@KG1244 For us, we were back to normal at 12 weeks as G started sleeping through the night.

As to how to with two... I'll let you know as and when we work it out 😂

WholeZebra · 08/05/2024 10:40

@KG1244 When you find out please let me know 😅. We’re 6 weeks old this end and still struggling with sleep. She’s currently struggling with constipation and the noises that come out of her overnight are otherworldly

ASGIRC · 08/05/2024 12:49

@CollsR congratulations!!!!

@KG1244 I was never that sleep deprived, but my 7 week old (today!!!) is now sleeping through the night. Sadly it is not "my" night, but she sleeps from around 11 to around 6/7 am! I would much rather she slept form 1am to 9am but hey ho!!! LOL
But Im still getting 5 to 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

The challenging part here is the witching hour. From around 8pm to around midnight she will SCREAM non stop. She does have trapped gas, which gets worse around that time, but some of her cries are not of pain. Just of general discomfort. Nothing consoles her, but she does pass out after a while, for about 5 minutes, before starting to cry again.
Fortunately, it calms down, usually after ber 11pm bottle, and then she sleeps the rest of the night!

She is still constipated. But the other day she did 5 poos in ONE day, without any laxative help!!!!

KG1244 · 09/05/2024 02:13

Thank you all for your replies ❤️ hopefully sleep will return soon. At the moment it just feels like poop and feed

thislittlebird · 09/05/2024 06:31

@PollywithaP good luck with the c section, hope all is well! And yeah, I’m sure DH’s workplace will do more than mine, even a card would be nice.

@CollsR congratulations on the arrival of baby James! Hope you’re feeling a little better and are home now. I’m a fan of a babies that arrive with a mullet!

@KG1244 @ASGIRC honestly this all sounds terrifying and I’m sat here wondering whose idea it was to give up all this sleep and peace and quiet. I’m very nervous about the early phase, it sounds so hard.

I won’t be having a second kid anyway, because it took us 5 years and many thousands to get this far. Hopefully the newborn phase will stop me feeling guilty about that!

We are home with our little girl! The birth was very rough as I went into anaphalactic shock after the C section, probably a reaction to some of the meds, my blood pressure went right down and I had to be given adreniline and steroids. I had massive swollen hives everywhere and couldn’t breathe. Was very scary, particularly for DH who was left with the baby. We are home today though so just settling in!

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2024 11:44

@PollywithaP Congratulations! :D I'm glad you're both ok. That sounds really scary.

ASGIRC · 09/05/2024 12:47

@PollywithaP That sounds super scary, but Im glad youre home now!!
And congrats!!!

@thislittlebird honestly, for me, the sleep thing hasnt been a problem at all! I am relatively well rested and have been since birth. Or rather, since a couple of days after, as I was VERY sleep deprived by the time my baby was born, and it took a few days to catch up on that.
I am honestly getting better sleep now, with a baby, than I did in the 3rd trimester.
Obviously I understand Im very lucky and that this isnt the same for everyone, but maybe you will be lucky as well!

CollsR · 09/05/2024 13:28

@PollywithaP Congratulations on the birth of your little girl. Welcome little one. That’s a scary birth story. Glad you’re okay now.

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2024 14:46

@thislittlebird Just you and me left now! 😬I expect my baby will come at some point next week as due date is Tuesday and I went into labour at 40+4 last time.

thislittlebird · 11/05/2024 14:55

Are you still baby free? @TheBirdintheCave

I saw the ons baby names are out on the 17th for 2022! better late than never, I guess

@PollywithaP congrats on the baby girl! Sorry to hear you had a rough time, hope you’re feeling on the mend now.

@ASGIRC i would be more than happy with an 11-6 sleeper, I could work with that! I’ll probably get one that won’t sleep at all :/

TheBirdintheCave · 11/05/2024 16:22

@thislittlebird Yep! 😂 Due on Tuesday so I'm definitely going to go over I think! 😅 How're you doing?

ASGIRC · 12/05/2024 14:48

@thislittlebird hahaha yes, it works out well. even when she was waking up every 3h, because she slept straight away, i was still getting a decent amount of sleep.

now she sleeps at night, but not during the day, which is also challenging.. But its still miles better than being pregnant!!!! 😂

thislittlebird · 14/05/2024 22:20

It might just be @TheBirdintheCave now!

My waters broke at 3.30am today, so we finished packing and called the assessment unit who said to come to triage. Got there at 7, had the c section at 2pm, unnamed baby girl weighed 7lb 1oz and is currently snoozing in her hospital cot! No complications so far, hoping we’ll be out tomorrow.

@thislittlebird Aww man 😂

Congratulations though! I'm glad it all went smoothly and you have your little one! 🥳

thislittlebird · 14/05/2024 22:43

@TheBirdintheCave thanks! How many weeks are you now? 38+2 here and in a way I’m glad I didn’t get to overthink it another 9 days iykwim

TheBirdintheCave · 14/05/2024 23:22

@thislittlebird Due date is today! :) So officially overdue tomorrow 😂

thislittlebird · 15/05/2024 00:05

@TheBirdintheCave hoping you get going soon then! It was weird, didn’t really sleep well last night, kept waking up hot, then the next thing I know I realise there’s blood/water leaking and it was all stations go to finish packing. The house isn’t 100% ready but is ready enough for a baby to come home and eat and sleep etc

KG1244 · 15/05/2024 13:32

@thislittlebird amazing news. Congratulations! Hope you and baby are doing well xx

ASGIRC · 16/05/2024 14:18

@thislittlebird congrats!!! Youll see its not as scary as all that!!

TheBirdintheCave · 16/05/2024 16:12

You guys, I am so mad. Had a sweep yesterday around 3pm and regular 3-4 minute contractions from 2am this morning. We went to hospital around 6am and everything just tailed off. Grr. Eventually came home for lunch and a nap with contractions back to every 10 mins.

I'm so sleepy and cross 😂

PollywithaP · 16/05/2024 21:36

@TheBirdintheCave I hope your little one arrives safely soon!

CollsR · 16/05/2024 21:39

@thislittlebird congratulations & welcome to your baby girl!!! ❤️❤️
