@Nclktnntt true nothing stopping a day out, just not so enjoyable in the cold lol, my little girl has just started bopping to music last few days, so cute and funny bless her xx

Ohhh my little guy loves a boogie 😂 especially to dj boing boing - he comes scooting around the kitchen, stopping every so often for a boogie . I love it. I dance a lot to his toys and he used to love setting them off then looking at me to dance about like a nutcase, now he joins in 😂 xx

My little guy has just learnt how to open cupboard doors 😂 drawers are still safe just now - I doubt for long though 😂😂

@Nclktnntt Ahhh mine's the same! 😂He opened a food cupboard had a look and closed the door - nothing took his fancy lol.
Nothing is out of bounds anymore now they're mobile 😂

My LO also managed to walk up the full flight of stairs yesterday (with me stuck behind him monitoring all the way). Is anyone else finding that their LO's first nap is drifting later into the day? My LO turns 10 months old on Sunday, his first awake window has always been 2.5 hours up until the last couple of weeks, it's now closer to 3.5 hours...wondering if this is a sign of getting ready to drop down to one nap?
Google says babies tend to drop to one nap when they're between 12 -18 months. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this with their LO?

Avie29 · 25/10/2024 17:27

@Nclktnntt my little girl likes the picnic bowls and plates in the cupboard and regularly pulls them out, thankfully they are hard plastic so no breaks lol, @Beans1982 i have no idea what is going on with my little girls naps at the moment, she went from 2 very short (30-40mins) a day to one long nap (2hrs) for a week- the other day she napped for 30 mins and that was it, to today she napped for hour n half and then had another hour nap 🤷🏻‍♀️ so no help with napping here lol xx

Nclktnntt · 26/10/2024 09:52

@Beans1982 your little is just over a week older than my little guy. His naps have been all over the place lately but seem to be balancing back out, his wake windows are on the shorter side for his age range, from what I can tell. He was going 1.5-2 hour between waking and his first nap, whereas now it's more 2-2.5 hours, but then his second nap is all over the place, sometimes it's 2-3 hour after or 4 hours after. Sometimes he still has 3 naps. That usually depends on how disrupted his night sleep was though I've found.

So no real help here I'm afraid 😂

Anyone else’s little found their voice? My LG is shrieking/happy screaming at the top of her lungs whenever she’s happy haha!

This is not helping my health anxieties though, I’ve been to the docs and been put on tabs for post natal anxiety. Can’t help but over analyse every little thing she does or noise she makes which makes me think she’s not developing appropriately etc. it’s horrendous. Just want to enjoy my LG again ☹️

99SR · 26/10/2024 10:07

Also can’t remember who said it but my LG now opens the drawers in the kitchen too. Or goes for the dog bowls! She’ll start to crawl, look behind at me, smile then crawl rapidly towards them haha!!

Avie29 · 26/10/2024 20:38

@99SR yes my little girl does the same, she also babbles and high pitch squeaks at her toys lol sounds like shes having an interesting conversation lol, she started with bubba then mumma so i was trying to get her to say dadda and now she says dadda she hasn’t said mumma since lol wish i never taught her haha.
so sorry you are struggling with anxiety, if it helps it sounds like your little girl is doing really great 👍🏻 xx

99SR · 26/10/2024 21:08

thank you @Avie29 my LG is the same! Was saying mama then gaga and baba now no mama! Haha

shes also flapping her hands and kicking her legs when she’s extremely excited. This is what got me panicked even though I know it’s developmentally normal! Anyone else’s babies do this?

Yes my little girl does the hand flappy thing too, im guessing the hand flapping made you panic due to it being an autistic trait? xx

99SR · 27/10/2024 01:05

@Avie29 yeah. I don’t want that to come across offensive to anyone as obviously nothing would change. I just have the worst health anxiety 😢 good to know your LG does it too.

Nclktnntt · 27/10/2024 06:49

@99SR my little one does the flappy arms when excited, he does also rotate his wrists and feet for time to time, so the thought has crossed my mind too. But it is also developmentally normal for them at this age too, it's hard with anxiety because your brain literally flies off in all directions considering only the worst possibilities, I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with that and that it's putting a dampener on you enjoying your little one.

