Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@Morningcoffeeaddict could you try sitting on a pregnancy/yoga ball for some of the day? I ended up working from home for the last few weeks last time and found I was much less stiff after meetings if I was in my ball.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 26/01/2024 17:48

@ceruleansky - thank you!

@wannabe123 - I do have a pregnancy ball, I can’t remember when I got it out last time. Main reason I haven’t yet is our house is on the market (although we may abandon that plan now I’m pregnant) and I worry about the ball making the house look a mess for viewings, silly really!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 26/01/2024 18:21

Is anyone still dealing with food aversions in the second trimester? I'm almost 15 weeks now and thought they'd go in second trimester but they seem to be worse. Couldn't face the lamb pasta I made yesterday or the fish today. Still can't drink hot drinks. Woke up at 5am feeling nauseous and had to get up and eat Weetabix.
I don't remember this from my first pregnancy but it was over 10 years ago. Waiting for my "glow".

glasshalffull0 · 26/01/2024 18:28

@Nocoffeenotalkie im 17 weeks and I’m still the same! It’s really random too, I had salmon for tea the other week and was fine but now the thought of it makes my skin crawl. And spinach and broccoli too, I forced it down me in the first trimester to try and get some nutrients and threw it straight back up- I think I’m going to be put off for life!

Amberellaella · 26/01/2024 18:43

@Nocoffeenotalkie and @glasshalffull0 same here. I’m a vegetarian; baby is apparently a carnivore. It is all very confusing. We agree on cheese and Greek yoghurt, so I am getting very fat 😂

…and I’m 16 weeks…

wannabe123 · 26/01/2024 18:57

@Morningcoffeeaddict I didn't use mine last time until about 30 weeks because it was a Christmas present but this year it's already out after a long car journey wrecked my hips! I think having a house on the market is a reason to not have it out yet!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 26/01/2024 20:11

@wannabe123 i don’t blame you. I have been thinking about it quite a bit - it’s a shame they’re not easy to get out and put back away, they’re either out on not. I’ve got a wobble cushion on my office chair that I hoped would do the same job without taking up as much space but it’s not quite doing the trick.

Vittoriosa · 26/01/2024 20:13

Is anyone else feeling super hormonal/emotional? I burst into tears over an email today in work then tonight I started crying at an episode of junior bake off I was watching with my son!! Feel like I can feel the hormones coursing through my veins 😂16 weeks on Sun

CB2805 · 26/01/2024 21:10

@Vittoriosa im in the same boat! I can cry about anything and get super frustrated about the smallest thing, but then last day my partner lost my phone at the hospital on our appointment and all midwifes were looking for it and I didn’t even flinch like I didn’t care AT ALL🤣 it’s mad what hormones can do!

ladies got a question, so my consultant requested a scan for CL due to some concerns from my IVF clinic at the beginning, but I haven’t received a date yet. Who do you think I should contact to follow up?

Morningcoffeeaddict · 26/01/2024 21:26

@Vittoriosa yes! Full ugly crying at a podcast earlier this week. I’ve also sobbed because I was hungry but didn’t want anything in the fridge - ridiculous!

@CB2805 have you got a contact for your consultant’s secretary? Could try via them else I’d go with the midwife or the antenatal clinic I think?

Vittoriosa · 26/01/2024 22:08

😂😂 glad it is not just me then!! I can totally get the hunger crying too! 😅

Jess725 · 26/01/2024 22:14

@Nocoffeenotalkie i can’t handle hot drinks still either. No tea since week 6! Eeeek!

ceruleansky · 27/01/2024 00:50

@Vittoriosa
Yes, bring pregnant frequently makes me think about my childhood and I cry! I also cried when my husband spilled some food accidently. Also while getting my weekly injections and pitied myself for a minute on why I have to go through this, then I thought about people who had it worse (like kids with cancer) and cried even more.
I've just come to accept that feeling abnormal, uneasy, sick is the new normal. My discomfort is required to make the baby grow apparently! Oh, the joys of pregnancy! 🤣

ceruleansky · 27/01/2024 06:34

The craziest thing happened :/ so i did NT scan and screening blood test on Tuesday and I had taken my weekly hcg injection on Monday.
In the NT screening test, they check for hcg values. Obviously, it was elevated because I had taken the injection just the previous day. And that's why my NT blood report showed a possibility of risk fow Down's in the biochemistry.
Nobody told us that we aren't supposed to take the NT test soon after getting hcg injections.

Anyway, we have decided to go with a NIPT just to rule out any confusion and we just want to close this chapter. Got to see the baby 3 days in a row, I guess that was the upside.

BunBun221 · 27/01/2024 14:15

@Morningcoffeeaddict my wobble cushion saved me in my last pregnancy! I really struggled with PGP with my first after a fall in the kitchen so I'm actually quite excited to get it out again as I'm already getting pgp in my pubis area!

Amberellaella · 27/01/2024 14:23

@Morningcoffeeaddict you could just get the ball out and lob it into the back of the car when you have a viewing 😂

Morningcoffeeaddict · 27/01/2024 14:29

@Amberellaella the back of the car is full of my sons toys already (trying to avoid the trip hazard for viewers - ha!). Our house was so neat (and felt a lot more spacious) before we became parents.

@BunBun221 I do normally like the wobble cushion but this week it hasn’t touched the sides. I felt a better this morning so obviously I’ve totally overdone it - afternoon nap in order I hope

Vittoriosa · 27/01/2024 17:28

This makes me feel so much better 😂 Have just cancelled dinner out because i feel a bit nauseous and tired. I am not a canceller! But as you say we need to just do what we need to do for baby to grow

MixedCouple · 27/01/2024 17:42

15 weeks and still can't even look at coffee! Only just got back to drinking some tea... Ish.

glasshalffull0 · 27/01/2024 19:21

@Vittoriosa oh god yes! Sometimes it's really deep stuff like things I had blocked out from my childhood where my mum made questionable parenting choices (I had a good childhood overall but I think my mum suffered from depression that she never sought help for)

Sometimes it's really random things, my partner was watching the Ipswich vs Maidstone football match earlier and I cried because Maidstone had won and all their fans and players were so happy! My partner looked at my like I had 3 heads!

TooHappyToday · 27/01/2024 19:44

I’m still off fish (didn’t eat red meat or chicken pre pregnancy) and plain water! And strong smelling perfumes or soaps.

My nausea had got better but has come back as I’ve starting antibiotics for a UTI and they are making me feel sick! Hoping to feel a little bit back to normal soon.

CMRC17 · 27/01/2024 20:07

@Julymumtobe perfect thank you for this! I have researched stretchy ones, I think I’m the same and would rather replace it than have it close up. Going to order one soon I think !

MrsHousePlant · 27/01/2024 21:32

@TooHappyToday I've been off plain water too! I’m keeping my local shops in business with the amount of squash I’m getting through a week because I need it extra strong to get rid of the ‘water’ taste 😂 never had a problem pre pregnancy and always drank loads of it.
