Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@ceruleansky @bringmearainbow - it’s so lovely to have a surprise! My favourite bit of my son’s birth was finding out.

Think we’re going to find out this time though to help my son picture what’s coming (he keeps swapping between announcing he’s having a brother one day or a sister the next).

Family and friends seem to want us to have a girl this time but we’re fairly sure it’s another boy 💙- I guess we’ll find out in a few weeks!

bringmearainbow · 30/01/2024 13:09

@ceruleansky were the first two pics done at 13 weeks too?

@Morningcoffeeaddict I'm struggling a bit with not finding out this time one day I don't want to find out the next I really do so I can be organised. That was also one of my reasons for wanting to find out so we can prepare DS though atm he's adamant it's not a brother or sister it's just a baby 😂

Morningcoffeeaddict · 30/01/2024 13:13

@bringmearainbow haha yes we get a bit of “it’s just baby” too. We also asked him what names he likes for the baby and he just insists on “baby”. I don’t think he fully understands what the difference between brother/sister is if I’m honest.

we did want a surprise originally, but want to prepare DS, we’re also meant to be moving and I don’t want to bring 4 years worth of boy clothes with us if I don’t need to 😂. DH suggested finding out but keeping it to ourselves but DS will obviously tell everyone immediately- pretty sure 3 year olds don’t know what secrets are 😂

bringmearainbow · 30/01/2024 13:19

@Morningcoffeeaddict 😂 nope I can promise 3year olds have zero secret keeping skills or filters 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have so many clothes to sort through it feels me with dread just looking at the bags 🥴

Morningcoffeeaddict · 30/01/2024 13:52

@bringmearainbow I agree with the lack of filter - this morning I got “oh mummy your tum tum is so big!” which did turn into a sweet moment where he chatted about the baby in there for a while but initially I was like “excuse me??!!” 😂.

I did start out neatly vacuum packing clothes he grew out of by size - obviously I didn’t label the sizes as I seemed to believe I’d just remember how old he was by the outfits (I do not). More recent clothes are shoved in bags at random - it’ll almost be easier if it’s a girl so I can just get rid of it all and start again!!

Busyhedgehog · 30/01/2024 14:32

We'll just be reusing DS's old clothes. I've got the first pack out already (I did go through and sort and label everything last autumn) and while some of them might be a bit more "boyish", I don't think the baby will care. I remember putting DS in Christmas outfits at some point because we had run out of clean stuff...
DS is 7 and has been continually updating his class and teachers about the baby and its size in relation to different fruits. He gets very excited by that.

We've now also pre-registered the baby with my school's nursery. I know it's still approximately 18 months away but they only take 4-5 babies a year to keep the numbers balanced. We'll also apply for a spot at one of our local nurseries but I'm not sure how hard these are to get. We'll see where we can get a spot.

Haven't felt many movements, yet. A few little things...but they could be gas. However, I got to throw up for the first time today. I never threw up with DS. Not enjoying this and thought I'd be safe by now...apparently not.

AnonymousXXIX · 30/01/2024 14:45

We will be re-using all baby clothes regardless of sex. Got pretty neutral stuff first time around, and even stuff that isn't, we honestly don't care. I'm sure the children will form an opinion in future and we'll adapt accordingly... But until then I'm not wasting money lol.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 30/01/2024 14:51

@Busyhedgehog thats so sweet your son is so invested! How lovely!

I’m trying not to think about nurseries yet, but you’re right to - I went out looking after our son was born and loads of places had 18month waiting lists already at that point so I should be more prepared this time.

I’m half joking about donating all my son’s clothes - baby baby things are all neutral anyway since he was a surprise and his sleep sacks and things are actually all girls since that’s what we had as hand me downs and literally no one cares - least of all the baby. I have preemie bits I’m hoping not to need at all regardless of gender, but it’s more his toddler clothes that I’ll probably not want to move with all of if it’s a girl but who knows maybe I’ll get rid of them all and then have a girl who loves tractors and fighter jets as much as her dad and brother!

ceruleansky · 30/01/2024 15:52

@bringmearainbow
The first two are 13w4d and the third one is a bit older, maybe just around 13w!

My bump has finally popped at 14 weeks. Doesn't look like bloating anymore. The area below my navel (DH calls it my second stomach 🤣) is getting big so I guess baby is moving up!
Are you guys already showing?

Amberellaella · 30/01/2024 17:34

@ceruleansky I swear I am bigger at 16 weeks than my friend is at 26 😂

Had my 16 week appointment this morning and didn’t get to hear the heartbeat either 🥲 we did have a private scan this past Sunday though so I know all is fine ☺️

ceruleansky · 30/01/2024 17:59

@Amberellaella
Haha, it's quite surreal isn't it! It's also so strange how pregnancy looks on different people! I'm so jealous of the people who can bounce back easily, I suppose it also has a lot to do with core strength!
But anyway, I'm going to enjoy this phase without worrying about getting big!

