Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

Hi ladies, so glad everyone’s 12week scans went well🫶🏻
last day I had a pretty bad hemorrhage, I couldn’t bother with EPU(not really happy to have a cervical examination) so went for a private scan. Thank lord babies are fine measuring 12weeks and my cervix was closed.
even tho I had severe bleeding sonographer didn’t refer me to epu or any dr and just advised to speak with my midwife about the bleeding just to make them aware even tho she believed is nothing to worry about(mad if you consider the amount of blood!)
anyway it may be a stupid question but i have no clue how to contact my midwife(I’m not even sure who she is as I changed maternity units after my first appointment), so would be glad if you could give me some advice.
My bleeding tapered off now nothing on sanitary pads but still there when whipping so I think I really need to get in touch with them.

ExpectantEs · 04/01/2024 09:24

@Surprisedbuthappy Yes, I think I have sciatica but not sure. I've had a little dull ache in my left glute for a few weeks but thought I did something wrong in the gym.

Was at home the other day and bent over and suddenly felt a sharp shooting pain in the same area and let out a scream! Was so painful. I believe this must be sciatica but Google said it's meant to be a third trimester thing. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

@BunBun221 Sorry you got that response from your colleague. Hope it all feels a bit more harmonious for you at work again soon

ceruleansky · 04/01/2024 10:01

I'm 10 +3 today and I've been having cramps on and off since week 4 but today it's been happening the whole day. It's a sort of pulsing pain that comes and goes and only at one spot, slightly off centre. Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal? It feels different from the pain I get near the ovaries, during periods. This is closer to the middle.

Also can anyone tell me if the 12 week scan is internal or on the abdomen?

@CB2805
I hope you feel better, that sounds scary I can't imagine how you felt. Glad to hear everything's OK.

CB2805 · 04/01/2024 10:16

@ceruleansky it was honestly one of the worst days of my life, i went into shock constant shaking! Thank god my DH has such mental strength and reassured me all the way out even tho I knew dip down that he was scared as well!

I have a pulling stretching feeling every now and then just in the middle as well since about 5weeks. I think it’s quite normal/ common.

12 week scan is abdominal. They will advise to have full bladder but if you can’t hold it don’t stress out. All my scans since 10w were abdominal and I never had full bladder and sonographer never had an issue.

ceruleansky · 04/01/2024 10:32

@CB2805
I'm so glad you had someone supportive around. I'm surprised the sonographer is calm about it. Maybe as long as everything looks OK they assume it's not serious. But don't you hate it when you go through something and you have questions and the doctors or medical professionals just brush it off..

Hm I hope it's nothing out of the ordinary. I'm so impatient about my 12 week scan.
I can do any number of abdominal scans, I used to do them since age 14 when my pcos started. It's the transvaginal scans that I hate! Unfortunately I've had so many during fertility treatments (7 per month) and 2 after conceiving so I'm stressed out about it.

missmoosh · 04/01/2024 10:49

@ceruleansky I am also 10+3 and getting on off strange sensation the left side of my uterus. Exactly as you describe, I believe it's just the uterus starting to stretch and ligaments loosening.

I am on some new antisickness medication, which helps the nausea but not stopped my vomiting. In fact today I vomited so much I peed a little at the same time! Had hoped to not pee myself until the third trimester!!! 😂😂

Surprisedbuthappy · 04/01/2024 11:02

@BananaHammock23 Oooh, thanks. I'll look into acupuncture!

@ExpectantEs Yes, that sounds similar to me except mine's on the right side and I got the shooting pains first then the constant dull ache started later. I was also concerned that it seemed too early to be getting it but I have read that it can happen at any time, just it's more common in the third trimester.

ceruleansky · 04/01/2024 14:32

@missmoosh
Oh okay! Then I guess it's normal! Had me worried for a second lol.
Are you also experiencing the bloat from hell? 🤣

Hope you feel better soon as we cross the 13 week mark! Sounds like you're really going through it!

missmoosh · 04/01/2024 14:57

@ceruleansky haha yeah I mean I hope its normal! And I most defo am experiencing the bloat from hell, I already look like I have a bump, but sure it's all bloat!

ceruleansky · 04/01/2024 15:26

@missmoosh
It's so much worse in the evening.
I'm already so weight conscious and this isn't helping! 😪
People lose weight in the first trimester and I've just gained weight lol. :(

missmoosh · 04/01/2024 16:17

@ceruleansky oh bless you, I know the feeling I'm ever so slightly over weight and despite being half a stone down, I'm still like if I lose another half I will be normal bmi! Which is so silly of me and I have to keep reminding myself that this is not the time to worry about my weight!
Hormones do wonderful things and before my sickness started I was an empty void, so I would have gained too!

