@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 probably the oldest here 🫣🫣 I’m 44. Also IVF so maybe that’s another factor that called for the test but I think it might just be protocol in my area for everyone to get tested as my friend who’s much younger had a test too

Ladies… is bump ache anything I should worry about or is it pretty normal?? Getting lots of aches this last few days…

anony1111 · 13/11/2023 11:34

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX yes was a vaginal delivery, I had an episiotomy and very nearly needed forceps but managed to deliver him just in time.
I am only petite and my bump was huge but there was never any concern from the midwife leading up to birth 🙈

Mismatc · 13/11/2023 12:28

38+6 6lb 9oz
33+4 3lb 11oz

I had growth scans for both and will have them for this baby too, first one is at 32 weeks as long as the 28 week appointment is all good

My bump goes through growth spurts and I have two or three days of aching in the run up. Totally normal, but do speak to midwife if you’re worried. I have been having lots of scans and tests for separate matter, but that’s always reassured me when I’ve been achy during them.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/11/2023 13:13

@Kelb79 I'm 39.

Hmm on the bump ache, I get it like a very overstretched ache, and my skin feels very tight for a few days as well. Is it like that, or crampy? Might be worth mentioning it to midwife, but I've had a lot of random aches (and then a few days later look bigger) so I'm assuming it's normal

CheeseAndCrackersx · 13/11/2023 14:25

@Kelb79 my bump aches every morning for the past couple of days.

It's happened quite often to me and I think it's like @redxlondon says it's cos of a growth spurt. Always happens on the weekend too like it's building up to that week change on a Tuesday 😄

Sunshineclouds11 · 13/11/2023 14:49

Yes I've experienced really sore bump twice now.
I went to get checked the first time and they put it down to growing etc.
I woke up today and the pains gone.

I am a lot bigger now than I was with my first at this point so seem to be growing quick!

DmcinT · 13/11/2023 15:16

@Kelb79 ive mentioned the bump ache/pain on here before, I deff notice now that it’s right before bump gets bigger for me or if I’ve been standing a lot that day without bump support (just wearing looser clothes) it happens too.

glucose test seems to depend on area as our hospital checks everyone over 30 now 🤷🏼‍♀️

mad to think that’s a good few of us into the last trimester now ☺️ (I’m being taken in at 37 weeks so just under 10 weeks left which is blowing my mind a bit😅)

Ebonythoughts · 13/11/2023 15:31

Hi all,

I just had my 28 week app and the midwife said baby is measuring big at 30/31 and so she is sending me for a growth scan. Is this something to worry about? My GTT came my fine so I’m not sure what to make of it.

DmcinT · 13/11/2023 15:36

@Ebonythoughts had baby been measuring a bit bigger all along? Friend of mine due mid jan had that and just recently they changed her due date to the end of Dec.

did the midwife say it was of concern?

LavenderSweetPea · 13/11/2023 15:56

For anyone looking to buy new baby stuff, I finally got all excited and bought new stuff from John Lewis - they've put lots of cheaper things like clothes on 20% off, but there's also loads of car seats and cribs on Black Friday discount too, plus if you do an All Things Baby appointment to get a discount code (I did mine online because it's not easy for me to get to the store) you can get up to 15% off on top of the Black Friday price as well, so I've just saved loads! It honestly sounds like I work there but I promise I don't 😂

In one swoop I'm nearly done with buying baby things! Can't wait for it all to arrive, don't think I've been this excited about a delivery

CharXo · 13/11/2023 16:38

Ladies.. please tell me I’m not freaking out unnecessarily but I am already producing colostrum (27 weeks Wednesday) .. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t able to do this until the very last couple of weeks previously….

Ihatewinding · 13/11/2023 17:05

@CharXo some women can produce colostrum from 16 weeks so I wouldn't worry, I've noticed it more so these last couple of weeks (am 28 weeks on Wednesday), especially after hot bath or shower. As long you're not actively attempting to express it until you're term then you're fine!

