Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

Ladies when did you start/ planning to start to use your pregnancy pillows?
im only 13weeks but sleeping it’s so uncomfortable can’t find a spot that feels nice😞
although im thinking it’s a way too early for a pillow😅

Surprisedbuthappy · 15/01/2024 21:56

@CB2805 I got my pillow about a week ago (at 13 weeks)! Although I always sleep cuddling a normal pillow anyway! I know it's early but I've been suffering with sciatica and I thought it might help with that. In fact, it has eased quite a lot since, but I don't know if it's because of the pillow or not.

ExpectantEs · 15/01/2024 22:09

Was having a lovely evening & was just about to jump in the shower when I spotted little white dots on my nipples (sorry if TMI). I investigated and they started to peel and drop off - almost little white scabs. Left tiny little dents on my nipples

Google says this might already be Colostrum? Anyone else seen anything like this

Oneeightoneoh · 15/01/2024 22:13

@ExpectantEs I've had this! They come and go, more predominant on one nipple though, I don't remember this from my last pregnancy so I was worried at first haha

ExpectantEs · 15/01/2024 22:19

Yes same! It was only on my right nipple - my other nipple was unaffected. My sister said it's normal and it's going to happen for the whole pregnancy. I think our bodies are preparing us already?? It feels so early lol

MrsHousePlant · 15/01/2024 22:53

@CB2805 I’m nearly 15 weeks and ordered one at the weekend after being infuriated having bad sleep for a few nights 😂 I’m hoping it helps!

Bali200 · 16/01/2024 05:51

@CB2805 I tried mine out for the first time last night at 15 weeks, as I need to try and stop sleeping on my front. Happily went to sleep with it but ended up chucking it on the floor when I woke after a few hours as I felt too hot. Just going to take some getting used to I think!

wannabe123 · 16/01/2024 06:20

@CB2805 I got one for Christmas and have been using it since. I love sleeping on my front but can manage on my side with my pillow.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 16/01/2024 06:48

@CB2805 this is second time round for me so I got mine back out the day I found out I was pregnant - first symptom for me was a sore back which it really helped with but I also sleep on my back a lot so the sooner I can get out of that habit the better. If it makes you more comfortable then go for it I feel - no such thing as too soon!

CB2805 · 16/01/2024 10:19

Thanks ladies I thought I was overdramatic😅 my DH doesn’t understand why I can’t settle in the night as I’m not showing that much yet anyway but hey…
any suggestions for pregnancy pillows?

chilliflakesmum · 16/01/2024 10:22

@CB2805 I bought mine when I was 14 weeks with my son in 2021. I will be honest, I found it a lot more useful after having him (c-section!) as I was using it to protect my scar, put him on to breastfeed, and sleep next to. I've got the Bbhugme. Its one of the expensive ones but so so worth it!! I'm 16 weeks now and started using it again to hug while i sleep 😄

CB2805 · 16/01/2024 10:26

@chilliflakesmum i will be having a c section as well so that’s a great point that you mentioned. I will check it out now thank you🫶🏻

Morningcoffeeaddict · 16/01/2024 13:29

@CB2805 - I’ve got the Dreamgenii one, also quite good - if you switch from one side to the other a lot in the night it can be a bit of a hassle but I suspect a lot of them are? It’s also one you can use for breastfeeding as well but I pumped for my son so don’t know how good it is for that particularly.

justanotherlaura · 16/01/2024 15:24

I just had a cheap corner pillow from ikea but I think I'll treat myself to something nice this time.

I have problems sleeping on my side, I have to switch between side and back even when I'm not pregnant. My midwife said it was safe to sleep on your back as long as you were at about a 45 degree angle, similar to the beds we lie on at midwife and scans. I got a couple extra pillows and it took a week or so to get used to being so propped up but definitely helped me, just wanted to share in case anyone else has the same problem!

Lisao86 · 16/01/2024 16:30

I got a BBhugme pillow a few weeks ago too (currently 15 weeks) and I highly recommend!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 16/01/2024 16:35

This is interesting. Last week, I lost all ability to move my dominant arm. Dr not 100 percent but the acute pain makes him think tendonitis/frozen shoulder. They can't prescribe anything more than codeine and who know how long the "urgent" referral will take for further investigation. Been worried that I cannot sleep on my sides at all due to the debilitating pain if I try. Knowing I can be propped up is some relief.

AnonymousXXIX · 16/01/2024 16:53

Oh yeah, it is on my weekend to do list to wash my BBhugme cover! 13 weeks and very ready for it haha. Edit: used it for breastfeeding as well last time, so found it an alright investment (though got it in a sale ofc).

Kind of struggle because I prefer sleeping on my back, which you can't do from a certain point onward. And I get crazy heartburn on my left in pregnancy. So I am stuck just sleeping on my right :( Currently have a cold, so driving me completely mental.

@ExpectantEs oh I hadn't considered that could be what it is! I thought it was left over milk from stopping breastfeeding a few months ago :o And I have been obsessing over it in the shower, because I am super prone to clogged ducts, and I have been thinking 'they can't possibly be getting clogged already??!!'. (Because I definitely did not have these white spots last pregnancy! No colostrum either, despite halfheartedly trying to harvest some.)

Roxystar23 · 16/01/2024 16:57

Hi!

I'm a long time lurker of this group - I MC'd in August and didn't feel confident (or comfortable) posting about this pregnancy until now. I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow & I had my dating scan today. I can't explain how relieved I was to see a heartbeat and see a baby wriggling around. It finally feels like I can get excited about this pregnancy (although a part of me is still quite anxious). I'm 35 and have an almost 20 month old.

Oneeightoneoh · 16/01/2024 17:53

Is anyone else feeling a bit stressed since getting into the second trimester? Im 15 weeks now and my sickness has subsided (thank god!) But now I'm overthinking NOT feeling sick even though i know its normal!
I've found myself so much more anxious this pregnancy compared to my last one, it's so hard!
I didn't feel any movements until after 20 weeks with my first so just hoping I get movements much earlier this time to ease my mind

glasshalffull0 · 16/01/2024 19:05

@CB2805 I bought a huge cocoon one at 14 weeks- OH thought I was being dramatic but I've always been a stomach or back sleeper and all my muscles in my body were aching every morning because I just couldn't get comfy. Since sleeping with my pregnancy pillow I sleep so much better!

AnonymousXXIX · 16/01/2024 19:11

Hi @Roxystar23, congratulations!

wannabe123 · 16/01/2024 19:48

@Oneeightoneoh yup! My second pregnancy too. I thought I'd felt some kicks at twelve weeks the other week and then haven't felt anything since so then started spiralling. I've got my 16 week appointment a week today so hopefully hearing the heart beat will help.

BananaHammock23 · 16/01/2024 20:38

@Oneeightoneoh I feel exactly the same! With my first pregnancy I was anxious but not this bad. I'm hoping I'll start to feel a bit better when I start to hear movements. It's so hard because I couldn't wait for the sickness to be over but at least then I felt like everything was ok. Counting down the hours to my 16 week midwife appt on Friday to hear the heartbeat!

BananaHammock23 · 16/01/2024 21:00

Is anyone active on the FB group? I requested to join last week but haven't been accepted yet. In my last pregnancy I found everyone migrated from Mumsnet to there

Nocoffeenotalkie · 16/01/2024 23:14

I can't seem to follow the link the group. Doesn't ever take me anywhere 🤷‍♀️
