My EPU was very reluctant to deal with me, saying that bleeding is very common in pregnancy and I should only call back if I bled through a whole pad completely in an hour or the bleeding last longer than a week. I didn't do that and finger crossed bleeding is stopped, but still it was a lot of blood ( about half pad in an hour - sorry for too much info). Luckily the gynaecologist at A&E has managed to book me in for a scan in Wednesday.

I have pretty bad experience of private health care. We had to do our ivf with a private clinic and it seemed that the management are more interested in the billings than the actual care and our last viability scan was only to print the pictures and check viability, but they didn't take measurements of heart rate or fetal length for example. So, I wouldn't pay mone for a similar experience.

bootsroots · 10/06/2024 14:46

That's great that you've got one for Wednesday though annoying your EPU weren't very helpful @BeLemonQuoter

Really good sign that it's stopped now and hopefully nothing serious, but I'm sure Wednesday feels like a lifetime away. Fingers crossed for you x

LS888 · 10/06/2024 16:44

@BeLemonQuoter my midwife unit was the same. Said they would ring EPU and then never got back to me. Said on the initial call that it was common. And I get that. But after a previous mmc I thought they would have been more sympathetic especially as with the mmc I had minimal bleeding too- but enough to concern me. If I hadn’t of gone in I would have found out at my 12 week scan.

Hope your scan goes well on Wednesday. I have a private one tomorrow morning. My bleeding has stopped today, just some brown discharge. Hoping it’s all a good sign.

Hi all

Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm almost 10 weeks behind. I had a miscarriage in January when I was 9 weeks, it was heartbreaking.

As I had a miscarriage in Jan the EPU saw me & I was measuring a few days behind & the heartbeat was hard to find. Because of this i was sent for another scan on Friday.

The heartbeat was strong & the baby had grown but was still behind my 5 or so days. I didn't have a positive pregnancy test until 5 days after my period was due so docs think I ovulation late. Especially as it was so recent after my miscarriage. I have a small bleed under the sac so was given progesterone for it. I get evening sickness a few nights a week & was given tablets for that.

I'm still so nervous I feel anxious every time I go to the toilet, that I'll miscarry again x trying to be positive but still scared.

Lemonyfire · 10/06/2024 21:01

@Duffy23 congratulations! I think I remember you from a mc thread I also had one in January. Hope you're doing okay, I feel the anxiety too ❤️ I'm just over 8 weeks and on progesterone too xx

Duffy23 · 10/06/2024 21:10

@Lemonyfire I remember you too! Massive congratulations x How are you feeling today 💙

scrumdiddly123 · 10/06/2024 21:11

I had my first scan today! Saw a baby with a heartbeat measuring 7 weeks exactly! I’m 6+4 going by LMP. Starting to feel real now 😳

warmbutteredtoast · 10/06/2024 21:11

Hi everyone, I've been following along for a while but nervous to join due to previous losses. Congratulations everyone on your pregnancies!

@Lemonyfire @Duffy23 I remember both of you from the miscarriage thread, I also lost my baby in January. So nice to see you on this thread. I wasn't planning on saying hello on here until my scan on Wednesday at 7+3 but saw you both so decided to go for it! I'm also very nervous after previous losses. Duffy, that's great there was a strong heartbeat at the most recent scan and that baby had grown. It's so hard not to be so scared after loss. One day at a time. I'm the same every time I go to the loo, it's exhausting. Sending you lots of love xx

Duffy23 · 10/06/2024 21:13

@warmbutteredtoast hello! I'm so happy for you & to see you here xx the anxiety is not fun x

Firsttimetrier · 10/06/2024 21:23

Had my booking in appointment today, so definitely starting to feel real! Looking forward to the 12 week scan on the 2nd July too and not that long to wait.

I had an emergency C-section last time and the midwife is encouraging of a VBAC, so think I’m going to attempt it and speak with the consultant in a few weeks time! Has anyone had one before? Or those with DC thinking of doing the same?

Lemonyfire · 10/06/2024 21:46

@warmbutteredtoast oh so lovely to see you here too as well as @Duffy23 ❤️ I think there's someone else from earlier on too. The anxiety is real but I actually feel a lot more relaxed this time round than last!

@Firsttimetrier I went for a vbac with my second, it ended in another emcs but I don't regret it for a second! Loved my labour and the experience. I didn't go through labour with my first he was a prem C-section under GA so I really wanted to experience it, if you have a previous labour experience your vbac is more likely to be successful :)

Hello
Does breast soreness tend to come and go around 7 weeks. Mine were sore about a week ago but not anymore and makes me anxious.