CB2805 · 30/01/2024 18:37

I’m 15w and still I can’t see my bump anywhere😭 just a massive bloat. I expected to have at least a tinny bump by now due to twins, but nah my stomach is getting weirdly bigger like all of it!
im so jealous now of nice round bumps😅

MrsHousePlant · 30/01/2024 19:22

@ceruleansky sooo lovely seeing your scan pics!

I’m willing my little round belly to look more bump like but it’s not quite there yet. There’s a noticeable difference from pre-pregnancy but if you didn’t know, I don’t think people would think it’s a bump 😂

wannabe123 · 30/01/2024 20:35

I'm weirdly looking forward to going through the bags of baby clothes from my son. I've already been through it once or twice to find things to lend to friends and some of his clothes have sentimental memories attached. We got readmitted at 5 days due to his weight loss and seeing the outfit that he wore that day brings back memories, as does his coming home outfit and certain things that were given as gifts from friends we have now moved away from.
I'm sure when I get to the 6m, 1 year + bags it will be less fun! Although, I can't wait for baby to wear all the Blade and Rose leggings again.
We used cloth nappies with our first and I'm looking forward to using those again too!

ceruleansky · 31/01/2024 02:50

@CB2805
Omg twins, how exciting!! I'm sure your bump will be visible soon!

@MrsHousePlant
Thank you!!!
Yeah, I know what you mean! I think most people show around 18+ weeks

CB2805 · 31/01/2024 10:10

@ceruleansky i can’t wait😂

ladies does any of you straggle with heartburn? If so how you manage it? It appears every evening in my case and won’t let go till I go to sleep

bringmearainbow · 31/01/2024 10:17

@ceruleansky there's def no denying I'm pregnant 😂 belly popped out about 13 weeks good and proper but this is my 6th pregnancy so I think everything's well stretched out in there 😂

@CB2805 love heart sweets are good for heartburn if you can't stomach gaviscon. I've only had a few mild cases of it and not at night time. I know if it's really bad the doctor can prescribe you omeprozole

Cattattack · 31/01/2024 10:41

So I had my 16 week scan on Monday, one thing the midwife taught me, which you might find interesting is where to locate the womb!

I laid on my back and felt from above my tummy button (which felt mostly squidgy 😆) and started feeling downwards in light pressing motions. Not far below my belly button I felt a 'hard shelf' which is the top of the womb! Which they called the fundus (they locate that when using the doppler to check the heartbeat).

As our pregnancies progress we should feel that hard shelf get higher and higher as baby grows and gets bigger. Was good to know!

ceruleansky · 31/01/2024 11:04

@CB2805
Iced cold water and cold milk helped me!

@bringmearainbow
Did you say 6th!? You could write a book on pregnancy for us first timers who haven't a clue! Have all of them been similar or different?

@Cattattack
That's interesting! I remember telling my husband that the area few inches below my navel has gotten so hard, even though from the outside it looks like bloat, when you touch it, you can feel the difference, yes!

missmoosh · 31/01/2024 11:10

Hey all! Glad to hear everyones pregnancies are progressing. I'm probably just over thinking, but have had hyperemesis this whole time, and now at 14+4, I have had 2 days of no puking and minimal nausea.. I know it can ease off around now, but the sudden change has me all panicked lol. We have an early gender scan in just over a week, so trying to hold off getting a scan until then, but a bit in my head now!

AnonymousXXIX · 31/01/2024 12:29

@CB2805 I get super bad heartburn when I lie on my left side (?!). Last pregnancy I took tablets for it that I just got at the supermarket, not fancy brand ones. And I drank a lot of hot chocolate, because milk helps! (I don't love drinking milk, and I make my hot chocolate myself with good cacao and barely any sugar, or 'fake' sugar to keep the calories low.)

ceruleansky · 31/01/2024 14:17

Anyone still having period cramps after 14 weeks? I'm really worried, the pain has increased the past week. Hoping everything's OK.. I get stretchy pains too but those feel different. This is just period cramps which I'm not so sure of. :( trying not to imagine the worst.

bringmearainbow · 31/01/2024 15:20

@ceruleansky I lost 4 so only a pro at the first trimester 🙈 they were all very different. Tbh this has been my hardest one yet in terms of symptoms my son was a breeze compared to this pregnancy 😂

ceruleansky · 31/01/2024 15:51

@bringmearainbow
I'm sorry to hear that, I think I misunderstood what you meant.
I understand, I've heard the first pregnancy is usually easier. We're here to endure this together!! 😅❤️

Nocoffeenotalkie · 31/01/2024 17:44

@CB2805 I get heartburn. I've been using Gaviscon. Had dreadful heartburn in my first too.

I get cold sores sometimes but since around 9weeks I have only had 3 days without one 😳 so fed up. This definitely didn't happen with my daughter.
