Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@MrsHousePlant
I have the same problem with water, but iced water seems to taste better. Literally water with melting ice in it. Not just cold..
Ice chips and lollies too.

Amberellaella · 28/01/2024 07:09

@MrsHousePlant me too! I’ve been bulk buying orange high juice from Sainsburys, I’m sure the checkout people think I run a school or something 😂

MrsHousePlant · 28/01/2024 09:05

@ceruleansky ooh I might give that a go and see if it helps!

@Amberellaella this thread makes me feel so much better about all the weird things pregnancy throws our way. Glad I’m not the only one 😂

Yummum19 · 28/01/2024 16:23

Is anyone else getting pregnancy rage? I’ve just read through and seen some of you have been feeling emotional, but I seem to be the opposite and just get overly irritated/annoyed at silly little things. I can recognise it now but at the time it’s like my anger just takes over. I’m being really short with DH and hoping this won’t last until July!

TooHappyToday · 28/01/2024 16:59

Not irritated at DP but definitely at work! Having my camera off in some meetings as my facial expressions are super easy to read!

wannabe123 · 28/01/2024 19:15

I definitely get the rage!

justanotherlaura · 28/01/2024 22:26

I had my gender scan today, it's another boy. A little disappointed as it would have been lovely to have one of each and we're definitely only having the two.

We were expecting it though, everyone in our families either has boys or girls, no one has a mix, just hoped we'd be the ones to buck the trend haha

Absolutely can sympathise this with - some guy got out his car and knocked my side door without realising - he felt my wrath!! Then on the way home I cried my heart out about how my car door could be slightly scuffed from it 😥

Vittoriosa · 29/01/2024 07:01

Congratulations! I understand how you are feeling. I have 2 boys and with this one nervous to find out. However I keep telling myself how much I love my boys to bits and wouldn’t change them. I think if I’m honest with myself the only reason I would slightly prefer a girl is to dress them in pink, girly stuff. Which I know deep down is silly!

Vittoriosa · 29/01/2024 07:02

And yes to the pregnancy rage!! Although I am quite prone to that at the time of the month anyway 😂🙈

Jadeandblue · 29/01/2024 10:05

17 weeks now... love this picture from our scan ❤️

Yummum19 · 29/01/2024 10:12

Glad to know it’s not just me with the rage!

I’m also nervous to find out the sex. I, of course, will be over the moon either way, but deep down I really do want another girl (I have one of each already). We have a girls name picked out already, which I LOVE and as this is our last, will be our last chance to use it. We were planning on not finding out, but now with my scan 2 weeks away, I’m wondering whether I should find out so that I can have more time to process it if it’s a boy.

ps, I hope that comes across in the right way. Like I say, I will be thrilled either way of course!

Yummum19 · 29/01/2024 10:13

@Jadeandblue what a lovely scan photo! ❤️

ExpectantEs · 29/01/2024 11:14

@Jadeandblue So cute!! 🤍

Nocoffeenotalkie · 29/01/2024 18:02

@Yummum19 I understand. I have a girl but we have a two bed house so I'm also hoping for another girl as logistically, it makes life easier. However, a healthy baby is the wish no matter the gender.

Julymumtobe · 29/01/2024 19:29

Anyone else experiencing light headedness and feeling like they’re going to pass out? I’ve really struggled today, just wanted to lie down in a dark room all day. Still throwing up daily and nausea for most of the day. Where is the 2nd trimester glow and energy?! 🤣

BananaHammock23 · 29/01/2024 20:42

@Yummum19 omg I feel exactly the same but have been afraid to admit it! I'm 17 weeks now and haven't found out the sex (we didn't with my first either). I have a son an and would really love a girl. I'm scared to find out the sex because I don't want to feel disappointed if it's a boy, but I know when they're born and I find out what they are I won't care either way, I'll just be so happy they're here and safe. This is another IVF pregnancy after an ectopic too so I feel so lucky to be pregnant that I don't want to seem ungrateful saying this!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 29/01/2024 21:20

@Julymumtobe i was in the first trimester kept having to take breaks if I was cleaning etc as I’d get so dizzy - it’s settled now but I’m also on iron tablets as I was a bit anaemic at my booking bloods so not sure if that’s what’s made the difference - I definitely notice my brain fog is worse if I’ve missed a dose of iron.

BunBun221 · 29/01/2024 23:09

No glow here - I'm a spotty, exhausted mess suffering from incredibly dry skin, peeling lips, nausea and the start of PGP!

Something I had to come to terms with in my first pregnancy was that it's okay and healthy to acknowledge certain things without feeling the need to justify them. We have a gorgeous little boy now who we wouldn't change for the world but we were disappointed initially at the gender scan as we both were hoping for a girl. We felt so upset by the fact we felt disappointed because it seemed like we should just be grateful!

HollyMay88 · 30/01/2024 08:23

Hey jumping on this thread - congratulations to everyone here! I’m 17 weeks and just wondering if anyone has felt movements yet? This is my 3rd baby and I’m not sure if I’ve felt movement or not.

midwife was reluctant to do heartbeat at appointment as she said they don’t do it anymore as new practice says we need to rely on baby movements instead as a minute heartbeat doesn’t tell anything about how baby is developing. Anyone else heard this? Made me paranoid about movements now!!

Bluebonnet3 · 30/01/2024 08:56

Welcome to the group and congrats @HollyMay88 !

I'm also 17 weeks, and this is my second, and I haven't felt any movements yet. The first pregnancy I didn't feel anything until around 20 or so weeks, possibly because I had an anterior placenta. This time I have a posterior placenta and I know what the movements feel like, so I'm hoping to feel something soon!

ceruleansky · 30/01/2024 09:22

Hi guys, can anyone tell if its a boy or a girl?

Morningcoffeeaddict · 30/01/2024 12:01

@HollyMay88 congrats and welcome! I’m only 15weeks but don’t think I’ve felt anything yet really. I’m sure it was more like 20weeks with my son. I also thought the midwives said movements aren’t uniform enough to use to confirm all is ok until 28weeks? The guidance is always so confusing!

@ceruleansky I'm by no means an expert but I’d guess that’s a little boy - interested to see what others think.

bringmearainbow · 30/01/2024 12:10

@HollyMay88 I haven't felt any movements yet I'm 17+3 I have an anterior placenta so not expecting anything for a few more weeks. Think I didn't feel any until 23 weeks with my DS.

@ceruleansky I would also guess boy. Will you find out?

I think I'm having another boy 💙 but we are leaving it a surprise

ceruleansky · 30/01/2024 12:50

@bringmearainbow @Morningcoffeeaddict
Aww, thanks guys!
We're not going to find out, I thought it was a girl because I didn't see anything down there in the first two photos.
I'm secretly hoping for a boy but soo excited for either. 🥰