How did we all do with the clocks going back? My little guy woke at 5:35 but was trying to resettle so I let him, 6 ish he was struggling so I got him out of bed and he was just chilling in my arms, it was at this point we remembered the clocks had gone back, so maybe he didnt wanna go to sleep or he did due to the lighting but wasn't tired enough 🤷‍♀️ so we got in our bed for cuddles, 6:30 he fell back asleep 😂 xx

99SR · 27/10/2024 07:11

@Nclktnntt that’s exactly it! I know it’s developmentally appropriate but my anxiety is just running away with my thoughts!

my LG woke up at 6am! She had been sleeping since 7.30pm so 11.5hrs! Can’t complain lol. Hope you went back to bed after your lo went back to sleep!

Avie29 · 27/10/2024 07:39

my lg woke me at 6:30ish but we cuddled in bed till 7 (i snoozed while she pulled my hair) lol @99SR if it puts your mind at ease i have 2 autistic children and the hand flapping hasn’t raised any alarms with me, as you said it is a developmental thing at this age, she is hitting all the milestones in the age range so im not worried xx

99SR · 27/10/2024 07:43

@Avie29 i really didn’t mean to cause any offence, i hope it didn’t come across that way. It’s more my anxiety and what it’s doing to me! Hopefully my medication helps soon. Rationally I know it’s a ‘normal’ part of development. Thanks x

No offence taken 😊 @99SR xx

Avie29 · 30/10/2024 22:02

Well im not holding my breath but baby girl slept for 4.5hrs last night 😱 that is the first time in 6 months she has slept for longer than 2 hours in the night! Im soo hoping it continues, wish me luck for tonight xx

99SR · 31/10/2024 07:08

@Avie29 you must feel like a new woman lol how did last night go?
my LG top two teeth are coming through, she was super clingy/grumpy yesterday and it took my OH over an hour to get her to sleep last night lol. Up for the day with the birds at 5.45 😴

Avie29 · 31/10/2024 10:23

@99SR unfortunately i only caught the last 2 hours of the 4.5 but was so happy she still slept that long 8-12:30 and i went up to bed at 10 lol, last night was a nightmare, up every half hour/hour and downstairs by 4:30 watching elmo in grouchland, went back to bed at 6:30 this morning and she woke at just gone 8 but Dad got up with her this morning to give me a bit of extra sleep lol glad i didn’t hold my breath lol xx

Nclktnntt · 09/11/2024 10:49

How are we all? How has the fireworks been effecting us? Our little one hasn't been too bad but last night seemed to be the loudest yet, although short lived. I'm not looking forward to tonight though. Hopefully tonight is the last of it until the new year though 🤞

Avie29 · 09/11/2024 20:24

@Nclktnntt we are good, she did not enjoy the fireworks, i ended up bring her back indoors but its ok we shared a couple chocolate buttons while dad n older kids enjoyed the fireworks lol xx

99SR · 10/11/2024 14:47

We didn’t go to any firework displays cause I didn’t think my LO would like them.

is anyone else’s baby screaming for no apparent reason?! Not a cry either. Just a scream or a screech!? I’ve googled it (obviously) and it’s a normal stage of development around 11m but oh my goodness! My LG already has a good set of lungs on her but this is something else lol.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 10/11/2024 14:56

Oh the screeching. And the temper tantrums 😅

Thankfully seemed unperturbed by fireworks but we have a different issue. He's never been a good sleeper but he's back to waking every hour for food. He has 3 MASSIVE meals in day, plus snacks, plus taking our food, plus milk. Yet he wakes all night crying hungry. By 6am ish he's screaming and even milk won't quiet him. He screams all the way through making his breakfast until he's a couple mouthfuls in. Then he wants more, takes our food. Then knackered all day because he's been up all night feeding. Anyone else?

I'll admit he's never still though. He's climbing everything, standing on whatever surface he can source.

Avie29 · 10/11/2024 22:37

@99SR my little girl doesn’t scream but has started growling 😂 can’t think of another way to describe it lol @FlyingHighFlyingLow apart from the last 3 nights she has been waking every hour pretty much for last 6 months, for feeds, i dunno what has changed in the last 3 nights but from bedtime 7-8 oclock she has been sleeping 4-5 hours, and then waking every hourish im hoping it extends to all night eventually, got no advice as i didn’t change routine or anything but waited it out n its improved 🤷🏻‍♀️xx
