BloodontheTracks · 23/12/2023 19:28

I am anaemic, thanks for asking. But I'm on iron tablets so maybe I need to take even more. RIP my digestive system.

Onedayatatime24 · 23/12/2023 19:46

@Sunriseandcoffee yes I've been having on/off period ish cramps since around 36 weeks, no other signs of labour so think it's just baby making his way down!

Redpanda21 · 23/12/2023 21:50

Anyone know if you’re supposed to do blood sugars 1hr after starting a meal or 1hr after finishing?

Baby is over 90th centile and AC is above 95th centile so having to do 3 day glucose testing.

Mummyme87 · 23/12/2023 22:31

@Redpanda21 1hour post finishing the meal completely. I’m also doing blood glucose monitoring, after first three initial readings I thought I was screwed but last three have all been fine. Will see what fasting is tomorrow as that’s seemingly the hard one to sort

Gremlin84 · 23/12/2023 22:38

I think I’m in the minority in hoping for a late baby 😂 run up to Christmas has been so manic and stressful it would be lovely to have a couple of weeks of resting and actually getting a chance to nest and tidy and get things in order. I’m desperate to deep clean the house but there just hasn’t been the time.

TrudyProud · 23/12/2023 22:53

@Redpanda21 it's one hour post finishing your meal. I'm taking 4-5 readings daily because my daughter is high centiles.
Everything is coming back low end of normal so hopefully on Wednesday I can stop as my poor fingers aren't enjoying it one bit

Lilothblos · 24/12/2023 04:26

@Gremlin84 I feel exactly the same! Currently 37+2 and could really do with another couple of weeks once family have left after Christmas to get properly ready. Still haven’t packed the hospital bag even…

Redpanda21 · 24/12/2023 05:01

@TrudyProud @Mummyme87 thanks. I did do one an hour after first bite and it was 9.1! Panicked a bit and did one and hour after finishing and it was 7.2.

My last pregnancy i tested at home and my morning fasting readings were always high so had a GTT what was fine.

Mummyme87 · 24/12/2023 06:07

@Gremlin84 i wouldn’t have minded a 41week baby if I knew I could wait that long but can’t risk him getting as big as my first born. Would have meant a later in January baby and longer to prepare.

dreadful sleep, up 7 times to wee between midnight and 6am, jeepers. It’s all the fluid retention from the car journey yesterday!

WitcheryDivine · 24/12/2023 07:55

Ah @Gremlin84 i know what you mean! We packed hospital bag yesterday finally but far from sorted generally esp with Christmas prep taking up most of our time. Also the baby just feels quite protected inside! Know that probably sounds weird but it is strange to think they’ll be out soon.

PartRadish · 24/12/2023 08:24

Gross overshare question, feel free to scroll passed 🙈 I lost of big chunk of what I assume was mucus plug last night. I can't remember what it typically looks like though. This was about the size of a £2 coin, thick like a glob of wallpaper paste and really yellow. Normal? (sorry, I know it's a bit grim, if I can't ask here though 😅)

I know it doesn't mean baby is imminent, but I've had precisely zero preparation type symptoms so I'm a little bit relieved to know my body is preparing at least!

PartRadish · 24/12/2023 08:27

Also yes I should really know these things with this being baby number 4 🤣 but the last one was 7 years ago and this pregnancy has been so so different that most of the time I feel like a first timer!

lucya66 · 24/12/2023 08:35

@PartRadish sounds like the classic mucus plug! I’ve not had one myself but I did google it just so I know what to look for… kinda regret it Hahahah

buckingmad · 24/12/2023 09:27

@PartRadish yep mine was similar with DD! Think I lost it a week or two before my waters broke.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/12/2023 09:54

Wow congrats to everyone who has had babies already!! ❤️

@TrudyProud I had an induction at 37 weeks and I had 3 x sessions of induction acupuncture. I think it helped me, anecdotally, as they said I was contracting when I went in. My current antenatal class leader is a midwife who offers induction acupuncture, so I'll be giving it another go.

Has anyone else tried it before?

Could definitely do with a bit more time too!! Fingers crossed. I've got the hoover out to do the bedrooms shortly.

Solidarity with the nighttime bathroom trips. I didn't count but still. It's good practice for all the night wakings to come 😂

Sounds pluggish to me!! My last baby was (nearly) 7 years ago too! Samesies. It all feels like a distant memory.

Mummyme87 · 24/12/2023 12:29

@PartRadish yes sounds like mucus plug, I passed mine for the first time ever at 35weeks. Nothing since

RG9895 · 24/12/2023 12:44

Omg congratulations to those who have had their babies!! 💖💖

Just marking my spot as just realised we are on part 10! I am 38 weeks on boxing day and hoping she stays put until at least after then but we will see 😂

Hope you are all okay, I am so excited to see all the babies arrivals 🥹

sashastuck · 25/12/2023 07:13

Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating 🎄 hope we have no surprise arrivals today!

FirstT1meMum · 25/12/2023 07:39

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all have a magical day 🥰🎄🎄

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/12/2023 09:18

Merry Christmas everyone!

Can I ask, has anyone had more muted, gentler baby movements than normal? I can feel her moving, but nowhere near as vigorously as normal, for the last 24 hours or so. Not sure if that warrants a call to the triage

Luhou · 25/12/2023 09:18

Merry Christmas All! Hope we're all enjoying a relaxing day. 🎄

sashastuck · 25/12/2023 10:45

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes, the past 2 days. Although today he’s moving a bit more than he was - I have felt ‘things’ so haven’t been too worried but they’re definitely not the belly-moving movements I’ve had in the past, more of a roll or a foot in the side
