Kelb79 · 12/11/2023 12:48

Hey lovelies…
I keep waking up through the night with the most awful dry mouth! And of course have to go to the loo once I’m awake 🙄
I’m panicking! Does this sound like GTD?? 😬😬

anony1111 · 12/11/2023 14:37

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX I only have one son and he was an eye watering 9lbs14oz at birth, he was born at 41+2
I'm so scared I'm going to have an even bigger baby this time 🙈

CharXo · 12/11/2023 16:24

@anony1111 blimey!! You absolute warrior!!

babythreeincoming · 12/11/2023 16:28

First baby @ 40+2 = 8lb 10oz

Second baby @ 38+2 = 8lb 13oz

Fully preparing for another big boy as he already weighs almost 2lb at 25 weeks (4D scan earlier this week) 🥰

MrsW9 · 12/11/2023 16:58

Does anyone know how much weight you're supposed to have put on by 24/25 weeks? Just have no idea whether there is a 'right' minimum according to the NHS.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 12/11/2023 17:18

Are any of you ladies getting a feeding chair?
Or those who have babies already, did you get 1?

My little man won't have a nursery yet cos I only live in a 1 bedroom flat, but I'm not sure whether to get 1 for in my bedroom for now. Just trying to think would it be better than just sitting in bed feeding him.

Mummapenguin20 · 12/11/2023 17:34

I’ve always just fed on my bed x

LavenderSweetPea · 12/11/2023 17:56

@MrsW9 I think how much weight you should gain depends on what your BMI was pre pregnancy. If you're larger you need to gain less than if you're underweight to begin with. But if your BMI is in the normal range I think about 6-8kg is the right about for 25w

Foreverhoping33 · 12/11/2023 18:21

@Kelb79 oh I hope not because that is definitely me. I need to pee all the time! And am so thirsty particularly at night. Maybe I should ask to take a test next time I see my midwife….
I just thought needing to pee lots and being thirsty were normal pregnancy symptoms.

anony1111 · 12/11/2023 18:37

@CharXo pray for me this time round 🤣🙈 it wasn't the nicest experience, but no major complications

I bought one for his nursery and literally didn't use it.
I fed in bed or if I was knackered I sat on the floor so I was too uncomfy to fall asleep.

Kelb79 · 12/11/2023 19:08

@Foreverhoping33 yep, I thought they were just normal symptoms too but google has got me paranoid!! 😩 I’ve got a GTD test booked in 10 days as im a “geriatric mum” 🙄 god I hate that term!! But glad they’re testing 👌🏼🙏🏼

CheeseAndCrackersx · 12/11/2023 19:49

Ah thank you @Sunshineclouds11 &@Mummapenguin20 I won't waste my money then 🙂 I probably would end up staying in bed to do it anyway 😄

MrsW9 · 12/11/2023 20:03

@LavenderSweetPea Thank you. I've only put on 5, so a little bit worried baby might not be growing as much as needed. I'm very short, but don't know if that makes a difference to the amount of weight gain to be expected?

novamama · 12/11/2023 21:11

@MrsW9 I would only worry about weight gain if your midwives/consultant tell you that something is wrong. Baby growth is monitored at the appointments, as they should measure your uterus's fundal height - that's a very good indicator if baby is growing as expected. My midwife said some people put 7kg by the end, some put 25kg so it's not a great indicator of anything. Hope this helps xx

LavenderSweetPea · 12/11/2023 22:17

@MrsW9 I agree with @novamama you shouldn't really worry about it in relation to how baby is growing. Very little of the extra weight is actually baby, the fundal measurements are more important.

If it helps, I was in the normal bmi range pre pregnancy, I've just checked my notes from my last appointment and at 24+5 I had gained 5.2kg, but bump was measuring at nearly 90th percentile so there's no reason to be concerned about lack of baby growth. If anything they're keeping an eye baby isn't getting too large!

I think the weight recommendations are more to make sure you aren't getting significantly overweight during pregnancy as there's risks of various kinds attached to that.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 13/11/2023 09:08

If it went on months; I'd have 3 months to go today
13 weeks left tomorrow 😀

CRAZY!!

I can't wait to meet him 🥰

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/11/2023 09:40

@Kelb79 of you don't mind me asking, how old are you? To get a GTT for age? I'm older also, although was only tested last time due to my sister and cousins having it before (despite them all having tiny bmi's and no diabetes in the family otherwise).

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/11/2023 09:50

@MrsW9 it varies by your bmi also how much extra weight you might be expected to gain - there are some charts online. I gained a lot last time but baby wasn't huge despite my fundal height also measuring big. They'll flag if they're worried, so I honestly wouldn't worry as other PPs have said

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 13/11/2023 11:09

@anony1111 wow what a warrior you are! Was that a vaginal delivery aswell if you don't mind me asking?

@babythreeincoming good sized babies 😊 thanks for sharing xx