Mine are way less sore now at 8w5d than a couple of weeks ago. Still a little bit but no where near as heavy/achey. I'm not too worried but also having a scan anyway (too impatient to wait until 12w!) this weekend so I guess I'll see if everything is okay then.

It seems like symptoms really come and go in waves. Mine do anyway! Apart from exhaustion which is 24/7 Grin

LS888 · 11/06/2024 12:33

quick update from me- Had my private scan this morning and good news is that we saw baby and a heart beat ❤️. All seems well. She could see where the bleeding had come from and said I might get some more as there was still some visible next to the sac. She said that I was measuring slightly behind what I thought. She said around 6 weeks. Which would put my due date to early Feb potentially. Feel a lot better having had the scan. I have my booking appointment this afternoon so can relax a bit now I’ve seen the heartbeat!

BeLemonQuoter · 11/06/2024 14:42

@LS888 this is such a good news! Good luck for the rest of the pregnancy too!

Ah amazing! I was induced with my son as my waters went but contractions were slow to start, despite contractions starting the day before then dying off. So I got about 12 hours of the labour experience and loved it but also ended up in a EMCS due to his positioning.

My preference would be a vaginal birth as having a newborn and a toddler then my husband only getting two weeks pat leave sounds difficult!

m8ybeb8by · 11/06/2024 19:39

@LS888 that's great news!!!

This is going to sound silly but all I want is salty chips at all times at the moment and as someone who goes to the gym regularly, avoids carbs, quite weight conscious, I am going mad on the food.

If I don't eat, I feel as I'm gna be sick.

It sounds silly but this change of mindset is so hard as I don't have energy for exercise and just want to eat bread all day!!

Sorry as I appreciate this is a bit of a moan but finding it hard how my body cravings are way ahead of my mindset and trying to get them to align is causing me anxst and then I feel guilty for thinking like this!

TerryRose · 11/06/2024 20:48

Went for my first hospital scan today, my GP had given them the wrong date of my last period so the dates were off but I knew myself I'm only 11 weeks , baby is measuring. 10 weeks and 6 days so they are bringing me back in 2 weeks to get better pictures of the head and make sure the dates are fine, this happened the first time as well so not worried. I went by myself as we didn't have anyone to mind the little one and then I went in to see partners and kids in the waiting room 🤣

I am also needing to eat very plain beige foods to keep me sane or I feel so sick. It’s a hard battle of the head isn’t it when you know you really want to be eating healthy but your body just wants the junk! Hopefully it will pass soon!

Just before my first pregnancy, I was going to the gym 6 days a week, on a real health kick, felt fantastic then BOOM. Got pregnant, could only stomach Ritz biscuits, the thought the eating chicken made me gag, veggies and fruit - nope!

It’s hard but listen to your body, this trimester will pass and you’ll feel like yourself come the second.

Sarah268 · 12/06/2024 11:02

@m8ybeb8by i am the same, so active and eat pretty healthily but since I’ve been pregnant I just eat beige salty food! Vegetables make me gag, can barely eat fruit.
I have no energy to exercise and when I do I feel awful. My heart rate is so high and I feel so tired.

It’s such a battle mentally. I’m going to be the size of a house at this rate!

@ohpoowhatnow Similar here, my nausea just stopped overnight at 8 weeks. It has freaked me out massively! I saw a HB on a scan at 7+3 so I know things were fine then but obviously it can all go wrong so quickly. I’m going to have to have another scan in a week or so I think because I can’t hack the stress!

Sopshef · 12/06/2024 12:23

I'm glad people are saying this too, I had to call at mcds on the way home last night for a small chips to see me through. I am so nauseous all the time EXCEPT during the time I am eating. And then after, I feel sick again.

m8ybeb8by · 12/06/2024 13:09

@Sarah268 @Firsttimetrier @LS888

I'm so glad people are feeling similar!! I thought it was just me in this weird cycle and felt selfish to me thinking about my weight.

We should try to enjoy as eating chips and bread several times a week is a novelty to me!

I am also in this position I have touched fruit and veg probably once in the last 7 weeks and thrown it back up ... before that I was always on the healthy eating exercising regularly. Its such a change and also socially has changed me, now happy being at home on my own. Now weirdly all I want is carbs and oddly ice cream (I don't usually even like this)

Sopshef · 12/06/2024 14:34

We have a big holiday planned so I was on a very tight regime to lose half a stone before then! Agreed, it's quite nice just to accept that it has to be salty carbs.
