Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@ceruleansky Ahhh exciting, mine was 30th July until they moved it forward a day today! Have you had a scan? Sorry if you have already said, get a bit lost in this thread sometimes! I hope your work are okay with it, I would have thought if you are only in 8 days a month anyway, it's a reasonable adjustment they can make 😊

Oatmilktea · 23/12/2023 16:09

Is anyone else worried about how their nausea/sickness will affect them over the festive period? I’m going to my sisters for Christmas and I’ve told her and my mum so I’ll be happy to excuse myself for naps etc but still feel like I’ll need to put a bit of a face on so not to moan my way through their day!

I’m worrying about NYE when we are going to visit DPs family. We are staying in an air bnb (so glad not to be staying in a relatives house) but as we don’t get over to visit very often, it’s always a very busy couple of days of parading me round his aunties/cousins houses etc 😂. The thought of it is already making me exhausted!

MoonIightDreamer · 23/12/2023 16:11

@missmoosh ah how lovely. Its so nice seeing them on scans isn't it .
I'm had a another scan on Thursday. I'm due 16th July.
I had a scan at 7 weeks and I'm now 10 weeks. It's so crazy how in such a short time the change is so rapid. At my 7 week it was a blob and at my 10 week you can make out the body shape, the head and the little legs .

LStar1 · 23/12/2023 16:38

Hey ladies, currently 11+4 and haven't had any nausea for over a week now and feeling anxious. I had a mmc in august at 7 weeks so have had a 6,8 and 10 week scan already and am was fine and I have 12 week scan on Thursday 28th but debating to get a private appointment for another scan tomorrow... what would you all do wait until Thursday or go tomorrow... planning on telling very close family on Xmas day but in two minds just in case

missmoosh · 23/12/2023 17:41

@Oatmilktea im intending on just puking my way through it and hoping for the best 😂

@MoonIightDreamer oh I know it's so magical, the first couple of minutes when the screen is off at the private clinic is intense though! But when the screen comes on my heart just melts away! You are so right seeing the teeny little limbs and wiggle today was just ❤️❤️❤️

@LStar1 it could just be that you are nearing the end of the first trimester and the placenta is starting to take over, so you are getting less symptoms maybe? If it would put your mind at ease and you can get a scan tomorrow, I would, just so you can relax and enjoy your Christmas!

MoonIightDreamer · 23/12/2023 18:23

@LStar1 I lost all my symptoms. They were very short lived . Currently 10+3 and had baby checked on Thurs and all is week. I think its completely normal for symptoms to disappear at 11+ since that's roughly when your placenta is taking over

Lisao86 · 23/12/2023 18:51

@Oatmilktea yes, I’m dreading Christmas to be honest, and I know that sounds awful! But trying to justify the small but frequent appetite, dodging the pate, trying to hide the 24/7 nausea and exhaustion, not going to bed when I want to… 😩

BananaHammock23 · 23/12/2023 22:16

Is anyone else having their second and considering a VBAC? I've been booked in for a meeting with a consultant and another with a VBAC clinic to discuss my options, which I wasn't expecting! I had DS via c sec at 35 weeks due to problems, but would love to try the other way this time!

ceruleansky · 24/12/2023 05:59

@missmoosh
Yes I had a scan but it was nowhere as clear as yours! I see, my tentative due dates are 30th/31st. I'm kinda hoping 31st so that my baby can share Harry Potter's birthday. 🤣
Yes, I'm hoping for the same! How do you feel? I hope you're feeling better, nausea and all! ♥️

I'm hoping for a VBAC. I had a C-section due to DS being breech.
I've been told I'll be consultant-led and have my first appointment with the consultant straight after my 20 week scan. Apparently, she's very pro-VBAC which is good.

missmoosh · 24/12/2023 09:22

@ceruleansky ahh was it internal? As I suspect that's why mine was so clear lol
Yeah I'm hoping not to hit 31st as my SIL gave birth this year on 31st so there is a risk of sharing a birthday! I'm hoping she's cool with that! Did not know that was Harry potters birthday though lol that's really cool!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 24/12/2023 09:59

Urgh! My daughter has COVID and is completely devastated because that means we're home for Christmas rather than with family. She is 11 and doesn't know about the pregnancy yet (not telling her until at least 12 week scan) so trying to keep my distance but it's so hard! She is so tearful and upset. My poor girl.

hopingfor23 · 24/12/2023 10:55

Decided to tell close family who are with us over Xmas despite only being 10 weeks! Second pregnancy in a year and really cannot hide it I look about 5 months along 🙈🙈 How is everyone telling people? As it will be Xmas day I've put my scan pic in a Xmas bauble and so will use that I think ❤️

How's everyone doing? I'm ok had a horrendous head cold this week which along with my nausea and an 11 month old has nearly finished me off!!!! But coming out the other side now phew! X

BunBun221 · 24/12/2023 12:44

We've been telling close friends and family since about 6 weeks. We have basically worked on the basis of we'll tell those who we would tell and support us if something were to go wrong. Tbh it's been an absolute breath of fresh air because we waited until 12 weeks with our first and the first trimester was brutal and lonely! This time it has been much nicer!

ceruleansky · 24/12/2023 17:33

@missmoosh
Yes it was internal! Could just see a blob. Oh I totally get that, it would be better if it's a different date that can just be your kid's! Yeah but I'm happy to have a Leo baby. I did the glucose test today, still waiting on the results. They took a blood sample, gave me 75g of glucose to mix in 350ml of water, I waited 2 hours and they took another blood sample. I think it's just to rule out gestational diabetes to see how your body processes sugar.

