Hi 👋 another newbie here.
Expecting my third baby, I'm 11 weeks today going my LMP but I think I'm less. My app says due date 30 Oct but I'd put my life on it this will be a Nov baby as I was 12 and 13 days overdue with my daughters. Booking apt and scan are all the one apt for me which is not for another 2 weeks so still quite anxious.
I'll also be 36 when the baby is born.
Feeling like crap atm and just can't wait to move into 2nd trimester and feel like myself again.
Nice to virtually meet you all and look forward to the chats here and on Facebook. Will join the group after my scan.

Welcome! Nice to have you here ☺️

How are you doing @Cloclomarie ?

Thanks for checking in 😊

still bleeding when i go to the toilet and it’s very red, so I’m not feeling optimistic - although sort of holding on to the hope it could be a hematoma which is what my sister had with two of her pregnancies. I’ve made it to France and just going to try and have a relaxed few days here and then book a private scan the day I’m back, I imagine by then it’ll be more clear if I’m miscarrying if the blood continues 😢

y0rkier0se · 10/04/2024 13:12

I’m still on Easter holidays, back to work on Monday, & today is the first day of the holidays that I have nothing on! Been decorating our bedroom so that’s taken all week and tomorrow we’re at a wedding where my OH is best man so today I’m making the most of doing absolutely nothing, laid on the sofa watching Grey’s Anatomy and thinking about how different it will be this time next year all being well 👶🏼

@waryandbored - go back to the doctor! You may need different meds or a combination. I'm now on metoclopramide 3x a day and cyclizine 2x a day and am finally feeling some relief. I found the doctors far more proactive about treating sickness than my first pregnancy, which is cheering. Pregnancy sickness support is a great resource. I find the non stop nausea relentless, so you have my sympathies x

Meatballsandpasta · 10/04/2024 15:24

Constipation update. I would like to report success following a diet consisting mostly of calippos, biscuits and wheetabix today 😂 Not the most balanced diet but it did the job. Hopefully I can keep on top of it a bit better now... fingers crossed!

Good point. I will see how I go today and tomorrow and then try GP if no change. The tablets definitely work but just not for long enough! I have had to RUN to be sick twice today and there is no way I can do that while I’m teaching. Also talking for a long time, like reading a story to my LO, is a massive trigger for me and that’s basically my job!

Woohoo!! Hilarious. Whatever works, and gets you through.

Cravings are so weird. I haven’t eaten dairy for 5 years and haven’t craved it at all. But I can’t stop thinking about eating a big bowl of cheesy pasta. It’s making my stomach growl but I know I can’t have it 😢 also had a can of full fat coke today which I don’t think I’ve ever had before!

I’ve had this craving too. Are you lactose intolerant or vegan? And yes to the coke!

I’m vegan but I think I’d feel awful if I ate an animal product. I might try and make a vegan cheesy pasta but I know it won’t be what I’m craving!

I get you. No vegan cheese is the same since they changed Applewood. I don’t think there’s any shop bought Mac n cheese anymore either? Happy to be corrected though if you know of any!!

I’ve had the same craving and tbh part of me thinks what’s the worst thing that could happen if I had it a few times. I’ve been vegan since 2019 but maybe my body knows it needs something 🤷‍♀️

I think M&S do one but I’m not sure. I’m going to search this weekend!! Cathedral City cheese is decent enough but I do miss Applewood!
My DP said the same about maybe my body knows it needs something but I don’t know… I’ve been vegan since 2019 too! And our dates for our pregnancies are almost exactly the same. Spooky!

So many similarities! 🫣

I think your DH could be onto something. I’m really weighing up the cheese thing. I’ve wanted cheesy triangles from Pizza Hut for the past two weeks! I wish they still did the vegan mozzarella sticks somewhere. I definitely wouldn’t even be considering it if it were meat but I do my best 99% of the time and haven’t slipped up once as a vegan… so might just do it.

Have you been craving anything else? I’ve also wanted lots of fruit, particularly raspberries and green apples!

Does anyone find taking the Pregnacare vitamins makes you feel a bit sicker? 😂 they have not helped my tummy settle

Yes! I have to take them when I've just eaten a massive meal as otherwise I just throw them straight back up again, and even then they are making me sooo sick

What do they put in them?!!

Riverstardust · 10/04/2024 16:56

@Sparksi I read somewhere that it's about the form of iron they use in them, about 50%(i think) don't get on with it. I'll see if I can find it.

LegoBear84 · 10/04/2024 16:56

what are everyone's experiences of slapped cheek?
I work in a school and wasn't planning on telling senior leadership just yet but we've got a couple of suspected cases of slapped cheek (and another 12wk pregnant teacher who they do know about). Leadership don't seem to be overly bothered and I'm timetabled to teach the class with the suspected cases in on Friday.
I guess my main concern is the children that have been exposed to the virus and will be contagious, and I will be spending time with them.
Any advice greatly appreciated x

You need to tell them and keep away imo. Better safe x

CurlyWurly1991 · 10/04/2024 17:19

Yes @LegoBear84 in this situation I would be telling them asap and staying away…

@Cazzy87 Snap! I also have a 10 year old, this is DC2 and I’m 37, but with same DH.

Just over 7 weeks and I’m feeling more pregnant today. The sore boobs have ramped up and seem to have inflated themselves, nausea / queasiness and that hungover feeling all day. At work training and the only thing that helps is getting fresh air regularly and eating essentially all the time. I’m also suffering with insomnia which is something I often have but seems to be worse with all the hormones of pregnancy.

Do be careful if you eat any as I would worry it might upset your stomach. Not what you need on top of pregnancy symptoms!
I’ve been craving really unhealthy stuff. Salted crisps, waffles and pasta mainly! Also cucumber and beetroot. Oh an I had a salad and gherkin sandwich today 🙈

I’m thinking maybe I get DH to have it and pinch one or two. Then if I am ok get more tomorrow, or not if the craving has gone by then!

That all sounds lush right now! We were planning to have jacket potatoes for tea but I don’t know why I just can’t abide the thought. Will have to think of other options!

Ah nice to hear someone in the same position! So just rang to get first appt with midwife can't get me in until I'm 11 weeks (early May!) Surely this sint acceptable?? I worry now! I'll be needing my 12 weeks scan 1 week after my first appt that's not right!
