I’m tiny for my gestation and I feel like they’re saying it as a compliment to try and get me to buy things. Crazy!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 20/05/2024 20:12

@Oatmilktea I’m sure we can’t win, with DS everyone was telling me I’m huge and this time I’m getting comments for being small. Both times the midwives have said I’m measuring bang on where I should be so people clearly don’t know. I think they just feel like they need to acknowledge you being pregnant but why commenting on size or “you must be hot/tired/uncomfortable” etc are the ways they choose to do it I don’t know.

wannabe123 · 20/05/2024 20:30

@Oatmilktea thanks for setting up the new thread. I wonder how many babies will be born on this thread!!

I get all sorts of comments on bump size including people who try to tell me which way they think baby is facing 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

chilliflakesmum · 20/05/2024 20:38

Thanks for the new thread @Oatmilktea 😀

My bump was measuring two weeks ahead at my last midwife appt, and I have another appt with her coming up on Wednesday and fully expecting her to say I'm measuring ahead again and send me for yet another scan. Scans have all shown baby is 50th centile, so I know its fine. I'm short 😄 i'm going to measure big.

Still not sleeping over here, which is affecting the gestational diabetes 🤦🏻‍♀️

missmoosh · 20/05/2024 21:13

Thanks for making the new thread!

Oatmilktea · 20/05/2024 21:32

@chilliflakesmum so frustrating that the measurements can be so inaccurate! If they say you’re measuring ahead again will you be sent for more scans?

Sorry to hear you’re not sleeping well 😭 we got a new super king sized bed (new house, new bed and all that!) and I also treated myself to a bbhugme pregnancy pillow so I’m much more comfortable than before and able to get decent sleep now and again!

OP posts:
Morningcoffeeaddict · 20/05/2024 22:04

@chilliflakesmum - sorry you’re not sleeping well. In the absence of a superking, I can recommend kicking your husband out of the bed. DH has been sleeping in the spare room as he’s not been well and I’ve had the best sleep with just me and my pregnancy pillow. He returned last night and I don’t know how to tell him to get out again 😂

@wannabe123 - Oo you’re right, there’s a good chance we will get some more babies born on this thread. I wonder how many as well!

Samszie · 20/05/2024 23:02

Thanks for the new thread @Oatmilktea!

So far nobody has commented on my size, and hopefully no one will. It's personally a touchy subject, and I tend to be abrasive when replying even without it being pregnancy related.

My bump has been measuring right on the dot but I hope our hospital will do some growth scans, I would love to see how baby is doing in terms of measurements. I'm 32w tomorrow and it feels like such a long time since 20weeks!

Samszie · 20/05/2024 23:55

Thanks for creating a new thread @Oatmilktea!

My bump has been measuring right on the dot but I hope our hospital does a growth scan soon. I'm 32w tomorrow and it feels like such a long time since 20weeks - I'm curious to see how baby is doing in terms of measurements. I also haven't had anyone comment on my size, and I hope no one does. It's personally a touchy subject and I have no desire to be dumped with other people's opinions.

chilliflakesmum · 21/05/2024 00:55

Yes @Oatmilktea Midwife will send me for another scan if i'm measuring ahead again. I've been told i can decline it. I have a growth scan coming up on the 3rd anyway when i'll be 35 weeks and I had one last week.

@Morningcoffeeaddict @Oatmilktea funnily enough, we've just bought a superking 😄 My partner has moved into the spare room a few weeks ago now - we did this when I was pregnant with our first as I had insomnia then too. It was just easier. My bbhugme is with me too 😄

boonpop98 · 21/05/2024 01:56

Hi all,
Recently been diagnosed with GD, any one else on the same boat?
First time mom so really do not know what to expect

HereAtlonglast · 21/05/2024 04:33

4am and wide awake again. Also have the Bbhugme pillow (which I would’ve bought years ago even prior to pregnancy if I’d known how comfy it is!) and partner is in another room but still wide awake! At least I have you lovely lot to keep me company! 😁I think the insomnia may be my least favourite thing about pregnancy.

We’re waiting until we meet her to name her.

Cattattack · 21/05/2024 08:47

Thank you for creating the new thread! We had a growth scan last week after initially measuring in 95th percentile then dropping right down to 50th percentile - but it was measured by 2 different midwives! Growth scan showed happy healthy (4lb already!) baby - fundal height is such a weird way to measure; it’s like measuring the garage not the car!

hopingfor23 · 21/05/2024 09:35

boonpop98 · 21/05/2024 01:56

Yea I was diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks. It's not easy to get your head round and has made this pregnancy really tricky. How are you doing? Are you diet controlled? X

Oatmilktea · 21/05/2024 10:00

@chilliflakesmum partner in the spare room
and bbhugme sounds ideal for now! @HereAtlonglast my sister has one and still uses it now (her son is 2!). I wish I’d listened to her sooner, I only bought it when I was 29 weeks! I’m being admitted to hospital on Monday for the duration of my pregnancy and it will 100% be coming with me!

@Cattattack i agree, surely even the midwives know it can be wildly inaccurate! Glad baby is showing a lovely 4lbs! How many weeks are you?

OP posts:
Cattattack · 21/05/2024 11:04

@Oatmilktea - 32 weeks as of yesterday, but I was 31.5 weeks when I had my growth scan. I do know there is some inaccuracy with weight estimates on growth scans too so I’m hoping it’s not going to come out an absolute chonker 😅

glasshalffull0 · 21/05/2024 11:09

My partner is sleeping in the other room too! Our bed is really creaky and until our new one arrives it was for the best that he relocated since I toss and turn every 5 minutes and get up to go the the toilet at least twice a week now!

Had my 34 week midwife appointment today and our stubborn baby is still breech!

AnonymousXXIX · 21/05/2024 13:58

Posting to bookmark the new thread: )

Insomnia + heartburn here. Not sure how to survive 2 more months of that! And the added weight is now making my ankles swell and back hurt (never happened last time).

Looking forward to 32 week scan so find out size and position. Haven't had any measurements at all so far so no idea!

Amberellaella · 21/05/2024 14:48

@AnonymousXXIX swollen feet here - if it’s not flip flops it’s not happening 😂

I’ve decided to go off work a week earlier than planned to get some proper rest in (while DD at nursery…). Only three more weeks left after this one!!

MrsHousePlant · 21/05/2024 15:49

Haven’t posted in a while but have been following along so thought I’d jump in to the new thread! 33 weeks and getting tired 😂 baby boy is wriggling all the time which I’m loving. Can’t believe we’re all so close now!

ExpectantEs · 21/05/2024 15:52

Thanks for the new thread!

This thread could potentially have more of our babies born in!

Another insomnia sufferer here. I thought it was heartburn related last week, but I've sorted that out. My body just wakes itself up. Sunday night I was awake from 2am to 6am-ish just staring into the darkness. Alarm goes off at 8. Monday was a pretty horrific workday.

6 weeks 4 days until Due date

Sophie3003 · 21/05/2024 16:29

My bump was over 90th centile but baby is 33rd and as long as I plot on the same curve so just over 90th centile I won't be sent for any further scans as it will follow the right growth. I do have a scan at 32 as I have my birth plan appointment with the consultant then.

Sophie3003 · 21/05/2024 16:33

@Cattattack that's what my midwife said- I had a big garage and a small car 🤣

Sophie3003 · 21/05/2024 16:35

Hearing all the stories of insomnia make me have massive flashbacks from my last pregnancy- I barely slept in 9 months and I can remember the relief when my daughter was born to be able to sleep again. I thought I was going to go mad and it made me feel so bad.
