Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@User491 I know I bet the worry will never end😅
I just had a private scan yesterday and I will 100% had more until the 20week scan🤣 just waiting for my appointment with the consultant next week hoping that he may suggest any monitoring due to the bleeds.

so my sonographer last day was way over excited and she said that 90% we having a boy and a girl which after looking at my scan pictures seems like it🫶🏻 we always wanted to do a gender revile without us knowing but I guess that won’t work out😅
how about you? Have you got any idea or a feeling?

btw our dates are matching so much🫶🏻

User491 · 18/01/2024 12:26

@CB2805 I really hope they do, and then it will help settle you a bit more.
I've got all my scan appointments on my app now.. every 4 weeks after 20 weeks, I will also have 2 midwife appointments, one at the hospital after each scan, and then one at the normal stages with the community midwife.. are you the same?
They've put me on aspirin, and told me I will need injections from week 24 too.

Aww that's amazing for one of each.. not so much that it's potentially ruined the surprise haha! You don't know for definite, so I would still do your reveal ☺️
I don't think we are going to officially find out if I can resist, but looking at nub theory, I think we have one of each also 🥰
Ohh I know, so lovely to be so close dates wise.. we can keep each other sane ❤️

CB2805 · 18/01/2024 13:01

@User491 so far only things booked for me is the appointment with consultant next week, community midwife at around 16w and then the 20w scan.
wow no one has mentioned so far anything about medication which is scary! Tbh I’m on progesterone already as I’m an IVF pregnancy but nothing assigned from NHS so far.
did you meet already with your consultant?
you having one of each as well❤️ we honestly twining so much so far😂
are u excited about one of each? I’m as I always wanted a boy and my DH secretly a girl🤭

Morningcoffeeaddict · 18/01/2024 14:41

Finally had my 12 week scan! Brought my dates forward a bit, I’m measuring 13+2 so looking at due 23 July!

it always surprises me how much the little things are getting up to in there while we’re just going around sometimes forgetting we’re even pregnant - poor sonographer had a nightmare trying to get her measurements. Got a good potty shot though and husband and I both pretty convinced it’s another boy - I guess we’ll find out though as technically it’s too soon to tell still.

User491 · 18/01/2024 19:05

@CB2805 they said due to it being twins and IVF and it's a caution for preeclampsia, however; since my last round of IVF my bmi has gone up over the 30 mark, so unsure if that's an added risk and why they have decided to get me on them. You maybe won't need it, so don't stress. But won't be any harm is asking your consultant next week.
I've not met a consultant yet, just 2 midwives. No ones actually even mentioned me seeing a consultant tbh, so I'm not sure if I will have one 🙈
Haha, I know; it's so lovely to have someone going through the same thing, at the same time 🥰
Yeh I think one of each would be lovely, and it's then like the perfect mix isn't it ❤️
We are the opposite I've always wanted a girl, my DH a boy, but happy for either ☺️
Made me all excited today talking about them haha!

CB2805 · 18/01/2024 19:56

@User491 i think you should ask about the consultant thing. I believe all twin pregnancies and especially IVF ones are led my consultant.
ive had quite a few surgeries in the past and they expect lots of scar tissue so an early birth plan needs doing. In my case is 100% C-section to be sure about the safety of babies.
I honestly hope I will get some reassurance from my consultant next week🤞
I’ve done IVF abroad so my fertility doctor went through all the risks in my case and the twins throughout the way. The only thing that he’s worried about is cervical length and to start checking it from 16weeks and onwards on weekly basis, I know that’s kind of unrealistic for NHS so I’m curious to hear what my consultant will say about that.
I know right I think all this chat today made me to not overthink about everything and just enjoy it for a bit❤️

User491 · 19/01/2024 08:30

@CB2805 thank you, I 100% will discuss it with my midwife when I next see her.
Great thank you will get a plan in place, I'm sure your consultant will be on the ball with you!
Where abroad did you go for treatments? It sounds like they were fantastic!
If it's been a recommendation, I assume you consultant will be likely to follow that, or at least compromise in some way so that you feel supported and confident 🥰

So pleased it's taken your mind off the worry a little. I keep just thinking each day at a time. The weeks will absolutely fly by for us all ❤️

CB2805 · 19/01/2024 09:29

@User491 weve done treatment in Greece. Tbh we’re originally from there as well so it made things million times easier. My consultant there is absolutely amazing, I wish I could have him here😭
the beautiful thing is Greece is if you get pregnant via IVF your consultant deals with everything scans, monitoring even birth so you just deal with one person and it’s so more comfy. you even have their personal phone number to harass them with your worries😂

ceruleansky · 19/01/2024 13:26

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Congratulations on your scan going well!! Hope you're doing well!
Mine is on Tuesday. I'll be exactly 13 weeks then.

Today has been one of the tougher days. I don't know why baby is making me so uncomfortable. Lot of flutters and rolls? down there accompanied by the worst cramps, nausea and dizziness. I fell asleep during one of my work calls and didn't even realize!

MrsHousePlant · 19/01/2024 13:53

I had a couple of days this week where I felt like I was turning a corner but I’m so tired again today and feel a bit nauseous.

