Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

Is anyone active on the FB group? I requested to join last week but haven't been accepted yet. In my last pregnancy I found everyone migrated from Mumsnet to there

I would say there's like 3 people active in the group, more people talk on here. There's no where for me to accept people on there x

User491 · 17/01/2024 08:09

I think I've managed to copy the link, I'm unsure how long it lasts though..

I don't use Facebook 🙃

Hope everyone is having smooth and pleasant pregnancies, as we settle into 2nd trimester.

I had my first scan yesterday, measured 13weeks1 with due date at July 22nd. Was a relief to see baby moving and healthy.

I know it's very silly to consider at this stage, but if there are any skull and nub experts on here, would really appreciate your views (https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/4986704-gendernub-guesses-3pics).

Hi, Just for one ladies, of course most important thing is that baby is healthy and happy. What would guess based on the pictures below? 13+1 based...

missmoosh · 17/01/2024 10:53

Hi, update scan went well, due date now the 27th July 😊😊

ceruleansky · 17/01/2024 11:12

Congratulations on the positive scan updates!!

Does anyone else feel like they cannot do their "everything" shower anymore? I started feeling dizzy mid way through my everything shower and had to rinse off, dry myself and lie down lol.

Julymumtobe · 17/01/2024 11:15

Hi all I had sickness and constant nausea quite badly from 7-12 weeks. The last couple of weeks I felt a lot better with waves of nausea and much less vomiting. However the last few days it’s come back full force and I feel constantly sick and am struggling eating and drinking again. I’m mentally finding it harder this time as I thought now I’m 14+ 4 I would be on the home straight feeling better every day. Has anyone else had this and is it likely to stay or go again?
The hardest part is struggling to get anything done at work which then makes me feel more stressed which is probably making it worse.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 17/01/2024 11:48

Excellent news on the positive scan updates!

@ceruleansky - I’ve switched to having more baths but in my case it’s more that I’m so tired by the end of the day I can’t muster the energy to stand in the shower and sitting down appeals. If you’re getting dizzy is the shower maybe a bit on the hot side? That’s the main thing that would make me dizzy in the past, slighter cooler might be better for you?

AnonymousXXIX · 17/01/2024 12:21

@ceruleansky yeah, it is getting better now, but the past month the smell of my shampoo nearly made me vomit every time I attempted to wash my hair lol. (I do that once a week, plus face scrub, shave, etc.) I tend to shower pretty quick and not too hot though, so that aspect is fine.

ceruleansky · 17/01/2024 12:37

@Julymumtobe
My nausea also peaked so late, IDK why but it gets better :( hope you feel better soon.

@Morningcoffeeaddict
That's a good point, a bath sounds so much better. Unfortunately we only have 2 showers and no tub. Ive been meaning to get a portable one. You're right, I usually take hot showers, nothing too crazy but yeah there's steam. I'll try reducing the temp.

@AnonymousXXIX
Hope you're feeling better and that it doesn't bother you anymore!! I shower quick too, I've stopped going to the salon to get waxed because my friends have freaked me out regarding getting infected ?? so I have to shave in installments lol. Leg day, arm day, sometimes it's half a leg day if I can't make it through the whole leg 😭

Morningcoffeeaddict · 17/01/2024 13:53

@ceruleansky - I don’t blame you. Especially with how cold it is at the moment I’d love to be having proper hot showers but I have found turning the temp down a bit stops me getting dizzy. The laziness does still make me want to sit down though - I suspect I’d get stuck trying that in a shower unit though!

User491 · 17/01/2024 14:07

I had my scan yesterday, was 12+6. Both babies are fine 🥰 it was so incredible to see ❤️
They've caught up too which is good as they had been behind on all my other scans (not sure how relevant it is) but they've moved my EDD forward 22/7/24.

they couldn't do the NT measurements as they were in awkward positions/kept moving!
I've got all my dates now on my app, there's a lot more than I imagined. From 20 weeks I will get scans every 4 weeks, and I also have my own midwife I see, and a midwife at the hospital which I will also see every 4 weeks too, that's from 16 weeks. Think with all these appointments it will fly in 😂
I've been put on aspirin from yesterday, and I think she said from 24 weeks I will need anti-coagulation injections, but they will discuss that at further appointments. I'm higher risk of preeclampsia with it being IVF and twins.

Nice to have my mind settled for the moment though, and looking forward to my midwife app on 8th Feb 🥰

trebuvie · 17/01/2024 14:27

Lovely to see all the positive scans! @missmoosh we have the same EDD! And congrats and welcome @Roxystar23, that must have been such a relief!

We've just moved into a new place that does have a tub, but the previous occupants had the water temp on the boiler down to some dreadful lukewarm setting. Project for today is to try to figure this out... My partner is terrified that a very hot bath will boil the baby but I just want it to not be lukewarm after 5 minutes!

