Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

Happy New Year everyone!

Positive vibes for a healthy and happy year for us all and all our gorgeous babies arriving in July ❤️

Jess725 · 01/01/2024 11:20

Happy new year everyone!!
nice news on yet more scans 🥰🥰

I had a private scan last week as I hit the 12 week mark and currently 13+2 with another
July 6th due date!! 😊
NHS scan this Thursday! Feel a bit spoilt!
how you all getting on?

ceruleansky · 01/01/2024 17:18

Happy new year, ladies!! Wish you all healthy pregnancies!

My scan got moved up a few days and it's on the 18th. We told my in laws today, we put on "mom to be"/"dad to be" tshirts and got on a video call with them. They were so surprised and elated. Telling my parents next weekend in person when they visit. :)

I had my weekly progesterone shot today and something feels not right. The entire right side of my body hurts. :( and unfortunately the cramps are back. I'm so eager to see the scan and that everything's OK.

missmoosh · 01/01/2024 17:32

Happy New Year everyone!
Been quiet again and will probably be quiet on here for a bit. Ended up needing an IV in hospital and now on antisickness medication, which aren't working! Trying to stay up to date on the thread but struggling a touch! Hope everyones pregnancies are progressing nicely!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 01/01/2024 18:57

Hope you feel better soon @missmoosh and the second trimester brings you some respite.

Cherubs4 · 01/01/2024 20:04

Happy new year everyone.
The year our beautiful babies will be almost a half year old by the end of!
Is anyone still having nausea? I'm due July 4th so I'm about 13 weeks (maybe 14, can't remember exactly, find it hard to keep the dates in my head) and still struggling a lot with it. And exhaustion. Could sleep at almost any moment of the day right now and I had to stop exercising as my body trembled on exertion. Midwife said this is normal when the body needs a breaks but I'm not used to it! Wondering if I have a vitamin deficiency.
How is everyone else feeling into the 2nd trimester?

MrsHousePlant · 01/01/2024 20:35

@Cherubs4 I’m feeling very similar to you, had a week of feeling a bit better but I’m so tired, napping daily and nausea is back. I was sick yesterday and the day before and I’m gagging a lot. I think related to this I have been really off my food for the last couple of days too. Hoping for a miraculous transition into the second trimester soon 😂

wannabe123 · 01/01/2024 21:02

Hope you're feeling better soon @missmoosh

@Cherubs4 @MrsHousePlant I'm 13 weeks and still feeling tired and nauseous if I don't eat straight away. Also, having to make a really conscious effort to keep drinking and snacking or else I feel awful too.

Cherubs4 · 01/01/2024 21:14

It feels good to know that we are going through similar

@MrsHousePlant Also waiting for the miraculous transition into the second trimester! I'm convinced it will start tomorrow, right?! I have a bad urge to gag often too and mega food aversions - even if I think about drinking coffee 🤢

@wannabe123 yes to the eating straight away! I've been getting real hunger pangs late at night and through the night and if I ignore them I notice that I feel especially tired the next day. I remember that with my first but that was well into the 3rd trimester. Sometimes I question if they missed a second baby in there as the hunger is real

Cherubs4 · 01/01/2024 21:16

@missmoosh sorry to hear that you're unwell, wishing you a swift recovery. Is it hyperemesis?

MrsHousePlant · 01/01/2024 21:18

@Cherubs4 keeping everything crossed for us that we wake up feeling more normal 😂

@missmoosh so sorry to hear you’re so unwell. I really hope they find something that works for you soon!

chilliflakesmum · 01/01/2024 23:06

Happy new year all!
@Cherubs4 same due date. I could nap all day 😂 but nausea is better after being given anti sickness tablets after my 12 week scan. Hopefully we're getting to the other side of it now.

I also wanted to ask - has anyone been for a CVS procedure before? My screening results came back last week and I'm higher risk for DS (1 in 12). Everything else ok though 🙏 So I'm having it done Friday. I'm feeling ok about the actual procedure itself, I'm just so worried about the recovery afterwards and obviously the result.

missmoosh · 02/01/2024 09:38

Thank you all, and yes it is hyperemesis unfortunately! Thankfully GP is open again today, so trying to sort out some different medication!

