Hi everyone and welcome to thread 3.
Please ask if you’d like the link to the private Facebook group. It expires after a couple of days so I won’t add it to this post.
If you’re new to the thread, we are a friendly and supportive bunch all in it together and hoping to welcome our new additions in November 2024!

For us, we just want it for peace of mind. It provides more accurate results than the NHS one. We're also using it as a way to find out the sex.

I totally get that and want the NiPT too. Just holding back because I thought it was the case that if the NHS combined test (at 12 weeks) comes up high risk then you are referred to an NiPT anyway (identical to the one you get privately).

@purplecolouroffunk hope for the best and prepare for the worst maybe ? I totally understand wanting to keep the hope alive - what else have we got in a process where we have such little control? I wish you the best xx

purplecolouroffunk · 12/04/2024 15:51

Thanks everyone. My partner's way of dealing with this is to think the worst, so he's already accepted that it's over. I can see him looking at me like he feels sorry for me when I mention I have a glimmer of hope, it's horrible.

We've talked it all out though and I'm feeling a bit better now about the outcome either way. We'll keep trying if we need to, and we were lucky to fall our first time properly trying💜

Riverstardust · 12/04/2024 15:55

@CurlyWurly1991 ahh I see, I didn't realise they send you to one anyway. In that case, maybe we'll wait to see if we get referred and then if not, book one anyway. As horrible as it sounds, we would likely terminate if some of the syndromes come back positive for us(I think it would absolutely break me and DH to give birth to a baby who'll only survive briefly) so it's definitely something we'll do.

Anyone else having such sensitive teeth? Feel like mine are constantly bothering me!

No but heard it’s definitely a thing!

Sparksi · 12/04/2024 17:29

I can’t help myself from getting the scan pics back out every so often to look❤️

What I’m a bit confused over is what is the grey area above baby? It looks just as big as baby? She said it was definitely just the one but I 🤔 just don’t know what it could be?

Slightly sensitive - I'd attributed it to all the apples I've been eating lately but maybe it is pregnancy! If I remember correctly it was about 14 weeks last time that they were very sensitive for a month or so.

piechipsgravy · 12/04/2024 18:01

@UnravellingTheWorld I think mine is due to lots of fruit too. Worried that my reflux/sicky burps have done some damage. I'm on the waiting list for an NHS dentist as well so can't really afford to check!

Bladder maybe ?

Bladder maybe ?

It’s in the sac so can’t think it could be? X

1yearplan · 12/04/2024 18:11

Could it be the yolk sac @Sparksi?

Hello, I’m new here ! Let me introduce myself , I’m I’m 32 and this is my second pregnancy. Currently 9 weeks pregnant exactly I think !! I had my first son in march 2021 (lockdown baby) I’m super excited to have got pregnant so quickly as I have suspected endo and took me two years with my first son to conceive. I met some amazing woman with my first son on here and we still keep in touch so would love to chat to you all …..I have been so ill this pregnancy the nausea is through the roof ( no sickness ) just constant sickness . Yesterday was horrendoes so I called the doctors and was given something I can’t remember the name, anyway I think it’s definitely helped today as I haven’t been as bad at all so I’m over the moon. Anyone else on anti sickness and notice it’s helping ?? I’m para about being on anything whilst pregnant !! 🙏🙏

Welcome! Xx

Sparksi · 12/04/2024 22:35

Update - a sonographer on another group told me it was just fluid on the scan and 100% normal to see. I guess the scan is a moving picture so that’s just a screenshot! Xx

Welcome and congrats! I hope you continue to feel better. No need to worry if the doctor gave you them and knows your'e pregnant. 😊

@Sparksi That makes sense about it just being a screenshot. Hope you feel more relaxed?

Morning all,
Is anyone else really struggling to get comfortable at night? No bump, but bloated which looks like a bump and every night I find myself tossing and turning from side to side.

Yep, I lose count of how many times I wake up overnight. I have currently been awake since 4:30 as I just couldn’t get comfy. My toddler and DP are still soundo 😔

@Firsttymmum welcome, I'm with you on the 24/7 nausea it's ever so slightly easing for me I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. I took cyzclizine ( spelt wrong ) for 2 days but it made me dangerously tired when driving and didn't help with the nausea so stopped immediately xx

Me - I've barely slept a wink. I've had restless legs too, which doesn't help. I usually use a magnesium cream on them, but it didn't work last night. Lack of sleep is horrible.

LegoBear84 · 13/04/2024 07:40

@waryandbored @1yearplan I can't help but think if I'm struggling now surely it's not going to improve as baby gets bigger 🤦‍♀️
I'm a side sleeper anyway but just can't settle.

Sparksi · 13/04/2024 08:25

Does anyone else have zero energy?

I have woken up this morning and I’m not out of bed yet, I just feel so indescribably rough. I slept for 10 hours but feel tired and feel really sick already, just started to drink my glass of water and I’ve been retching on every single sip lol.

I wondered if my extreme fatigue was iron related but the midwife was really happy with my iron results and said my levels are the high end of the normal range which means I get plenty 🤔

@legobear84 Yup! Exactly the same, I feel like I need to support my bloated belly or everything sloshes around uncomfortably. My solution the past couple of nights has been an extra pillow, shoved unceremoniously in front of and slightly under my belly. It definitely helps! Although I had to wake up my husband a little while ago to get him to bring me cracker, cos no amount of pillow is going to make up for the feeling of hunger nausea. 😂

CurlyWurly1991 · 13/04/2024 08:48

I’m also one suffering with sleep! I have snacks next to my bed - last night was peanut butter on toast. I normally wake at least once needing to wee then snack. Can take at least an hour to drop back off 💤

Firsttymmum · 13/04/2024 08:52

@LegoBear84 yes I struggle to sleep and my stomach is so bloated , I remember this from my first pregnancy.

@mrssunshinexxx yes this is the same as what I got , I was very sleepy with it yesterday so will see how I go today this is my second day. I will also not take it tomorrow and see if it makes a difference as I’m not sure it does yet. Oh it gives me hope to think maybe 12 weeks I will get a little better 😂

@Sparksi

im the exact same , really struggling with how tired I feel . So exhausted, working until 5 today and just want to 😴 it’s like an extended hangover for weeks it’s horrid. Good thing is the second trimester you normally feel amazing so we only have to wait for that moment😂

anyone else got a toddler , I’m finding this so hard 🙈 my son just turned 3 and has so much energy! 💫
