Thank you for all your messages. It’s been a tough month. 3 weeks of epu thinking it’s ectopic, multiple internal and external scans, 6 blood tests then news last week it’s a failing pregnancy. This was confirmed today. I will have another scan next week to 100% confirm this followed by an operation to remove the tissue.
i am sorry for anyone else that is going through similar x

So sorry. Sending lots of love.

🚨 people with morning/afternoon/any time of the day sickness 🚨: WHAT is helping you. Currently very miserable in bed puking my guts up - think my lunch was too big. What is helping everyone not vom?!

are you sick the whole time? If so, go to your GP as you might have HG.

If it’s just a one off episode, I find sparkling water really helps me and eating little portions through the day of things that are protein based.

Things that are helping me:
taking long deep breaths in for five out for five
Eating ice cubes and I've made water lollies in lolly moulds.
Eating only what I feel like and smaller portions.

I'm hoping its a one off from eating lunch at once, rather than a tiny bite every few minutes as it's clear that's all my body can handle right now. Will see how I get on - gonna take tomorrow off work and watch myself. Sparkling water is a great shout. Thanks

Vik27 · 30/05/2024 06:07

@TerryRose glad it’s not just me, I normally eat quite healthy but all I want lately is burgers, pizzas and cheese. I thankfully haven’t had any sickness but the food aversions are real!

MrsK23 · 30/05/2024 06:30

I had a very small amount of spotting yesterday evening when I wiped, gave me a bit of a fright. However nothing more since and feeling quite queasy this morning for the first… breasts have been super sore too so hopefully it was nothing to worry about🤞🏻🤞🏻

coffeerocket · 30/05/2024 07:06

Has anyone else's symptoms fluctuated? I'm 7w and the past couple of days, I haven't felt as nauseous as usual and my boobs aren't as sore. It's making me feel really different.

Is this normal? Worried it's hormones dropping Blush I'm having an early scan this weekend (privately) so it's only a few days to wait but it feels like forever.

Lemonyfire · 30/05/2024 09:30

@coffeerocket I could have written this. Last 2 days my boobs went back to normal and had no symptoms. Had a scan anyway yesterday at EPU which showed everything on track with a hb at 6.5 weeks. It's very normal for symptoms to fluctuate especially when we are so vigilant! This morning my boobs are sore again!

MaybeBaby2024 · 30/05/2024 09:46

@belleissmart yes I have the all day sickness. GP has signed me off work with hyperemesis gravidarum. I find sipping on squash helpful. And ice lollies. Nibbling on crackers too.

I find I need to balance not being too hungry and not being too full as both make me feel like vomiting.

you have my sympathy and solidarity, it is hell!

LS888 · 30/05/2024 09:47

I’m the same with the wavering symptoms. Feel quite sick and then it just goes. Feeling really tired too. No sore boobs for me yet. But don’t think I had that for a while last time. I did a test yesterday morning and got a strong line. But the doubt is horrible isn’t it.

I have just under 2 weeks until my booking appointment and just under 3 weeks until my early private scan. It doesn’t feel real some days. I was talking to a friend yesterday who is 16 weeks pregnant and it was so hard not to say anything!! 🙈 and I’m meeting my NCT group friends today for a walk and it will be so hard again.

Think I might keep it secret until our official scan though- all being well. It’s my daughter’s christening a few days before I will be 12 weeks and I want it to be her day.

EnidH00pes · 30/05/2024 10:13

We had an early scan at 5+6 the other day and saw a yolk sac but no feral pole or heartbeat. Since then DW has been stressing, reading everything she can and is convinced the sac is empty and she will miscarry. Her symptoms are also hugely fluctuating.

We are going for a private scan this weekend at 6 and a half weeks and I'm so worried that also won't show anything and she'll continue to be distressed. I wasn't worried myself but I think her concern is infectious.

ChopChop2311 · 30/05/2024 10:21

A yolk is a very positive sign. I've never had one 🥹 my last MMC and empty sac was seen at 7+1 & my scan earlier this week at 5+6 was also an empty sac. I was praying to see a yolk, but I wasn't so lucky.

Marney12 · 30/05/2024 10:26

@EnidH00pes my early scan at 5+3 showed the same (no fetal pole) and I had my 7+1 scan yesterday where we saw heartbeat and everything was measuring fine. Try to stay positive for her, my husband is convinced this will work out and has really been picking me up when I’ve been down & worrying etc.

Also, I have been pretty lucky on the symptoms side of things by the sound of it - only nausea if I am “hungry” (I seem to be hungry all the time so I am constantly eating) and tiredness in the afternoons. Just goes to show symptoms are not to be relied on!

EnidH00pes · 30/05/2024 10:30

@Marney12 @ChopChop2311 Thank you both that really helps and I will show her your messages. I keep telling her how early it is and that it's just one little hurdle at a time. She's been very ill with OHSS so I think she's just very fed up of constant monitoring so that lack of any concrete news is hard to take.

@ChopChop2311 I'm so sorry about your struggles so far. Sending lots of luck for this pregnancy!

Hi,

Does anyone have general cramps as a symptom? I am taking progesterone so I'm wondering whether that is causing these cramps. I'm 6+5

Thanks

Hi!

I recently started progesterone and would agree it causes them. The day I started them I started getting them and its always within a few hours of using the pessary. None before hand and none the day I skipped a dose due to another health test

CadoAvo · 30/05/2024 11:30

First scan tonight at 7+4 and really hoping for some good news but I'm quite 50/50 at the moment. Spotting started on Sunday and has since turned to light bleeding. Either way, I just need to know 🤞🏼

SunflowerDream · 30/05/2024 11:51

Seeing lots of posts about fluctuating symptoms - I have had pretty much every symptom possible this pregnancy but it definitely isn't always as severe. This week (week 8) it has really ramped up for me but today I am not feeling quite as bad. This was super worrying to me when I first experienced lack of symptoms but they came back with a vengeance so I am quite used to them coming and going now and changing in severity.

I haven't actually physically thrown up but have been on the verge and incredibly nauseous pretty much all day every day. I'm using travel sickness wrist bands, drinking sparkling water and snacking on ginger biscuits. I think the combination of all 3 is helping but it definitely isn't a cure. I am also eating much smaller meals but more frequently as I find I feel less nauseous if I'm eating - but more nauseous if I'm really full😂. If it's really severe definitely speak to your GP and I am sure they can try something that works for you - I hope you feel better soon💓

Lemonyfire · 30/05/2024 12:51

@m8ybeb8by I started progesterone yesterday and have been very crampy since and wasn't getting cramps before so I would say probably!

DaringlyDizzy · 30/05/2024 13:09

Has anyone done a sneak peek with previous pregnancies? How did you find it?

Sorry if this is silly, but what is a sneak peek?

Sorry if this is silly, but what is a sneak peek?

Its a blood test from 6 weeks that can reveal gender. The home kits are not accurate as its super easy to contaminate the sample (keeping pricking finger to get the blood so it goes everywhere and ANY male DNA anywhere will give a male result). However, our local clinic offers the inhouse blood test direct from vein which is meant to be really good. They have a scan plus sneak peek offer at £180 and im tempted