Ooh @ceruleansky that’s so exciting if you’re starting to feel things. I can’t wait until I’m more aware of baby, even though I’m sure I’ll regret that when the proper kicking starts 😂

ceruleansky · 19/01/2024 14:00

@MrsHousePlant
I know what you mean. Hope we cross this awful stage sooner than later. I was really expecting everything to get better immediately after 12 weeks but was I wrong!!
I usually feel something at one spot slightly off centre. It's usually pain that comes and goes like a pulse. But today it felt like a roll or tumble. 🤣 I was taken aback by that.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 19/01/2024 15:54

@ceruleansky how exciting that you’re starting to feel baby move! Sometimes I think I can but I’m not sure and then on the scan baby was properly kicking me and I felt nothing. Sorry you’re still feeling rough! I’m trying to avoid scheduling work calls in the afternoon as I slump so badly but I can’t always get away with it - haven’t fallen asleep yet though, new fear unlocked for me!

TooHappyToday · 19/01/2024 16:04

I had the NIPT where I could have found out the sex. I’m pretty sure I want to wait to find out, but still looking at nub theory posts to see which one looks like mine!!

ceruleansky · 19/01/2024 16:05

@Morningcoffeeaddict
I don't know if it's really the baby but I'm assuming that anything that isn't period cramps is probably the baby and I've never felt these sensations in my life so!!

Wow, that's amazing, isn't it? Were you able to see the arms and legs already? I wish I could just watch my baby on a monitor all day lol.

Luckily I don't think I was addressed during the call.. new fear indeed! Usually, my team is quite flexible. I let them know when I need an hour or two off and I make it up the same day or the next. Working from home has been a blessing.

BTW, I've been meaning to ask based on your username, what ever happened to your coffee addiction? 😀 Are you able to still have it? Sometimes I miss drinking it, it's been 3 months :(

Morningcoffeeaddict · 19/01/2024 16:13

@ceruleansky - haha, easier this time around than the first time - before my pregnancy with my son I’d have had 5 coffees by about 11am in the office but since this is my second time cutting down it’s not so bad. You can still have one and I’m drinking a lot of the azera decaf, it’s not really the same but it’s taking the edge off 😂.

On the scan - yes to arms and legs! You can properly see baby putting the boot in in this picture and you can just about see an arm with hand on baby’s face? It’s brother also used to have his hands on his face in scans too (and sleeps that way now) so it was sweet to see that!

Due July 24 - Part 2
Welshgal85 · 19/01/2024 21:15

Hi 👋 Can I join please?

Originally thought I was due early August but just had my first scan and new date is 28th July! 🥰

How is everyone doing? x

ceruleansky · 20/01/2024 03:00

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Oh wow 🤣 I understand. I've heard coffee also helps with nausea and tiredness during pregnancy. I'll probably have it after a while. Right now I'm very into black cardamom tea for some reason.

Omg what a cute little sweetheart!! Such a treasure to be able to hold onto their photo. Aww, i love babies scrunching up to sleep. How old is your son?

@Welshgal85
Welcome!! Congratulations on your little one!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 20/01/2024 07:03

@ceruleansky - oh I hadn’t heard that, I’d heard of people just going off it completely which I have with tea but coffee is still a comfort blanket even without the caffeine!

He’s 3.5yo so will be just 4 when baby 2 comes along. It’s quite nice as he sort of understands what’s going on and we can talk to him about it. He has always been the cutest asleep - non-stop when he’s awake though!

@Welshgal85 - welcome and congrats!

pleasehelp5 · 20/01/2024 21:53

Evening all!

I hope you're all doing well and not suffering too much at the moment. Just wondering has anyone been able to purchase non see through maternity leggings? I'm pretty tall - 6ft 2" and tried a few tall maternity leggings but they all seem to be so expensive but also so see through. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and by some ones that are going to be too short for me - I see so many adds pop up on social media, has anyone got any yet they can recommend please that are just standard? But not see through so I don't have to wear a long top.
Tia x

MrsHousePlant · 20/01/2024 21:54

@pleasehelp5 I’ve just ordered some from Lovall after a recommendation from a friend so I’ll report back when they arrive! They do different lengths for every size.

Oooo thanks for the tip! Just had a look and saw they did extra tall!! And they say about the non see throughness! Amazing thank you x

MrsHousePlant · 20/01/2024 22:18

@pleasehelp5 No worries!! I found a discount code by googling too 😊

Outliers · 21/01/2024 01:41

Hi all, had my first ever scan on Tuesday, due date brought forward to July 22. I'll be 14 weeks on Monday. Was very sobering seeing the baby, looks totally different to the scans of my first child.

At one point my husband and I thought we saw a penis. Admittedly I quickly went down the gender confirming rabbit hole. Some nub assessors guessed boy, except one photo looked like a girl. But now I've been told the female nub is probably the cord.

Anyway, told the first person, my mum, today - which was a lovely and fun experience. Due to an administrative error my first child flagged as a risk for down syndrome, and then T13, which created a period of anxiety and stress - so when I told my mum it wasn't a celebratory experience.

Keen to know what we're having but I suppose everyone is. Child looks healthy, that's most important thing as always.

Cherubs4 · 21/01/2024 10:19

Hi everyone, have tried to catch up with the most recent posts. Seems we're all feeling more second trimester-y. Exciting the sets of twins in the group! We had a scan 2 weeks ago and found out we're having a boy. The doppler went on and the open legs swung into view and there it was - we weren't even sure if we wanted to know!
Curious as to how your bumps are coming along - I feel like I've not grown much in the past few weeks although tried to wear my partners hoody this morning and it's too tight around the waist so it seems I'm growing more side-ways than out the way.
17 weeks now.

CB2805 · 21/01/2024 11:36

@Cherubs4 I’m 14w and I can’t see a bump in the view😅 I’m getting bigger nothing fits me and most pj are already uncomfortable but I’ve seen at this point lots of ladies having lovely bumps and I’m not near that😂