I am also looking forward to the Black Friday sales for picking up last bits and bobs ☺️ though had made a list and been checking periodically as been some pre black Friday sales already.

I want to get a big chest freezer hopefully on a good deal and then do a load of meal prepping ready for when have a newborn and toddler!

Ebonythoughts · 13/11/2023 18:13

It was the first time they checked the growth (apart from 20 week scan) but the graph alarmed be. The midwife didn’t say anything other than a growth scan is needed.

Its my first baby but my sisters have had big babies so hoping it may just be that 🤞🏿

Ebonythoughts · 13/11/2023 18:16

I didn’t know what it was but from 25 weeks I have little moisture coming from my breasts that would be a bit crusty by the morning and would only notice in the shower. Midwife told me today it’s possibly colostrum but to not do anything till 37 weeks and then you can harvest it if you want… but don’t do it too soon as apparently it can stimulate contractions and we don’t want that too early 😳

MrsW9 · 13/11/2023 21:35

Thanks @novamama @LavenderSweetPea @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7, that's really reassuring to hear.

Kelb79 · 14/11/2023 00:38

Ok… at the risk of being totally controversial… does anyone else not really enjoy the baby’s movements?? 🫣🫣
don’t get me wrong, I do want to feel them, they reassure me, it’s genuinely utterly amazing…
but F. Me they feel weird as hell!!! 😵‍💫
mine went quiet a couple of days ago and I started to panic but I think they saved up all their energy to go mental over the last 24 hours!! 😂
it makes me feel like I’ve got mega indigestion and I’m gonna be needing sone serious toilet time very soon! 😂
or there’s a squirrel rummaging around in there trying to bury nuts!!
oddly they’ve gone from being totally hyped to totally quiet while I’ve been writing this and at other times they start moving at exactly the time when I think they’re going too - the mind reading is freaky too 🤣🤣🤣

CheeseAndCrackersx · 14/11/2023 01:07

@Kelb79 I know what you mean! I quite like the obvious kicks, but not super keen on the "swishing" when baby rolls or makes smaller movements. Or when they are kicking my bladder/innards.

What keeps me entertained is when baby is doing big kicks I can feel from the outside but as soon as my husband tries to feel them the baby stops 😂 - very uncooperative!

LavenderSweetPea · 14/11/2023 09:09

@Kelb79 Yeah I feel the same. I'm lucky to feel lots of movements, and I love the proper thumpy kind of kicks and stuff. But I also feel this movement I couldn't possible describe until you said it feels like a squirrel rummaging for nuts and that is EXACTLY what it feels like and that movement makes me feel all wierd, I'm certainly not as keen on it!

Kelb79 · 14/11/2023 10:48

@amyg1985 @LavenderSweetPea im so glad I’m not the only one finding it weird! 🙏🏼🤣 it feels so wrong saying it because I definitely wouldn’t want them to stop but just be a little less freaky with it 🫣🫣
and yep, @amyg1985, mine stop every time I get OH to feel aswell!! 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

CheeseAndCrackersx · 14/11/2023 10:50

@Kelb79 the rolling makes me feel like my stomach is a washing machine. And the kicks down below are the ones for me that make me feel odd 🥴😄

Ihatewinding · 14/11/2023 12:14

Squirrel rummaging for nuts - love it! Such a good description 😂

Just had my 28 week appointment, I hadn't realised as not first time mum this time that next one won't be until 34 weeks! That seems ages to me, though will actually be having at 33 weeks as 34 weeks would have been due on Boxing day so GP closed.

I'm measuring over 90th centile by fundal height so think gonna just get a private scan in next couple of weeks if not being measured again for a while. I was over 95th with my daughter and ended being 40th centile with polyhydramnios so want to see if that's the case again and need to push for another GTT.

@CheeseAndCrackersx also yes to that gorilla picture! Bump feels huge and boobs have gone up another 2 cup sizes so just want to slob around with the extra weight😅