Busyhedgehog · 02/01/2024 11:45

Hyperemensis sounds awful. A friend of mine went through that with both her pregnancies. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm 11+2 today and had my bloods taken for the test to check for trisomy earlier this morning. We should get the results next week. My gynaecologist did a quick scan as well and heart was beating away nicely. I've had a horrible cold all week, which is only now starting to get better, so was a bit worried. Most of the symptoms have settled down but I still feel nauseous in the evenings and my blood sugar dropping isn't good for me at all, so I try and keep eating little things. I need rice and vegetables and fruit. Not bothered about chocolates or sweets at all, funnily enough.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 02/01/2024 12:45

@Busyhedgehog I’m with you not wanting choc or sweets (and normally I’m a massive chocolate fan). I want all things I can’t have though - I’m gluten intolerant but want bready carbs like garlic bread, doughy pizza and even bread rolls / Chinese takeaway special fried rice / Cornish pasties. I’m just about managing with chips and crisps and my own GF fried rice but the house is full of cake, biscuits and chocolate for Christmas and I don’t want any of it.

I’ve had that same cold I think and it’s been awful, miserable - hopefully coming out the other side now, hope you feel much better soon too!

Cattattack · 02/01/2024 14:36

Hi everyone! Happy New Year to you all, a very exciting year for us indeed! I had my 12 week scan today, measuring exactly as I'd estimated, 12+1 - due 15th July!

It was such a contrast seeing it 7w vs 12w! I could see it waving its arms and legs around like a proper fidget. It was lovely.

Had all the tests done too, expect to hear back this week if we are high risk (lets hope we don't), then we share news with friends & family! Crossing my fingers!

MoonIightDreamer · 02/01/2024 15:22

Had my booking appointment on Saturday with midwife. Awaiting my first scan now. Well technically it will be my third scan. Had my last private scan before Christmas and I'm already anxious to know everything is OK. Is anyone else this anxious ?currently 12 weeks today

AnonymousXXIX · 02/01/2024 16:07

Oh, yeah, massive chocolate and coffee aversion here too! And an odd nausea trigger: being cold?! (Last time I was pregnant the first trimester was May/June so no idea if this is a new one for me or if it would have been a thing then too.)

Alwaystired2023 · 02/01/2024 16:50

@MoonIightDreamer ah so sorry totally get it, am normally quite relaxed especially medical wise - but so anxious during pregnancy. Before every scan with my first I was just in panic mode. Can't relax until someone hands me the baby!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 02/01/2024 17:43

I'm really anxious this pregnancy but it's mostly due to my age (41) and the fact we've been trying for dc2 for 10 years. Doesn't seem real. I have very few symptoms other than increased cervical mucus.

Does anyone know when we get our screening results? Is it same day as the 12 week scan? Do you find out straight away what your odds are? Bit concerned about announcing and it all going wrong - particularly worried about telling my daughter.

Busyhedgehog · 02/01/2024 17:49

@Nocoffeenotalkie I know the feeling. I'll be 41 in February and we've had quite a few attempts between DS and now. Fingers crossed it'll all be OK.
I think we just got a letter with the results last time.
I've got an appointment next week anyway, so hope my gynaecologist can tell me then. She might even be able to tell me whether it's going g to be a boy or a girl (although she has to wait until 14 weeks by law).

Savvy21 · 02/01/2024 18:01

@Nocoffeenotalkie if you're in the UK, I got told that my results would be in the post 2 weeks after my scan. Or if there's a high probability then I'd get a call. I think they need to wait for your bloods to come back.

chilliflakesmum · 02/01/2024 18:15

@Nocoffeenotalkie I had my 12 week scan on the 20th December and then they said they'd call by the following Wednesday (so a whole week later) if anything did show up. Bearing in mind Xmas and bank holiday was in between so in normal times a bit quicker I assume.
I got the call 4.45pm exactly a week later informing me.
I'm 38 so I understand how anxious you feel.