@hopingfor23
Congratulations!! The bauble idea is so cute! 😍 we will reveal ours at 10 weeks too, around new year.

Busyhedgehog · 25/12/2023 12:18

Hope everyone is having a nice Christmas Day. 🎄
I woke up with a headache and sore throat. DS seems to have given me another cold...the last one hasn't even gone, yet. I relented and had some Paracetamol and I'm now spending the day on the sofa sipping tea while DH is making the Christmas dinner.
I'm getting rather fed up of feeling awful...

Cherubs4 · 25/12/2023 22:40

Hi everyone, merry christmas to all who celebrate.

Glad to have found such an active thread.

I'm due baby number 4 on July 4th, got July 5th on 1st scan so imagine it'll stay around these dates.

Coming out of the first trimester, I can't be sure how different I feel - still slightly nauseous on and off and chronically tired. Mainly, I feel some stretching around my lower stomach - which I assume is ligament pain, which I do find a bit scary because I did have a small amount of blood loss. The midwife assured me it was normal but, even after 3 children, any blood fills me with fear.

Look forward to sharing our journeys together.

Hi BananaHammock23,

I had a VBAC with baby 3. Baby 1 was vaginal birth, baby 2 csection. So it's definitely possible.

For the sake of the recovery, I hope to have a vaginal birth again. But if I had a planned csection, I could make peace with that aswell.

A friend of mine had her internal scar tear during a vbac with her 2nd so that is a realistic risk but she had an emergency csec and both she and the baby were perfectly fine.

bringmearainbow · 26/12/2023 07:43

Hope everyone had a lovely Xmas if you celebrate sorry to those who are feeling poorly hope you get better soon! I have my 12 week scan on Thursday I'll be 12+4 my nausea has def eased off the last few days which has been nice though it was a bit of a reassurance blanket 😅 I'm still exhausted though. We've told most close family already. My son said I had 10 babies in my belly the other day he was absolutely sure of himself as only 2 year olds can be 🤣 I was like I hope not 🫣

Yes I will insist on a VBAC.

Got pregnant about 18 months after my EMCS. So I imagine I have had enough time to heal.

9+3, nausea starting to ease up - though I did throw up this AM. Midwife appointment arranged in 2 days.

Still haven't told anyone I'm pregnant with number #2. Though my sister joked on facetime "are you Pregnant? You look bloated". Had Christmas Dinner as an excuse.

hopingfor23 · 27/12/2023 08:45

Felt nauseous since 4 weeks but not actually been sick and it's been manageable but now I've hit week 10 I've thrown up twice 😩😩😩 this was the point in my last pregnancy that symptoms eased which I assumed was the placenta taking over so I'm confused as to why I'm getting worse 😩😩😩 any one else have this? X

BananaHammock23 · 27/12/2023 09:07

@hopingfor23 I think it can be so unpredictable! I was sick from 4-7 weeks then it kicked off again at about 11 weeks. In my first pregnancy I wasn't sick at all until 20 weeks when I had 2 weeks of throwing up!

AnonymousXXIX · 27/12/2023 09:40

Hi all! I was looking for a thread like this. Bit late to the party but I didn't have time till now.

I'm 10+3 today, waiting for a scan in January, with potential due date 21st July. Had a scan at 7 weeks privately but haven't been able to book another since (v difficult in my area) and I'm SUPER anxious about mmc. Everything seems fine but you just never know 😭

We have severe male factor infertility and were told numerous times we can't have children without ICSI, (sperm count 2-4 million and all in the wrong shape swimming in the wrong direction) but this miracle would be our second child! 😯 very surprised by it but also very happy.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 27/12/2023 10:59

Wow @AnonymousXXIX I could have written your post almost word for word! We have had same issues and I have a tentative due date of 22nd July. Hope you can switch off a little whilst you wait for your scan. How old is your first?

The hospital got back to me re:booking test urine sample. I had a UTI BUT that was 2 weeks ago. They said retest at GP surgery. Called GP took aaaaagggeeeesss to get through and they said they had no clue why the hospital said I could do that. They have no letter from them and i'd need an appointment for nurse to do dip test. I told them the hospital said the results would be sent to them and she said no. Go back to hospital and pick up prescription.

Laylamoxx · 27/12/2023 12:57

Hi everyone and happy holidays! For anyone who has had their booking appointment where they took blood, when do you generally get the results of that blood test back?
