@thislittlebird Marcie was 'an angel' on our flight today! Quote directly from a fellow passenger 😂 She really was good though! Fed or slept or smiled her way through the whole flight! Her three year old brother was also very well behaved which I feel is more impressive. He did hurl himself down some steps on a TFL bus this morning however 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Don't fret about the holiday! It will all be fabulous and you'll have an amazing time!

@KG1244 My little one is 3.5 months old… yet to hit the 4 month sleep regression but I’m sure it will come. It’s a natural part of all the changes in their brain at 4 months.

My son didn't have one and nor has Marcie so far! It's not a given thankfully! 😅

thislittlebird · 31/08/2024 13:31

@TheBirdintheCave I’m hoping mine doesn’t either because she’s a very good sleeper to date!

I’m glad she was good on the plane! E has been very whingy of late and I think it’s probably a growth spurt thing, fussy with feeds and so on. I hope it’s fabulous, currently I’m just fretting! I also have no plans yet and should make some loose ones for what we’re doing.

What did you do formula wise for the plane? I don’t know how to take it through, even though I know it’s fine to take it, was planning on taking the ready made stuff.

@CollsR he has started to learn to self soothe and found his thumb which I’m hoping will be a positive!

We are going away to the South of France in a couple of weeks and I’m feeling really nervous about it…I keep worrying about him being unwell whilst we are there or not packing the right stuff for him and then unable to get it whilst we are away.

thislittlebird · 31/08/2024 14:04

@KG1244 we’re taking Calpol and infacol just in case to save buying it there, anything worse than that is unlikely I suppose.

We paid more to go from London City so that we have a smoother airport experience, I’m hoping it all goes well but the packing for her is daunting right now.

@thislittlebird oh it’s so daunting! I think I’ve got everything but I keep panicking that there is something obvious missing! What are you doing about protection against mosquitoes?

thislittlebird · 31/08/2024 14:39

@KG1244 what date do you go? we're flying on the 16th. I'm not sure what to do other than get a full sun shade for her that will double up as mozzy protection, I guess. I saw a sunshade/mosquito net by Mamas and Papas but the reviews were bad.

I did buy a pram fan because it looks hot out there still

@thislittlebird We took three empty sterilised bottles and three of the little ready to drink cartons then just poured one into the bottle when she needed a drink :) Security were all fine with that approach and must have seen it thousands of times before.

thislittlebird · 02/09/2024 19:05

@TheBirdintheCave that’s not too bad then. I was wondering whether to take powder in a formula powder travel container as a back up but not sure if they’ll allow that.

TheBirdintheCave · 03/09/2024 21:43

@thislittlebird I think they would allow it :)

It's so hot here! It's like walking around in a furnace every day 🥵

thislittlebird · 03/09/2024 22:48

@TheBirdintheCave I would not have expected that of Vienna(?) in September but I just checked and yeah that is not! How is the baby coping with it?

Florence has cooled down as soon as September has hit, we’ll probably get rained on all week when we go 😩

@thislittlebird She's doing really well with it and it doesn't seem to bother her thankfully.

My three year old is getting tired a lot more easily though. I'm glad we have a buggy board for him!

Ah sucks re the weather. I hope it doesn't rain on you!

You can take everything.
When I went to London with Maggie, a couple of months ago, I took a bottle of her water, and then her bottles, and the formula, all in the nappy sack. The water just goes through first., but the formula, they dont even look at!

We only have one brand of ready made formula here, in supermarkets, and its not the brand she drinks, so it never even crossed my mind to take some!

When I went to London, I took my travel system, with the car seat, as I was gonna go on a friends car. And honestly, I thought it was great! Sure, my pram is big, but it also means I could carry all my luggage on the pram! My carry on went in the basket, Maggies bag went across the from, plus the nappy sack! It was GREAT!

In terms of sleep regression, Maggie didnt have one. Maybe a couple of worse nights, but nothing major. On the whole, she sleeps through the night every night.