And yes much worse in the evening, tempted to do a picture of my tummy in the morning and evening to compare 😂

Nocoffeenotalkie · 04/01/2024 18:46

I did that @missmoosh definitely a big difference! I swear I had less of a bump at 4 months with my first compared to the evenings bloat at 11+3 🤦‍♀️

TWellsWellsy · 04/01/2024 18:53

@CMRC17 I've been taking Proceive (vits and omega 3) from TTC. I'm moving onto their Trimester 2 tabs which are slightly different to the the conception and Tri 1 - so may be worth a look 😊

CB2805 · 05/01/2024 02:06

@ceruleansky I know it’s crazy how calm they are! But in this case they might be right bleeding is no existent now just some brown spotting, and I keep checking on my babies heartbeats on Doppler everything seems fine. Feeling so relieved. My 12w scan is on Wednesday where a will be 13+1 so not long to go!
Spoke with my fertility doctor and he suspects low laying placenta for one of the twins that caused the bleed last day.

I know the feeling about the transvaginal scan! Honestly after so many surgeries and infertility issues, it doesn’t feel weird to get undressed anymore for the scans but still dread them!
Glad we upgraded for the abdominal ones now😅

Outliers · 05/01/2024 02:26

11 weeks and ill 😬

Lisao86 · 05/01/2024 05:14

It’s lovely to read all the positive scan stories - glad everyone’s babies are developing well. 🥰 Had my 12 week scan on weds, measuring 13w4d. 😅
Then the next day tested positive for covid! Just as I was starting to feel a little bit better in myself. Ugh.

Starliners · 05/01/2024 08:57

Hi @CB2805 I noticed you mentioned you’re using a Doppler and I couldn’t scroll past without mentioning to you that my midwife advised against using one at home as it could be picking up the blood flowing through the placenta etc. I don’t want to worry you of course and you may be outside the UK where it might be recommended to use one

CB2805 · 05/01/2024 10:45

@Starliners hi thank you for the advise. I’m in UK and I’m pretty aware that it is not recommended. Although I know very well as well which is my babies heartbeats which my own and which is the placenta.
the purpose of the Doppler for myself is just to calm me down as I’m a very anxious person in general and this pregnancy is driving me mad.
When there is an issue I do attend medical examination and scans I don’t rely on Doppler but it is a good way for myself to calm my mind in the meantime.

Starliners · 05/01/2024 10:48

@CB2805 I’m glad it brings you comfort when you’re feeling anxious 💕 I hope my comment didn’t offend you, I just wanted to share what my midwife told me as before she told me I’d have had no idea

CB2805 · 05/01/2024 10:53

@Starliners of caurse not🫶🏻 I’m glad you shared that (i could be completely unaware)
But it took me a lot of research videos and practice to get to the point to know which are the heartbeats. And I honestly hope I’m getting it right😅

bringmearainbow · 05/01/2024 11:34

13+6 today and this is the first day so far I've had no nausea 🙌🏼 it dropped off from all day to just in the morning last week hopefully it's bloody gone for good 😂 @CB2805 I also use a Doppler to help with anxiety. When you know what you're listening for it's easy to distinguish. I'm thinking of booking in a scan for a couple of weeks can't wait for the 20 week one to see bubs 🙈

Busyhedgehog · 05/01/2024 13:41

11+5 and while my cold is getting better, my nausea is back. Super. 🤦‍♀️
First day wearing my maternity jeans today and they are feeling much more comfy already. I'm pretty sure I didn't show that early with DS. Even at 20 weeks I only had a tiny bump.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 06/01/2024 19:39

Hi, hope everyone is well.

Does anyone know if you absorb more vitamins as you head into the 2nd trimester? I am 11+6 at the moment.
Only asking as I've noticed that my urine is not a yellow. I assumed it was previously due to my body expelling the extra/unnecessary vitamins.

pleasehelp5 · 07/01/2024 02:12

Hi all, I hope your pregnancies are going well. Just wondering has anyone else noticed their sickness get worse? I'm 13 weeks 2 days and before I would just feel sick but now I'm going of more food and actually being sick now. It start half way through the 12th week. Also does anyone else feel their baby move as I keep feeling flickers x

BananaHammock23 · 07/01/2024 05:24

@pleasehelp5 can't help on the sickness but I've been feeling flickers since I was around 12 weeks. I'm 14+2 now and there's definitely getting stronger and more distinctive. It's my second successful pregnant and I've heard you feel them earlier when you've already had one