BunBun221 · 17/01/2024 17:21

I wonder what the weirdest pregnancy symptoms are?

This is my second and I definitely have different symptoms this time around but there are some similarities.

So my weird symptoms between both pregnancies are:
I've had excessive full body sneezing fits (im talking literally 10 or so in a row with no cold or anything)
Inability to hop on one leg
Super dry, bleeding, cracked lips every morning after waking up
Being able to smell my own bogies (sorry for tmi - this is really bothering me right now)

Do others have weird ones to add to the list?

Vittoriosa · 17/01/2024 18:02

smelling your own bogies 😂

this time mine have been:

  • swearing i can feel my organs move and getting strange feelings inside sometimes when I bend over like something has just popped out of place
  • spotting after a poo

the joys!!

missmoosh · 17/01/2024 18:03

@BunBun221 oh definitely with you on the sneezing! I can't stop sneezing!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 17/01/2024 19:53

@BunBun221 also sneezing and the super dry lips - they’re so sore it’s awful. I’ve also been through so many brands of lip balm trying to find one that works!

I’ll add that my normally dead straight hair has gone curly seemingly overnight!

CB2805 · 17/01/2024 20:14

@Morningcoffeeaddict oh those dry lips are killing me as well. Like I’ve been left in the dessert without water!
only thing that has helped so far is lip scrubs at least daily!

BunBun221 · 17/01/2024 20:28

@missmoosh@Morningcoffeeaddict the sneezing is an absolute nightmare! I have a cold now so I'm sneezing even more but I've been sneezing basically since 6 weeks. 😭 They're so embarrassingly over the top and now, I either have the worst pelvic floor or my uterus is now sitting on my bladder it's so hard not to pee when I sneeze!!

@Morningcoffeeaddict@CB2805 I've found that blistex helps (midwife approved) if I lather my lips before bed! If I forget though I end up with lips that are peeling like a blooming snake 🤣

Morningcoffeeaddict · 17/01/2024 20:41

@CB2805 @BunBun221 - I’ve found Carmex does the trick (when I remember to use it) - it hadn’t occurred to me to ask a midwife about it if I’m honest.

The sneezing is driving me mad as well - also feel like I need to prep my pelvic floor before they hit to prevent accidents - ha!

SaP89 · 17/01/2024 21:31

Hi all, new Mumsnet posted.
13+2 and due 22nd July.
First baby and tbh I've been an anxious wreck since I found out - had lots of friends who've had MCs so been worried something would go wrong. Had our dating scan on Monday and all good and healthy so now trying to feel more positive and less anxious!!
Been really sick and nauseous the last 4 weeks and super tired so hoping some of that eases off but happy for the symptoms to be a good sign at the same time!

CB2805 · 17/01/2024 22:15

Ladies did your measurements were ever behind ? Had a private scan today I’m 13+5 but twin A was measuring 13+4 and twin B 13+0. I had lots of scans so far due to various reasons and twin A was always spot on and twin B 2 days back.
Sonographer mentioned that twin B was a bit curled up so not easy to measure and to not worry. But I can’t help it it seems weird as it’s the first time that I’m having off measurements.

User491 · 18/01/2024 08:20

@CB2805 mine have been all the way (varied days each scan) through until this recent scan, I wouldn't worry about it, especially when they have said that one of the babies was curled up, that would make a difference.

How are you feeling otherwise, has it sunk in with you yet? I still feel like I have to remind myself 😂 I thought I would feel very pregnant by this point.

I'm cautiously starting to look at things to buy, and I have no idea where to start, especially when there is going to be two 😬😂

CB2805 · 18/01/2024 10:06

@User491 i know I shouldn’t worry although bc im still bleeding some brown cant rest my mind. Every dc and sonographer I’ve seen so far they have no worries at all but I can’t help it😞

im okey, it’s a rollercoaster sometimes I’m so excited that they’re two and sometimes I’m a bit scared for the future tbh😂
I thought the same thing but I think im not even showing yet at 13+6 and it’s crazy. And im feeling pretty good for a twin pregnancy, I didn’t had any nausea throughout just a horrible exhaustion which varies with days now.

I want to start to do some research as well of what to buy for twins especially for bedside sleeping at beginning (if you have any hints pls share them as I’m clueless still😅)

User491 · 18/01/2024 10:16

@CB2805 bless you, I completely understand the added worry when you're still bleeding. I hope it's stops soon and you can start to enjoy it. However, I have no bleeding and I'm still worried 😬
Have you got another scan planned? I'm thinking of getting one at around 16 weeks approx

I feel completely out of my depth! I've requested to join a group on Facebook so hoping that offers some help 😂 I'm classed as 13+3 today after my dates changed slightly. I had mild nausea but not bad at all. The tiredness has been awful though, and it's not gone yet either 😂

I feel bloated/heavier and can feel clothes are a bit tighter, but it's more just a bloat defo not a bump 🙈

Are you going to find out what you're having?
